Surgery Monday

Today was an early rise for Mommy, Daddy and young Jude Liam, as today was your scheduled additional ear tube surgery at Howard Community Surgery Center with Dr. Harmon. Mommy and Daddy were up by five a.m., though neither of us slept well, as though it is characterized as a rather routine surgical procedure, both Mommy and Daddy anguish about their baby having surgery. Of course, both Mommy and Daddy were careful to not show negative vibes around our baby boy, so we approached awakening you with cheerfulness and assurances that we were off to an adventure to make you feel better :).

Grandma came by bright and early to care for Ms. Bodhi while we were at the hospital, and indeed Grandma was looking forward to spending a special day with her little princess :)

Our surgery preparation took longer than the actual surgery, which was true in early ear tube surgery at Noblesville. GiGi stopped by, of course, to give that brave, beautiful little boy special lovin’ before his operation. And of course Mommy and Daddy showered you with extra loving as well, Buddha Bubby. After the surgery, and the surgical nurse came out to advise us Dr. Harmon would meet with us soon, she also commented that all the hospital staff fell in love with our special baby boy, and expressed how much they loved his beautiful, long blonde hair and also commented that he was going to grow up to be a heartbreaker :).

Your surgical recovery hardly lasted thirty minutes, Buddha, you genuinely did manage the surgery experience exceptionally well (though you later told Daddy you “didn’t want to go to the hospital anymore”:)--what a boy). One of the nurses and Mommy carted you out of the surgery center in a wagon and Daddy had gotten our Toyota and was waiting for you in the outer drive—you of course said you wanted to go on another carriage ride when you got home, and Mommy and Daddy assured you after you had fully recovered from your surgery we would make a carriage trip to the ice cream parlor :).

After getting home, we discovered Grandma and Ms. Bodhi getting ready to go off on their adventure, and we coaxed you into staying home with Mommy and Daddy and trying to catch a nap young Buddha. Actually, you did finally fall asleep with Daddy on the floor of our study while Mommy napped upstairs in bed, until close to four p.m. when Grandma and Bodhi returned home and GiGi came by with presents for both of you :).

Daddy had to get off to work, and by the time Daddy got home you both were enjoying a visit from Diana and company and a backyard cookout. Yummmmmmmmmmm—the cookout food was great, Daddy enjoyed what was saved when work was done. As darkness finally settled, the cookout party winded down and Mommy brought the two of you in for “night, night” hugs and kisses, a quick bath, and off to bed to conclude an incredibly busy, hectic, and for Mommy and Daddy a worrisome day.

Daddy talked you into a willingness for one more hospital trip, Buddha, anticipating the removal of both the ear tubes place in your ears today and the taking of your tonsils in a few years—you are an incredible little guy, Jude Liam and you and your sister Emilia Bodhi are loved “to the moon and back!”

Look at all those precious faces :)
