Dave Matthews Concert :) :) :) !!!

Today was a day we have all been waiting for: the Dave Matthews concert!!! Mommy loves Dave Matthews’ musical genius (and Dave MatthewsJ) and the two of you literally sing along when Mommy plays his cds in the carJ. This will be your third Dave Matthews concert Bodhi, though you have been to several concerts with Mommy and Daddy (and one with just Daddy and Brother Sean Franky). This will be your second Dave Matthews concert, and you, too, have attended several music concerts with Mommy and DaddyJ. Mommy was sort of sensitive about taking the two of you this year, someone made a condemning critical comment about the two of you being at a concert one time and Daddy suspects someone made some such type comment of Mommy’s Facebook or in some other forum. Mommy is a sensitive person, who thinks and reflects on what others think and say—she is a special person, and is the way she is because of who she isJ. Daddy has a very hard, callous side about him, quite frankly, and is the sort to tell such people to go fuck themselves---and yes, Daddy sometimes engages in profane expression to illustrate his passion and purpose in what he has to say. Daddy hopes the two of you always take after your Mommy, as she is the better person of our twosome, and make no mistake, Mommy can be a very tough, and is a very strong person in her own right. Daddy also intends for the two of you to enjoy the inner peace of being your own persons and cultivate the comprehension that others can sometimes be wrongheaded, hurtful, and fucking stupid. You needn’t ever suffer inside for the conduct of others—hurtfully expressive, mean and thoughtless judgmental type people are monsters, the real kind, not make-believe, who traffic in misery and evil intention. You both will do well to intentionally avoid such people, and on occasions when exposure to such folks is unavoidable due to circumstances or situations—well I trust you will zealously cling to the human kindness that defines your mother and I pray will be the default setting within each of you and still have the human imperfection of your Daddy’s influence and possess the capability to discharge the truth, if even harshly and in full command of the majesty of human expression. Always defend yourselves and one another, and do not dismiss the duty to be on the offensive against monsters and evil.

Our special day started with Daddy off to work early, and the two of you sharing breakfast with Mommy. When Daddy got home from work, we were off to the Farmer’s Market for a cookie and herbal tea, and then the two of you demandedJ we go see Grandmoo, so we set our carriage sail along the mellow brick road on a course setting for Grandmoo! Along the way, Daddy made a stop at Walgreen’s and purchased a tuna salad sandwich, and we stopped over at Foster Park to have a picnic together and play. Afterwards, we made our way to Grandmoo’s and she was so excited to see the two of you, both of you enthusiastically went inside Grandmoo’s and began playing with toys, eating Grandmoo’s cheese (you are both mooches), and Bodhi you of course put your slippers onJ. We visited Grandmoo for about an hour, then made our way home (it is always difficult to pull you away from Grandmoo) where we all enjoyed another lunchJ and then naptime.
While Buddha still slept Bodhi (this is becoming a habitJ), you and Daddy made off for a few quick errands before leaving for the concert—we purchase you a pair of shorts and a bohemian gypsy dress outfit, dropped off some “re-cyclables,” and got air in our carriage tires (which were in need for some timeJ). When we returned, Brother Sean Franky was at the house to dog-set for a while and take Allie for a walk after we left for the concert.

Off we went, stopping for a cheese pizza to eat along the way, and then to the concert! It was a grueling and hot process to work our way to the front gate and some young man with the awesome power and responsibility to judge the acceptability of those seeking admission initially challenged Mommy whether our carriage would be permitted entry; Mommy responded with that characteristic aura that Daddy believes only Mommy’s possess that emits a subtle, but clear message “don’t tread on me” and explained that our carriage has been permitted in numerous previous concert events without incident. Here is a lesson for babies about the cruel realities of the real world: history and numerous social science experiments have affirmed that when individuals are given power and/or authority over others, the consequence is that even good people often become dicks, and in some instances become monsters. Daddy and Mommy expect the two of you to come to understand this, and to always defend yourselves and others against the tyranny and injustice of ignorance and human cruelty. Yep.

After passing through the checkpoint, we made our way to lawn section way to the top where Mommy selected a perfect spot for us to put down our blankets, fold our carriage, and lay out our goodies we brought along and dance and sing with the gifted musicians of the Dave Matthews Band. Folks all around us were literally astounded and mesmerized by the two of you, judging from their behavior, as they complimented us on how beautiful and special the two of you are, you both danced with strangers and clearly celebrated a festival of love and peace that Dave Matthews Band concerts conventionally provide. What a night!

Mommy volunteered to navigate us home, and for the most part the two of you slept happily along the trail. When we arrived home, we changed your diapers and settled you both in for a peaceful sleep in our own home (initially, we were concerned that something had happened to Arlo and Allie as they showed no sign of being home, until Mommy found them asleep (like the story of the Three Little Bears) in Mommy and Daddy’s bedroom. Jude you wrapped yourself around one of the lighted balloons you and your sister were given by some neighbor concert goers (a thoughtful young woman who made several comments to Mommy and Daddy about how incredible the two of you are blew up some balloons with a light inside each one and gave each of you and Daddy a balloon to take homeJ). Bodhi, you and Daddy had a slumber party in the living room and Mommy “crashed” in Mommy and Daddy’s bed with Allie.

Truly, what a remarkable night, we are so blessed!!!!
