Hot Hot Hot

This morning started out just as every Saturday starts out... Daddy heading to work at 7:45 a.m. and the rest of us rolling out of bed behind him.  Bodhi, you wanted pop tarts for breakfast, real nutritious, but a nice sweet treat to start our Saturday morning.  Buddha, you wanted to lay in your big boy bed, and then you proceeded to try to take the sports ball knobs off of your new dresser... Mommy made you come downstairs with Mommy and Bodhi while I made pop tarts.  After breakfast you two started playing and Mommy started working on "work" paperwork, ugggh!  Mommy got herself all stressed out, and I actually snapped at you, Bodhi.  You weren't doing anything wrong, just whining a bit, fussing at your brother and Mommy yelled at you real nasty like... something Mommy recognized right away as "bad Mommy," so I apologized and you asked for a hug, so we hugged and hugged and hugged!  After Daddy got off work he headed to Old Navy ha/ha!  He was adament about picking you guys up some $1.00 flip flops since you both are obsessed with wearing Mommy's and Daddy's.  Daddy called to report that he was standing in line with about 100 other people (no joke) people were lined up for miles ha/ha!  He was a trooper though, he stood there and got you each a couple of pairs, some for next year too.  Mommy was cracking up that Daddy actually waited in line to get flip flops. :)

Once home, Daddy wanted to take you two for a walk downtown where the Haynes Apperson Festival was going on.  He bought you both an icy to drink...he said you two were so hot, as was Daddy.  Daddy reports that you Bodhi, got several brain freezes drinking yours down!  Daddy said he could see it on your face and you shook your little hands in a desperate attempt to make it stop.  Poor little thing!  Once you all arrived home, Mommy stopped working to make lunch.  You both were beyond ready for bed, but once Mommy put you down, you decided you didn't want a nap after all.  Well, this has been an ongoing battle, so Mommy gave you three warnings.  The fourth time Mommy turned off your tv in your room and let you cry it out.  You have to have your tv on go to sleep.  You don't just get upset, you have a mental breakdown if the tv isn't on, it's a major comfort for you, ugggh!

Buddha, you were the first to wake up, but much later than usual.  Daddy wasn't feeling well, he a major migraine, so Mommy packed you up and took you with me to exchange some handles I had previously bought for our kitchen cabinets.  Mommy let you pick out an interactive book, Bodhi picked out an interactive Dora book, and well Buddha, you didn't show an interest in it until we arrived home.  It had been non-stop fighting over the book for a couple of days now.  When Mommy unloaded our bags, and then was unloading you, Mommy realized we had walked right out of the store without paying for the book.  Mommy ran straight back inside to pay for it... we can't afford any bad Karma!  On our way home, Mommy stopped off to pick up some Kentucky fried chicken for dinner.  While we were eating dinner GiGi called to see if she and Gi-Pa could stop over so that Bodhi could show Gi-Pa how she rides her big girl Dora bike.  Bodhi, our neighbors were out and you acted embarrassed and wouldn't really pedal.  You were pre-occupied with all the boys... Ummmm NO!  No boys for you Bo, never ever!  Mommy had to do a drop, so Daddy came outside to swing with you both while Mommy went to work.  When I got home I threw you both in a bath, and then Buddha you were off to bed.  Bodhi, you went with Mommy to give Allie a walk.  You love our evening walks, and you are so darn observant!  Mommy also loves our evening walks together :)

Sweet dreams my sweet babes!

Finally Friday

Finally Friday, and thank goodness! What a week for Daddy, an appointment with a family physician who intends to consult with an endocrinologist about Daddy’s overall health, especially almost non-stop urination and perspiration and insatiable appetite for salt (and food generally); a major dental intervention requiring a root canal and re-cementing an upper bridge (the two hour procedure hurt Daddy’s back more than his mouth!); a meeting with a dermatologist to have spots on the face and head being burned off; and a major procedure on his back on Thursday!!!

At least Daddy woke up with only a slight headache and moderate back pain, and got kisses from the two of you and Mommy before running off to school. The two of you were off to Aunt Ti’s and we didn’t see the two of you again until Aunt Ti brought you back to the house around 7:00 p.m. Mommy and Daddy both had work today, and after Daddy was able to get away he went grocery shopping for us at Sam’s Club and Kroger’s. Sean Franky stopped by to borrow the Mustang for the weekend, and helped Daddy carry in groceries as we both arrived at the house at about the same time.

Mommy and Daddy made a run to pick up a dresser and hutch for your room, Buddha, and it looks very nice in your room, and Daddy has no doubt Mommy will really spruce it up before she is doneJ.
After Aunt Ti dropped the two of you back home, you both got a special treat from a surprise visit from GiGi and Grandmoo and Sister Kelly. They took the two of you outside where you showed everyone your new “Dora” bicycle with training wheels Mommy purchased for you today for $5. They also treated you to ice cream and lots of play time!

