A Season Changing Saturday

Today started as a usual Saturday, with Daddy off to work before eight, and by the time Daddy got home the two of you were waiting for our trip to Farmer’s Market. Mommy wanted to continue work on her projects to complete the bedroom dressers for each of you, so off we went. Preparations were underway downtown for the Taste of Kokomo festival later in the afternoon, and workers were beginning to shut off some of the streets. We still made our way to the market, and managed to get two sugar cookies and some biscuits and gravyJ. We enjoyed our mid-morning breakfast and then made our way to Foster Park. It was much cooler than recent weather has allowed, what with our summer long drought, and it almost seemed as though it was signaling a change in season.

Once at the park, the two of you proceeded to play on the playground equipment as a gospel group performed on the stage. Daddy spent some time talking with our friend and Mommy’s relative, Officer Kevin Summers. He acknowledged that you are a spittin’ image of your Mommy, Jude. And he marveled over how beautiful your curly auburn colored hair was in the sunlight, Emilia. Daddy told him you are a Daddy’s boy and a Daddy’s girlJ.

After time at the park, we worked our carriage over to Grandma’s for a short visit, and to deliver to her the banana bread present the two of you picked out for her at the market. We stayed only long enough to give Grandma her present and kisses and hugs, then we were off to get home in time for you both to get a nap; you had already fallen asleep by the time we made our return, Bodhi.

After naptime, Mommy finished her projects while Daddy made dinner of orange chicken and rice and macaroni and cheese. We enjoyed a family dinner and relaxed watching tv together, when we were treated by a surprise visit from Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron. Both of you were especially excited to see them and the two of you kept having Sister Kelly accompany you upstairs and around the house so she could see what the two of you have been up to, and so she could assist the two of you finding goodiesJ.

Both of you have your own adorable character traits already, you love to dance and make the most sophisticated faces, young Ms. Bodhi. And Buddha, you are always grabbing someone by the hand and directing them with the words “come on,” and you love posing with yoga moves, and you constantly point at things and inquire “eeese this?” You both are adorable beyond words, and Mommy and Daddy are both constantly astounded by how remarkably precious and incredibly, breathtakingly beautiful each of you are as persons. Wow. There are no words.

By nightfall, once again Mommy kept going beyond one’s imagination, while the three of us were ready to crash for a good night’s rest. Tomorrow the two of you look forward to a visit with Mommy and Grandma to the sea shore to go swimming, and Daddy continues to anguish over his work and pending surgeryL.

Sweet dreams, baby boy and baby girl and Mommy (whenever it is that you sleep). Love, love, love…
