Today, again, was exceptionally hot, the draught continues
and the heat is truly unbearable. Daddy was off early this morning to get Dora
to the appointment to have her spayed, and then get to his own appointment to
have some lab work done for his doctor. By the time Daddy got those tasks done,
Mommy was preparing the two of you to accompany her to see Dr. Mason and get
Allie up to date on her shots and wellness assessment. Daddy met all of you at
the Animal Hospital where we learned Allie is probably between 3 to 5 years
old, has probably survived in the wild (she has tapeworms, the most likely
source of which is from eating wild rabbit---we better not tell Sister Kelly).
Bodhi, you were well behaved at the Animal Hospital, and Buddha, Daddy had to
take you for a walk outside and keep you occupied so you wouldn’t get cranky.
Both you and your sister were intrigued by Peita the parrot at Dr. Mason’s
Animal Hospital---he kept talking to you, Buddha, and you kept waving your hand
at him and saying “hi.”J
By the time we got home and settled back in, Mommy made us
lunch of macaroni and cheese mixed with peas, and then all of us (yes, all of
us) settled in for a nap. Mommy got up from her brief nap and left to go pick
up Dora and while she was gone Daddy answered a couple of phone calls and came
downstairs, thinking he heard a baby crying and a dog barking---and sure
enough, Daddy looked out the back door to discover you had gone outside with
Allie, Bodhi! You told Daddy you had gone out to see Dora and couldn’t get back
in because the steps on the back porch were too hot, and hurt your feet!
OMG!!!! Mommy and Daddy both had a talk with you about never going out without
one of us!!!!
After naptime, Daddy had such a terrible headache that it
wasn’t a good idea to venture out in the heat with the two of you, so we all
went for a ride (well, Daddy and the two of you and Allie); Arlo stayed home
and Mommy went to work. After a while, Mommy got home from work and we took
Allie home and picked Mommy up to go for a ride in the country (along “Sleepy
Hollow Road”) and then went to Menards and picked up a few plants on clearance.
When we got home, Mommy cooked some potatoes and onions and
Daddy cooked some brats on the grill for dinner. A super surprise just as we
finished dinner, Grandmoo came over and spent time with the two of until
bedtime---you both were in heaven having Grandmoo to entertain and care for
you!
All-in-all, it was a worn-out, warm Wednesday, the kind of
day leaving you to think not much was accomplished---but we had time to spend
together, and that is always a special day, with two very special toddlers: a
Viking Prince and a Gypsy Princess! Love and Peace!!!
Enjoying some after dinner cookies and milk, yummmm :) |
