Today was an incredible day,
starting out early as usual for Daddy with several cups of coffee and several
pain pills to attempt to keep back pain and a toothache deep down into the chin
at bay! Neither the back pain nor the
pee-down-your-pant-leg-toothache-from-hell pain got any better, but the day
sure did!
After work, Daddy hurried to
GiGi’s to return her carpet cleaner and supplies and request an ironing of
Mommy’s shirt for our dinner party with Uncle Barry and Aunt Chris, which GiGi
graciously agreed to do for MommyJ.
While waiting for the shirt to be ironed, Daddy talked with GiGi and GiPa about
their new beautiful car and about our favorite subject---the two of youJ! After leaving GiGi
and GiPa, Daddy rushed to Handy Hardware (one of the coolest retail stores in
Kokomo) and had a spare set of house keys made and then rushed home to help
Mommy finish getting our house ready for Aunt Chris and Uncle Barry. Grandmoo
called and said they would be over a little after 1 p.m. When they arrived they
showered the two of you with gifts, a beautiful wooden cabinet to store your
new napkins, and plates, and wine glasses Ms. Bodhi and every conceivable ball
and bat and glove for you Mister BuddhaJ!
Mommy gave Uncle Barry and Aunt
Chris a tour of the house, and it was evident they loved our house and our
babies! We were preparing to leave for late afternoon lunch at Grindstone
Charlie’s when Sean Frankie stopped by briefly (Sister Kelly insists that
Brother Sean Frankie has an uncanny ability to stop by when food is about to
happenJ),
we invited him to join us for our outing at Grindstone Charlie’s but he said he
needed to get his mother’s car to her at the Howard County fair.
So off we went to Grindstone
Charlie’s—Daddy and Buddha in the Mustang, Uncle Barry and Aunt Chris in their
incredibly beautiful convertible and Mommy and Grandmoo and Bodhi in the Mazda.
We had a great lunch, a treat from Grandmoo, great food and a nice
conversation—Uncle Barry and Aunt Chris are so nice and Grandmoo is always a
special treat to spend time with! On the way out of the restaurant, you held
Uncle Barry’s hand Ms. Moonbeam and told Mommy you wanted to go visit his
house. We made our way over to Grandmoo’s for a visit before Aunt Chris and
Uncle Barry headed home. Again, it was fun to visit and it is so obvious that
Uncle Barry and Aunt Chris are smitten with the two of youJ!
After Uncle Barry and Aunt Chris
left to return home, we gave Grandmoo kisses and headed home ourselves for a
short nap before we headed off to the Howard County Fair (where you were indeed
the fairest of them all, Princess Bodhi {other than of course Queen Mommy}).
You braved the giant Ferris wheel Moonbeam while Daddy and your brother Buddha
just stood and watch you and your Mommy in wonderment! Then, you and Buddha rode
a bumper-boat ride and then the two of you and Mommy rode the Merry-Go-Round
together. It was a fun ending for a very special and fun day (though it was
taking its toll on you Moonbeam, as you became fussy and complained of a
tummy-ache and expressed that you wanted to go home and go to bed). So, we all made it home safely, but travel
weary and worn from a wonderful, happy full day of activitiesJ. Tomorrow is our
open-house for the Leeds house for sale, so we all settled in for the night
with our grown-up and baby fingers crossedJ.
Thank you, Grandmoo for a
wonderful special lunch, and thank you Aunt Chris and Uncle Barry for coming to
visit us and for all the gifts! Another special day of family love along the
mellow brick road
J.
