These have been extremely long, hot days recently and today was no exception. Both Daddy and Mommy worked all day, after getting you two, Bodhi and Jude, off to Aunt Ti’s. The weather recently has been classified as a heat advisory period throughout the mid-west, but today the weather was upgraded to a heat warning—heat indexes exceeding 100 degrees. Still, even though it was a long and hot and tiring day, we were all jazzed about going to the Verizon Center (formerly called Deer Creek-a tell about corporate America if ever there was one) for your first rock concert, Jude!
Around 5:30 p.m. we started getting ready for our outing, Mommy had packed lots of goodies consisting of iced cold water, crackers, cheese, and of course diapersJ and daddy organized the blankets and umbrella and made sure we got everything packed in the car for our adventure. Brother Sean came by and offered his help in getting the two of you, Emilia Bodhi and Jude Liam, ready---all decked out in your concert outfits. Franky took some parting photos of the hippie family pulling out of the driveway.
Once at Verizon, we situated ourselves on the lawn in a small area of shade and immediately protected the two of you with the umbrella, and continued your hydration with copious amounts of cold water. You both did fine, and we fully enjoyed Jude’s first rock concert! Honestly, it truly was enjoyable, we do love our concertsJ, though certainly hot outside, we weathered the outdoors quite well (no pun originally intendedJ). By the time we made it home, though, the heat had clearly taken its toll, and we were all off to slumberville in a jiffy. Sometimes it just doesn’t get any better than a soft bed, especially in our own loving home!
PS Bodhi, Aunt Ti was doing Lizzie’s hair in pig tails today and you sat and watched very closely. Aunt Ti asked you if you wanted pig tails and you nodded yes. Aunt Ti took the sweetest pictures of you and your piggy’s (and texted them to Mommy's phone while she was working, which I love getting)… your 1st ever piggy tails!!! You looked adorable! J
