A Hot, Sleepy Sunday

Today, all of us slept in, including Daddy and Bodhi (which is exceptionally rare, it seems we were all exhausted from yesterday. Grandma Holsapple called around 8:30 a.m. and spoke with Daddy and Bodhi, and then Mommy and Buddha started stirring and getting out of bed.

Daddy made breakfast for all of us, coffee (not for babies), apple juice (for babies), toast, hard-boiled eggs (Mommy gets sick if she tries to eat eggs recently, so she didn’t have any, instead Daddy made Mommy toast with peanut butter and honey), and raspberries (she and you almost can’t get enough of, Buddha—the two of you love fruit, but you especially are a fruit lover little manJ). After breakfast, we all made a trip to Menards where we stalked up on some goodies (cereal and beef jerkey), some cleaning supplies, and some materials for one of Mommy’s home improvement projects. It was an incredibly hot morning, and we had to ride with the windows down in the car and the air conditioner on full blast to make the trip bearable!

By the time we made it home, we enjoyed a lunch of lasagna and then settled down for an afternoon nap, but only you enjoyed the nap time, Buddha. Mommy stayed busy working, and Bodhi you would not sleep so Daddy stayed up with you, Daddy thinks it was too hot for you to be comfortable and that you were just too tired to rest (you both will understand someday that that can happenJ). It showed later in the day that you didn’t get a nap, though, Bodhi as you were very unusually cranky—not your normal sweet dispositionJ.

By early evening, Daddy cooked some hamburgers on the grill for dinner and we had hamburgers and potato chips for dinner (Mommy almost crushed you a little earlier, Buddha, pulling out an ice tray from the freezer and it came crashing to the floor, and partly on youL. The two of you played outside while Daddy was cooking, and Mommy continued working on her projects, but again it was so extremely hot we didn’t stay out long.

After dinner, Mommy took the two of you baby angels upstairs and scrubbed you both down in the bathtub—you were both overdue for a good bathJ with our active weekend of activities. And now it is almost time for Mommy to announce “One, two, three, four—who let the monkeys out the door”…which is our drill for heading upstairs for bed.

Kiss time for Daddy, first, from Mommy’s Little Sunshine and Little Moonbeam and Daddy’s Viking Prince and Gypsy Princess!!! JJ!!!

Now night night for Momma... as soon as I upload pictures.  It's 12:30 a.m. and Mommy just stopped working on the cabinet refinishing project :)

Bodhi having another slumber party with her Daddy downstairs... socks on the floor just like her Daddy!  I would have included a picture of Daddy, he is sleeping identical to this position... but it's not a pretty sight ha/ha!

Stage 4 of a 6 stage cabinet transformation... the alcohol is looking better and better as the project progresses! :)-

the glaze process... to be continued tomorrow!

My craft table I finished a couple of weeks ago... it's still in the dining room, the top not centered and attached to the base yet, waiting for me to finish the craft room walls so it can go to it's permanent home.  The dining room is home base for all of Mommy's crazy projects.

Bed #3 for Mr. Arlo... a blue velvet bed.  It will eventually go at the foot of Mommy's and Daddy's bed... once all of Mommy's craft room supplies are re-located to the craft room.  Probably should have finished my craft room before painting the kitchen and before starting to refinish the cabinets.  An antique store find at $50.o0 dollars!
