Warm and Wet Wednesday

Wednesday is generally a Daddy day, but Daddy had an appointment with a spine surgeon today so most of your day was spent having fun with Mommy. As is now quite customary, Daddy and Bodhi enjoyed an early start to the day together (you are an Early Bird, Ms. BodhiJ). Mommy and Daddy took turns taking a shower (Daddy recommended to Mommy we shower together and conserve waterJ). After we all were dressed, Daddy was off to his doctor appointment.

Daddy learned at the doctor’s appointment that a surgery will be scheduled in the coming weeks to repair two damaged spinal disks, one in the upper spine and one in the mid-spine. Daddy was told to expect two weeks off work after the surgeryL. When Daddy questioned being off work, Dr. Reilly said ultimately it depends on the type of work and how tough an individual is; Daddy explained truthfully that he is tough and that he doesn’t work with a need for excessive hard physical labor (Daddy told him he is a “brainiac”), and Dr. Reilly responded that we’ll see how tough I feel (J) and that work involving sitting at a desk working on a computer and standing or even driving a vehicle can be challenging after this surgery. The procedure will involve placing titanium plates in the damaged disks, and the surgeon, Dr. Reilly, is very optimistic about a successful outcomeJ.

By the time Daddy got home, the two of you had already had an outdoor picnic with your Mommy, and were decked out in your swimming suits playing in the pool and darting around the yard and swing (“the darting around the yard and jumping on the swing and taking Mommy’s flowers while she was working on a project part applied to you, Mister BuddhaJ). Daddy repeatedly tells the two of you, and will continue to repeatedly tell you as Daddy believes it very important that you both appreciate and respect your blessings and loved ones and that your best mental health interests are assured by KNOWING, how incredibly fortunate and special you are to have such a remarkable Mommy—one whose energy never wanes around you and whose love showers over you virtually in an amazingly visible panorama of projects and activities and verbal and physical and emotional expressions of pure love and encouragement and nurturance and instruction and celebration of who you are and life more generally. Wow, it is a wonder to behold and literally leaves Daddy breathless and entranced in his love for his partner, your Mommy!!! Someday, I have no doubt, you will each reflect on this miracle of love, this blessing you both possess!!!

After lunch and swim and play time, we all J were off for an afternoon nap—Mommy was so flustered that she fell asleep for a nap---but Daddy understands it was her body sending her an important and too often unheeded messageJ.

When we awakened from our nap (gee, Daddy wonders if anyone can guess who was up first, Ms. Bodhi MoonbeamJ) we were all greeted with a very special happy surprise, a visit from Grandmoo!!! She played with the two of you until she simply couldn’t wait any longer to get home and take care of her kitties, then Daddy and the two of you watched your Nick Jr. program while Mommy went to work for a while, and then returned home to make dinner (Daddy helped, he cooked the meatballsJ). After dinner, after Mister Buddha Sunshine was asleep, the evening walk for Ms. Mommy, Ms. Allie and of course Ms. Bodhi Moonbeam took place and then off to bed for our entire family (even though Mommy always stays up late and finishes countless projectsJ).

“Night, night,” Ms. Moonbeam and Mister SunshineJ!!!

PS Mommy is so sorry, I didn't get any pictures today :(
