Today was a very special day---a
happy, happy, happy, happy Mother’s Day---a day celebrating Grandma Betty,
GiGi, Grandmoo, and Mommy!!!
Daddy was once again stuck
frantically trying to complete all his end-of-semester course work and grades
and attendance report submissions. Still, both of you conspired with Daddy to
get Mommy’s favorite Dunkin’ Donuts Strawberry coffee percolating before Mommy
awakened and then we all tried to give Mommy extra lovin’ throughout the
morning---you started that off especially well, Buddha, by climbing in bed with
Mommy and stroking her hair and telling her how much you love herJ-
Bodhi, you were of course extra
loving as well, though you started your day with a sore throat (you have been
struggling with that for a couple of days nowL).
Daddy tried to pitch in and helped make everyone lunch while Mommy finished
getting showered and dressed to go to GiGi’s for a special meeting with GiGi
and Grandma (we of course called Grandma Betty and wished her a Happy Mother’s
Day to fully celebrate the four mothers in our lives, we are super, super
blessed!!!).
After lunch we made our way to
GiGi’s and of course the two of you were smothered in love and attention from
GiGi and GiPa, and then when Mommy picked up Grandma, the love and attention to
babies increased by Grandma’s Super X powerJ!
We exchanged gifts to the special mothers at our Mother’s Day party, and Mister
Stinker (yes, Jude Liam, today you were Mister Stinker) you dove into Grandma’s
gift sack and grabbed all of Grandma’s candy!
After a little while, we were
joined at GiGi’s by some of GiPa’s family, and you turned into a little Miss
Shy Girl, Ms. Bodhi. We weren’t able to stay much longer in any event, as poor
little Buddha is struggling to remain true to his “big boy pledge” to stay
potty-trained while suffering with a touch of diarrhea—precious little guy!
On our way to home and first drop
Grandma off at her house, the two of you managed to negotiate going back to
Grandma’ s after your nap to watch a movie Grandma got for the two of you; so,
we made our way back home where everyone but Daddy, for a changeJ, took a nap through
the afternoon. Then, we all made a run to McDonald’s for some Happy Meals for
babies and a Big Mac Meal for Grandma and after “depositing” the two of you
with Grandma, Mommy and Daddy were able to go to Grindstone Charlie’s for a
Mother’s Day celebration dinner (we somehow magically managed to get right in
and find a lover’s boothJ,
but by the time we left it was standing room only!). Mommy did miss the two of
you at dinner time!!!
Mommy and Daddy talked each other
into a dessert sundae at the ice cream stand on the way home, then Mommy capped
her Happy Mother’s Day celebration by mowing the yardJ---yes, Mommy is a Grills
woman! Actually Mommy (and Daddy) love to mow, as much as the enjoyment of
being in our beautiful yard as just being outside. By the time Mommy finished
mowing, brother Sean Francis stopped by for a visit (and thank goodness, Daddy
desperately needed help designing an excel percentage calculation sheet for his
last class grading calculations and Brother Sean came to the rescueJ). Mommy made her way
over to Grandma’s to retrieve our special, precious treasure (named Emilia
Bodhi and Jude LiamJ)
and returned home in time for all of us (except Daddy—still struggling with
last class grading blues) to make ready for “night, night.” Mommy sent out a
final message over her computer about how much she loved her presents this week
for Mother’s Day, especially her collector’s Alice of Alice in Wonderland
figurine that we found for her at an antique storeJ. We think all of our Mommy’s
enjoyed their special day, and we are certain they each deserve a special day
every day.
Happy, happy, happy, happy
Mother’s Day!!!! WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!!!!!!
PS Thank you Daddy for
beautifully recapping our day together.
Mommy would just like to add how incredibly blessed I feel each and every
day for our life together. I am so happy
and feel so incredibly blessed to have Daddy and two unique, healthy,
beautiful, loving babies. I LOVE my
life, my friends, my family, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Motherhood brings daily challenges, but being
your mom, Buddha and Bodhi, is by far the most rewarding challenge I’ve ever
been gifted, you two are truly my life, my greatest accomplishment!!! I love
you Emilia Bodhi, Jude Liam, and Michael Eugene...to the moon and back, over
the rainbow (as you say Bodhi) to infinity and back (as you say
Buddha)!!!!! Thank you for a wonderful
day, thank you for everyday!
PSS Bodhi, when you gave me you
and your brother’s Mother’s Day card, Mommy read it to you and you were upset
Daddy didn’t write, “I love you sooooo much Mommy, love Bodhi,” you marched that card downstairs to Daddy and
had him write it on there for you hee/hee J
