Bodhi Has A Secret Friend

Bodhi has a secret friend. First, you received in the mail a few days ago a message of good will, a get-to-feeling-better greeting with a McDonald’s gift card attached—the message importantly expressed that smiles help heal broken armsJ.

The message implied, by the way, that you bring your little (bigJ) brother (bother) along for the fun.
Today you received a package from your special friend again wishing you well and hoping for your speedy recovery with a card with a teddy bear on it and the teddy bear had an arm in a slingJ.  In the package was also a gift miniature teddy bear with the words “Get Well Soon” sewed on its feetJ. The card had words of encouragement written in a loving message stating how special you are and reminding you that smiles truly are important to the healing processJ. Thank you secret special friend, you truly are special in keeping Ms. Bodhi in your heart and thoughts during her time of recuperation! Secret special friends are, well, special!!!
Today was a long work day for Mommy, and officially it was a day for Daddy to be off work from the college. Still, while Mommy worked and Daddy struggled to get some college work done on the computer, the two of you suffered putting up with DaddyJ. Part of the day, Daddy admits, Daddy was a grump. Daddy was hurting throughout the day, and Daddy is plainly a grump ass when he is hurting, and struggling to deal with that and become a better person and certainly a better Daddy.

So part of the day, Ms. Bodhi and Mister Buddha were just being three and two year-olds and Daddy was having a difficult time keeping up with the two of you—Daddy is, and frankly always has been, in awe of your Mommy!

Daddy made grilled cheese sandwiches and “tater tots” for lunch, and during the time it took to accomplish that, you young Mister Buddha made your way upstairs into Mommy’s craft room and Daddy was able to intercept you just in time to prevent you from either eating Mommy’s glue and/or gluing yourself to the carpet (Daddy is not smiling)! Both of you kept fighting with one another, and neither of you would settle for a short nap before Grandma time.

By mid-afternoon, Daddy dressed the two of you and took you to the loving sanctuary of Grandma, and honest to goodness Daddy was worn out! Grandma, as always, was happy to see her two special angels and she planned out an adventure for the two of you and Daddy could tell by looking at Grandma that she understood she was rescuing DaddyJ!

Daddy went straight home and tidied up the house, ‘cause Daddy promised Mommy he could handle taking care of the two of you and keep the house clean. And Daddy kept his promise. Then, Daddy had to get to his evening job at the Family Service Association. Mommy made arrangements for her to pick the two of you up from Grandma. By the time Daddy got home, Mommy had just arrived with Ms. Bodhi and Grandma was just arriving with Mister Buddha. Everyone, especially, Daddy was exhausted---so almost immediately it was “night, night” time! Whew-----love you!!!

PS Mommy's camera battery was on the charger all day today :(  Mommy left at 7:30 a.m., so I didn't bother with giving Daddy instructions.
