Buddha's Duck Derby Date with Momma

Today began much like yesterday, Bodhi, you are still feeling really sick! :(  You rarely get sick, but boy when you get it, you get it!  You were up early with Daddy and Mommy and Jude slept in, 9:30 a.m., and boy could Mommy get use to this Buddha!  We had arranged with GiGi to get you, Buddha, your first haircut, but with Bodhi being sick and it storming outside (YES, we finally got more much needed rain) we decided to postpone your "trim."  Great Papaw Grills is going to get a kick out of seeing your first haircut experience when we finally get it done! :)

Bodhi, you ate some toast, and you even managed to eat some of your GiGi dinner for lunch, that you didn't eat from last night. Since it was storming and since Bodhi was sick, Mommy kept you both indoors.  I made you both some popcorn and you two snuggled up to watch, yes, you guessed it... Rio!  GiGi, concerned for you, Bodhi, made a trip over to check in on you.  You break everyone's heart when you are sick, you are soooo sick.  By late afternoon, you were feeling some what better, Bo.  Mommy had to pack you and your brother in the car to stop by our Antique shop to give some directions with the construction of our dining room table... yes, finally!  We were gone all of 20 minutes, but when we returned, you both were ready for a nap.

Sean Franky came by to visit, but you two were in bed.  Mommy talked with Franky, he loves to chat hee/hee and by the time he left, you two were waking up.  Bodhi, you wanted your Mommy and so Mommy snuggled you and loved on you, but that wasn't good enough.  You started crying for your Daddy.  Mommy called Daddy to tell him, and he said he would be home right after his class.  We were all going to go to the Duck Derby race at Kokomo Beach, but that wasn't realistic for you, Ms. Bo.  When Daddy arrived home, Mommy took you, Jude, to the Duck Derby.  It was miserably hot, but we managed to get some free pizza and sprite out of the deal.  It would be a couple of hours before the swimming and Duck Derby would begin, so Mommy took you back home.  Bodhi, Mommy had promised Buddha that I would take him back to go swimming, but you wanted your Mommy.  Mommy held you and rubbed your head and back until Daddy convinced you to go back to him :(  Mommy then went to work conducting a random drop-in, as well as pick up more soup for Mommy's and Daddy's dinner.  When I returned home, it started storming so I figured our swimming adventure had to be cancelled.  However, the storm stopped and Mommy raced to get you, Buddha there in time to swim.  Mommy hasn't been to Kokomo Beach in over 21 years!  Mommy use to walk Mr. Murff around the pool when I was pregnant with both of you.  Grandmoo would often accompany Mommy on those walks, and she almost had Mommy convinced to sneak inside the pool and go swimming.  However, Mommy could just see the Tribune headline....pregnant lady and her dog caught swimming in the public pool at 1am. Grandmoo would escape in time, leaving Mommy and Mr. Murff stuck, I'm certain of it.

Anyway, Buddha, when we arrived you were weary of all the people and you didn't know what to think about the awesome baby pool, it had fountains and water toys everywhere.  However, you quickly became comfortable and enjoyed bouncing and splashing around.  You must know, Mommy really really loves you to go into public wearing a bathing suit.  I figured it was a perfect mother/son opportunity for some quality time, and Mommy really wanted to see up-close what was available.  We floated together on the lazy river, getting stuck once, and played in the baby area.  Other than the very strong chlorine, it was very nice.  You were content floating on the raft with Momma, smiling and flirting with all the cute lifeguard girls as we floated by them ha/ha  They thought you were a cute little booger!  We only got to swim for 45 minutes when they announced a bogus, "lightening" sighting on the other end of town, which requires them to shut down the pool for 30 minutes, and since it was 9:30 p.m., that meant that the 10pm swim party actually shut down at 9:30 p.m.  such suckers!  Mommy was so proud of her little baby boy though...there were tons of little boys screaming and crying, saying hateful things to their Mommy's about not allowing them to swim, you walked by them like a little man, in disbelief that they were causing such a scene!  Mommy told you what a good boy you were and you agreed, next week, we will be bring Bo Bo!

When we returned home, Daddy and Bo were sleeping on the couch, well, Bodhi was awake watching her shows. She was so excited to see you and immediately started sharing with us that she was feeling better and ready to go swimming :(  Poor baby!  Mommy promised that she would get to go on the raft too.  Bodhi, you handled the news that you wouldn't be going swimming tonight very well.

Mommy got you, Buddha tucked into bed, and Bo you ready to go go go.  Figures, you are not use to being indoors all day, and you definitely rested up all day long.  You helped Mommy clean up dishes and get things put away, and then Mommy tucked you in on the couch.  A few minutes later you were back up, with one of your party favors in hands.  When you had went to the bathroom, you discovered a box in the hallway.  Of course you had to go through it, and you pulled out your Hello Kitty party favors.  You then carried them upstairs, with a big smile on your face, and asked, "Mommy are these mine?"  Mommy explained that you are a stinker and that you weren't supposed to see your birthday supplies until your birthday.  You smiled, giggled, and agreed to not get back into the box.  Mommy had plans to finish up your invitations, but Mommy is now too tired :(  I'll get them out tomorrow, no matter what!

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes.  You both are such good babies, Mommy and Daddy are so blessed!

I wish I would have took my phone inside the pool to capture pictures of you, Buddha, however Mommy didn't want it to get stolen so I left it in the car.  Mommy really enjoyed our late night swim together!  I'll never forget you first Kokomo Beach experience!!!

Buddha eating your free Duck Derby pizza :)

We both wanted a bottle of water, but the guy running the "free" drink stand  insisted that people could only take a water with a "donation"... Mommy left her purse in the car, several blocks away... Bast&rds!  If Daddy were with us he would gave him a donation all right!
