Today was another back-to-school working day for Daddy, and
the two of you enjoyed your time with Mommy and assisted her in working on
projects to complete your dresser and mirror, Bodhi. Grandma came over to spend
time with both of you while Mommy mowed and Daddy was greeted
by the two of you playing on the porch with Grandma when I pulled into the
driveway. By the time Daddy got home from work, it was nap time for two little
angels and Daddy joined in on the nap time.
Toward the evening, Dianna Rudd and her family came by to see if we were going to the concert at the park, Mommy decided we would all go together. We enjoyed dinner and watched tv
together and then around 9 p.m. we headed to Foster Park to be entertained in
the last of the summer outdoor concert-in-the-park events. This one featured a
band called Pink Droid, which specializes in renditions of Pink Floyd songs and
provides an outdoor light show as well. We met Mommy’s friend Dianna and her
children, though they didn’t stay as long as we did, she had four children up past their bedtimes and had to get them all off to bed by herself. Bodhi, you danced and
danced and danced, as usual for you at a music event, and Buddha you danced
very briefly, then you were much more subdued than usual and spent most of the
time sitting on Daddy’s lap. The temperature was rather cool, so Daddy
eventually wrapped both of you in the only stadium blanket we brought with us
in the carriage. After about an hour, we recognized the signs of both of you
getting tired and a little chilled, so we headed back home. Our entourage
included Mommy and Allie leading the way, and Daddy pushing the carriage with
two angel babies aboard. On the way out of the park, Mommy spotted a young
woman vendor selling lighted “bunny ears” headbands, so the two of you lit up
our trail back homeJ.
It wasn’t long after we got home, the two of you were more
than ready for “night, night.” Mommy and Daddy got our hugs and kisses from
you, Buddha, then to your crib for much needed rest. Bodhi, you and Daddy
elected to have a slumber party downstairs in the living room, and Mommy as
usual stayed up into the early morning hours finishing house work and projects
and only Mommy knows what!
All-in-all today signaled the end of our summer and now with
school coming on, we are back to our fall schedule and anticipating Mommy and
Daddy’s favorite season. “Night, night,” Prince of the Vikings and Gypsy
Princess!!!