Around 9:00 p.m. everyone was leaving as Mommy returned home from being out to dinner with her friend Gabby. By that time, you both were ready for “night, night” and so were Mommy and Daddy. Daddy was definitely feeling better than yesterday, bolstered in part by getting his watch back from repair at Strickler Jewelers (they are remarkably nice folks!!!) and mostly due to the dizziness and nausea and head and neck pain dissipating. All-in-all, it was finally Friday and the welcome end to a long week (and a welcome to a rain/thunder storm—we even lost power for several hours). We are all looking forward to a great weekend together!

So, “night, night!”

Happy Birthday Mr. Stiner!  (Aunt Ti's Daddy's birthday is today)!  AND thank you Aunt Ti for taking pictures with your cell phone and forwarding them to me!!! I know it's a lot of work, and all because the camera got forgot at Grandmoo's... SO, THANK YOU! :)

Bodhi, Trevor, and Ellie :)

Everyone dancing... Buddha dancing with Ellie, I can't imagine how that went over with your BFF, Lizzie?

A Troubled Thursday

Today was quite a day for everyone, an especially troubled day for Daddy. Mommy had the two of you up and ready for a pleasant visit with GiGi and GiPa. Daddy was off before the two of you left, as he had an appointment at his surgeon’s office for a spinal procedure. The procedure involved three injection sites for administration of medicine into his cervical spine, into a specific disc. The procedure was “discomforting,” to say the least. By the time Daddy returned home, the two of you had already gone to see GiGi and GiPa and Mommy was at work.

Daddy stayed home awhile, trying to get some things done on the computer, and trying to “manage” the massive head ache and upper back-neck pain, which felt as though he had been hit by a sledgehammer; Daddy also felt nauseous and dizzyL. Daddy had to get to school, as he had a class to meet, but as you would say, Bodhi, “oh my golly”…it hurt soooooooooooooo bad!!!
Daddy had to accommodate a special needs student by dropping off an exam at the library so that the student could take the exam in a “quiet room” there, then off to class. But the headache, backache and dizziness and nausea continued to get worse, so finally the good people Daddy works with offered that Kellly (yes, our Sister Kelly) could come down and monitor the exam and so by 4:00 p.m. Daddy headed home and back to bed!

The two of you, Buddha and Bodhi, were back from GiGi’s and napping, and Mommy encouraged Daddy to get some rest, too. Daddy was barely conscious when Mommy told him she was taking the two of you for an afternoon treat to spend time with Grandmoo. Daddy later heard reports of how much fun the two of you had at both GiGi’s and Grandmoo’s (which is never a surprise) and especial comments were made about how observant about all sorts of small and large details you are, Bodhi. And, of course, how handsome you are, Buddha.

Daddy doesn’t remember much else about this very troubled Thursday, sleep came and went throughout the night, with Daddy wondering if this procedure was going to work and help avoid the next step of a formal back surgery---but it seems there is no avoiding the inevitable, troubled though Daddy remains about it all.
Thinking of much better thoughts, “night, night” Viking Prince and Gypsy Princess!!!

The Real Wednesday Story

Ha/ha, your Daddy named Tuesday's post An Alternate Plan Wednesday...and the sad thing is, Mommy didn't even catch the mistake!   Mommy and Daddy are always running around like crazy people.  Anyway,  Daddy was off to another doctor's appointment early this morning and when he arrived home he insisted on taking the two of you for a carriage ride, and he even took Ms. Allie!  Mr. Arlo is like Mommy, and not so much a morning person/fuzzy.  So, Mr. Arlo stayed behind as you two and Ms. Allie went on a park adventure. Grandmoo went to the doctor today and is hopeful the medications she was prescribed will take care of the crud she has, Daddy opted not to make the routine Grandmo stop today.  Aunt Ti is still feeling horrible, as she refuses to go to the doctor, not wanting to incur another doctor bill, which who can blame her.  So we are hopeful Grandmoo and Aunt Ti get to feeling better soon!

While you two were away, Mommy ran some errands, dropping off garage sale items bought by people on FB etc... A super secret shout out goes to Sister Kelly :)  Daddy reported when you two arrived home, you all ate lunch and Bodhi, you said you wanted to go to bed.  Buddha, you were not happy about Mommy not being home to tuck you in to bed.  Daddy says you were shouting and crying, "Mommy's doll, I want my Mommy!"  Poor little guy, broke my heart when Daddy told me.  You are talking soooooo much, Buddha!  You are even minding so much more lately, this makes Mommy so happy :)  Bodhi, you have been a bundle of love these last few days.  Mommy can't help but to give you bear hugs!  While you two were napping Mommy and Daddy talked about you two and how darn special and fast you two are growing up :(  Before either of us new it, a happy little Bodhi was coming down the stairs, peaking her head around the staircase with a big smile on her face, and shouts of "Mommmeeeeee, Mommma," were coming from Jude's room.  We decided to take yet another Menards trip to purchase supplies... spray paint, for several of Mommy's projects.  Bodhi, you suckered Mommy and Daddy into getting you an expensive Dora the Explorer book with sound buttons, and Jude, we stopped by the Dollar Store because we couldn't find you anything at Menards.  Mommy picked you out a balloon, you all time favorite thing ever!  When we arrived back, Sean Franky was waiting on us.  Franky played with you both until he had to get going.  Mommy also had to get going, making up work hours this evening.  Daddy was left to make you both dinner and play with you both for the remainder of the evening.

