Well Bodhi and Buddha, our long days are beginning to run on one into the other, and this one was no exception.
Mommy and Daddy got up to an early start, Daddy trying to get some last minute details ironed out for his two college courses this morning, and then both Mommy and Daddy got themselves ready for work and the two of you ready to go off to spend part of the day with Aunt Ti and the gang.
It was overcast this morning, and began to lightly rain as we prepared to get the two of you loaded into Mommy’s car, when to our delight (especially Mommy who had been wishing for this out loud for some time now) we observed a full, beautifully colored rainbow in the western sky. Mommy of course got the Nikon out and began her photo documenting efforts as Daddy finished getting the two of you settled safely into the car. Mommy said it was her Murff rainbow, and it made her morning! Right after Mommy took several pictures and put her camera away, the rainbow quickly disappeared. Then off we all went to our day’s activities.
Daddy came directly home after his teaching this morning to meet Mommy and get the two of you settled for naps, while Mommy and Grandmoo went off to Indianapolis to bring Murffee home. Sean Francis stopped by briefly while the two of you slept, so that he could borrow Daddy’s car to go visit Ariel in Wabash this weekend; he is helping her move into her own place and he was looking forward to an opportunity to help and to see her. Daddy waited the remainder of the afternoon anxiously for Mommy and Grandmoo to get back home with Mr. Murffee.
Jude, you awakened just moments before Mommy pulled into the drive, you seem to have a sense for such things. Mommy and Grandmoo helped Mr. Murff get back into the house and get settled, and then Mommy and Grandmoo explained to Daddy that after a complete diagnostic assessment of Murffee the veterinarian specialist remained uncertain as to what exactly is debilitating poor Murff. He sent home some pain medication for him, with some instructions he will continue to evaluate information we provide and consult with another animal physician about Murffee’s many symptoms. Sooooo…a good deal of uncertainty remains about Murffee, and we all are hopeful the rainbow this morning will translate into some good karma for Murffee and that we will witness a rehabilitation from his suffering.
Around evening time, Mommy and Daddy took the two of you in your stroller downtown to the street festival, and Bodhi you had an opportunity to sample some old-fashioned sarsaparilla soda (caffeine free). You both seemed to enjoy the outing (as you always do on such adventures), though Bodhi you flipped out when we approached to closely to one of the noisy, big carnival rides; you have been very sensitive to loud, disruptive noises (especially engine-related noises) lately, but Mommy and Daddy managed to soothe your anxiety, and we picked up some oriental food to bring home with us for Mommy’s and Daddy’s dinner. Of course when we got home we all shared our dinner with one another, so both of you had your first sampling of oriental and street carnival food. Bodhi you were especially affectionate by the time we had finished eating (especially with Mommy) and you fed Murffee and Arlo some natural food dog treats we picked up at the festival. Bodhi, you were the first to go off to bed, and Grandmoo came over shortly thereafter and played with you Buddha for about thirty minutes before Mommy took you off to be as well.
As Daddy hurriedly finishes the blog tonight, I am already thinking how nice it will be to lay down on the bed and close my eyes until tomorrow morning when I’m off to my Saturday morning job, and then look forward to a holiday weekend spent as a family.
Welcome home Murffee, we’re hoping for the best, and in our meditations praying that the rainbow brings us some magic medicine to end your suffering! We are prepared for the worse but hoping for the best, and we are prepared to do whatever it takes to end your suffering. The medicine has definitely provided you with some much needed relief, and we’ll make the most of this week until we hear back about your prognosis. We are just so happy to have you home and more comfortable!
Good Morning! |
Mr. Murff Rainbow ;) |
Bodhi, you always get so serious when you're first put in the stroller, however, you both start cutting up a few minutes into our walks :) Juders you were super excited right off the bat! |
Buddha, you're hair is getting so long :) YAY! You also cut your first teefer today :). |
Bodhi taking her first drink of sarsaparilla soda, mmmmm mmm mmm! |
It was so funny watching you two as we first entered the festival. We often walk this path, but today it was like entering a different world. :) |
