OH Boy what a day! Mommy and Daddy were up at 4am, showering and preparing for Daddy's big surgery day. Daddy kindly made Mommy coffee, despite not being able to enjoy a cup himself. Before we knew it, Grandmoo (a nervous wreck) and Sister Kelly arrived to assist with our day! Grandmoo secretly shared that she was nervous to have you two for the day at our house, dogs, cats, you two, she was so worried something was going to happen. She was sure that Daddy didn't hear this though, that's the last thing Daddy needed, to be worried about the two of you.
Daddy insisted on driving, so Mommy and Sister Kelly chatted the entire way to Carmel. Once we arrived we got Daddy registered, and then we were instructed by the Daddy and the nurses to go get breakfast, Daddy was in good hands. Daddy was scheduled to be in surgery for four hours! So Mommy and Sister Kelly drove around, looking for a spot to get some morning grub. Daddy wanted us to shop, but it would be hours before any stores would be open.
After breakfast we stopped by Work Market, Daddy's favorite store. Mommy picked up some of Daddy's favorite chocolates, and a bird picture Daddy wanted Mommy to get during our last shopping adventure but Mommy decided to wait. Mommy and Sister Kelly called the hospital to check-in and they said everything went well, and that the doctor would be finished shortly and would want to meet with us.
We headed back to the hospital and learned from the doctor that he did in fact fix all of Daddy's back/neck issues. There were a few possible bad discs, but he didn't know if he wanted to work on them as well. Thank goodness! Mommy didn't want to hear that Daddy would be back for an additional surgery, so Mommy was relieved that he fixed everything all at once. However, after waiting an additional couple of hours, Mommy and Sister Kelly were then permitted to see Daddy. He looked horrible and was terribly uncomfortable. They drugged Daddy up, gave us care instructions, and sent us on our way. Daddy of course was talking crazy and being crazy, some of which we managed to get on film ha/ha Mommy stopped and got us all some soup, at Daddy's request and then we headed home.
Grandmoo informed Mommy that Jude, you were an absolute handful. You threw Grandmoo's coffee all over the walls and floors, and then proceeded to squirt some fabric refresher in your mouth!!! OH LORDY! Grandmoo had to call Poison Control, and they told Grandmoo to look for signs of cold symptoms, otherwise you would be fine. GiGi had stopped by at 1pm, a couple of hours prior to us arriving home. GiGi was so worried, she offered Mommy help, and then took off. I think the news of Buddha, squirting some fabric refresher in his mouth was just too much! You two hadn't ate, both of your schedules were "off" Jude, you slept extremely late, and Bodhi, you were up super early. Plus, you, Bodhi, have been constipated. Mommy manged to get you both down for a nap, and then I headed to the pharmacy to get Daddy's prescriptions filled while Sister Kelly stayed with you two and Daddy while you all napped.
We received exciting news... Aunt Debbie's daughter, Abby, had her baby today!! She gave birth to an eight pound, one ounce, 22 inch long baby GIRL!! Abby named her Sophie Lynn and both she and baby are doing well!! YAY! We can't wait to meet little Sophie :) We also got word that Abby's Grandma, Uncle Mike's mother, passed away yesterday. Wow! Such a joyous, and sorrowful time. Our thoughts, love, and hugs are with Aunt Debbie, Uncle Mike, and cousin Abby & baby!
Daddy, totally out of it, insisted on calling Aunt Debbie to talk about little baby Sophie. You two were in rare fussy, out of control form... so Mommy thought it best to get you both out of the house so Daddy could rest. Mommy probably should have taken the phone away from Daddy while we were outside, but Mommy didn't think about it. After walks, baths, and another check-in visit from Grandmoo, Mommy got you both tucked in... well, only for a moment. Sean Franky stopped by to see Daddy and check-in with everyone. Bodhi, you instantly got out of bed, poked your head around the door and said, "hello Sean Franky." You melted Franky's heart, and you both gave him sugars. Franky then left to get Daddy a milkshake, and Mommy a coke, so then it was back in bed for the two of you... finally! It's been a rough day. Hopefully Daddy gets to feeling better tomorrow, he's a bit of a hot mess tonight. Oh, funny side note... Dr. Riley told Mommy and Sister Kelly that Daddy has a bulldog neck and big head HA/HA! He said Daddy's neck is all muscle, but extremely thick. Therefore, Daddy will be sore for a while with all the stretching they had to do on his neck.
Swet dreams my sweet babes! We love you both so much!
Outside time in your undies! You hate to wear pants Bodhi! |
You want to do everything your sister does... including wearing just a shirt and undies outside hee/hee |
Bodhi, you just curled up in bed with Mommy. |
