Today was a fun-filled, full day! Daddy got off to an early start at work this morning, and continues to suffer a terrible tooth-ache, but we so look forward to our Saturdays that nothing was going to get in the way of a family day! Mommy got off to an early start as both you two, Bodhi and Buddha, were up and at ‘em early today!
When daddy got home from work, we all got dressed and went to the outdoor Farmer’s Market downtown; we always look forward to getting some fresh farm eggs, some pastry of some kind or another and looking at the crafts and visiting with folks. Today we got a small fruit pie, some pumpkin and banana bread and some Friendship Bread, we’re certainly looking forward to trying some of that and sharing it with Grandmoo! Of course we also bought our farm fresh eggs from our friends from the Amish farm.
Afterwards, we had to stop by the post office for Mommy to get something sent out, and then we hurried home to drop off our bounty, then off to the grocery store. We were all excited about going to the grocery store because we were certainly running on empty in the refrigerator and pantry! Bodhi and Buddha, you two got to ride in the “car” cart and drive us around the store, by the time we were ready for check out you two were ready to be checked out as wellJ, so Daddy took the two of you out to the car where we waited for Mommy. After we got home, we hurried to unpack the groceries, and Mommy had to hurry to an appointment.
Daddy helped you to your nap, Bodhi, then Daddy fed Jude lunch and worked to keep you awake, Jude, until Mommy was done with her appointment and a quick trip to Target to pick up some baby food, and then home to nurse you down for your nap, Jude. We all ended up taking a much needed nap, though while everyone was sleeping Daddy got a phone call from Aunt Debbie and had to explain why we can’t come down tomorrow for Abby’s wedding shower. We just can’t leave Murffee unattended, and Daddy is taking pain medicine about every three hours which makes him sleepy---such a trip is just too much to take on. We’re all disappointed in not being able to see one another, especially Mommy, but Aunt Debbie says she understandsL
After nap-time, we made a trek over to Greentown to attend the Howard County Fair. Though it was hot as the dickens, we truly had a great outing. You two were in wonderment at seeing an elephant, we enjoyed some (a little) fair food, including an old-fashioned sarsaparilla (which you and mommy love, Bodhi), and Bodhi you threw some balls into some small containers and won yourself and your brother each a goldfish (Jude’s is white, like his hair!)---you absolutely went crazy over your goldfish, Bodhi, and when we got home Grandmoo came over and was amazed (and hysterically laughing) at how excited you are, Bodhi, over having a pet goldfish! JJ Mommy made us stop off at Walmart to buy some fish supplies: food, water conditioner, rocks, a plant, and of course a bowl. Mommy says it’s important to teach you both to properly care for all living things and to provide them with the best life possible.
Mommy nursed Jude to sleep, and you, Bodhi chilled out with Daddy until Mommy finished with Jude. Then Mommy gave you a bath to wash all the fair particles off of you. It would have been cruel and unusual punishment if Mommy gave Ju Ju a bath this late... especially since he now screams the whole time he's in the bath :( Bodhi, you were all tuckered out and baby fresh for bed!
These are the days that make for sweet dreams and believed-in-wishes---and there is absolutely nothing like family!!! Sleep happily and gently you Princess and Prince of Indiana, you special, special, special blessings!