When Mommy arrived home from work, you, Bodhi said you wanted to go to bed.  Mommy read you and your brother your new Dora book (twice) as well as a few other books.  Mommy then got you both settled in for the night.  Ha!  Bodhi, you were back up and refusing to go to bed within minutes.  You decided that you wanted to have a slumber party with Mommy :)

Tomorrow you both will be going to GiGi's while Mommy attends some additional training to care for shelter animals after they have surgery.  Then Mommy will be working on organizing work documents, and cleaning Mommy's and Daddy's room.  It's a horrid mess!  Sweet dreams my sweet babes, Moonbeam and Sunshine!  Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

I bet Daddy was having a cow when you were swinging from the bar ha/ha

Mommy thinks you and your brother were trying to give your Daddy a heart attack!

Passed out next to Mommy and Ms. Allie :)

An Alternate Plan Wednesday

Well, as is now the norm, Bodhi you and Daddy started the day very, very, very early. Daddy was trying to sleep on the couch, he just can’t get comfortable anywhere and around 4 a.m. here comes the pitter patter of little Ms. Emilia. You get up and come downstairs, find Daddy and ask that Nick Jr. be turned on on the TV!
Daddy had an oral surgery appointment at 7:30 a.m., an upper bridge broke loose and major root canal and bridge readjustment and re-posting followed—Daddy some fourteen hours later is in excruciating pain—his mouth, his back, his constant cramping and charley-horses in his muscles—wow!

So Daddy was off to his dental appointment, and you Bodhi were on the couch watching Nick Jr.! Daddy locked all the doors to inhibit you from wandering outside, announced to Mommy that he was off, and kissed his baby girl goodbye. Several hours later, Daddy stopped by to pick up some things for work he forgot and you two, Bodhi and Buddha were fully engaged in your day with Mommy. Daddy got off to work and later Mommy called to inform him that Aunt Ti was sick, Grandmoo was sick, and GiGi was gone so Mommy was going to have to miss work and look after the two of you; Daddy had appointments with students and an afternoon class so he couldn’t get away, though he wanted to give Mommy some time for work and spend time himself with two angelsJ.

But as usual, the two of you came out on top: Mommy let the two of you make mud pies, dry flowers, “help” her paint Buddha’s “big boy” bed, you will be transitioning to from your crib soonJ. You both got to play outside and help take care of Arlo and Allie, and Ella and Dora, and overall had fun, fun, fun in the afternoon sun.

The next few days Mommy and Daddy will have to shelter the two of you (and themselves and the animals) from the oppressive heat—it is estimated that before weeks end the temperature will reach 105 degrees!

Daddy stopped by from school before going to his next job and found that Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron and their new “wolf-looking” dog, Karma, had stopped by to visit. Karma is a truly beautiful animal, like all of oursJ. Sister Kelly had just had her hair colored a “candy apple red” color and she looked beautiful also! Again, away Daddy had to whisk to workL.

By the time Daddy got home, he and Mommy carried Buddha’s “big boy” blue bed into the house, and Mommy got the two of you off for a quick bath and bedtime (not before sneaking out with you Buddha to walk Allie around the block). All-in-all, though a day requiring alternate plans, the two of you, our little Viking Prince and Gypsy Princess, had a great Mommy day. Sweet dreams, sweet babies!!!

Six hours later, 2:00 a.m., and Mommy just got done cleaning the house and finishing up a few projects.  :)  Off to bed we go!

Sister Kelly and her new awesome hair, Karma, and Brother Aaron :)

Sprinkler was a bust... so we filled up Mr. Arlo's pool so that you could use the water to water flowers around the yard :)

Bodhi, you also watered Mr. Arlo :)

Nice Buddha!  Boots in the pool, of course!

Our neighbor, Autumn, came over to play with you both for a while.

You two were super excited to play mud monsters... and chase Autumn around the yard.

Flowers drying to be made into wreaths... they are sure to dry out quick with this heat wave on it's way!

Some new blooms in Mommy's magical flower garden :)

The best yard accessories ever! :)

Another bloom...

This is after I cut about 30 flowers off of it!
