The Day After—Christmas 2012

The eventful setting for the day after Christmas 2012 came midnight, when you became violently ill Emilia BodhiL. Daddy awakened by your cries and discovered, as you announced, that you had vomited on your bed and all over the floor of your bedroom. Daddy relocated you to a couch downstairs in the living room, hurriedly cleaned your room and stuffed your bedding in the wash, and then cuddled you and attempted to comfort you as you worked through what seemed so similar to what your brother had suffered a week ago.  Buddha, you were snuggled in bed with Mommy, you had snuck in after Mommy had fallen asleep.  You always sleep face to face with Mommy, arms wrapped tightly around Momma’s neck J

As you struggled to intermittently rest and again get sick, Daddy observed the arrival of what had been predicted as the blizzard of 2012. While caring for you, Daddy also called to check and make sure Sister Kelly had made it safely to work, to learn she too was violently sick and had come in and gone back home. Daddy also called Brother Sean Francis and checked on him, and learned he had gone in to work, and he stated he would stop by at some point to check on his baby sister.

Mommy and your baby brother awakened to join in an effort to comfort you, our precious baby girl. In fact, Mommy and Buddha even later ventured out to get some nausea medicine for you! And while they were out, Mommy called and informed you your little brother (and best friend, by your own stated observation to your Aunts while in VincennesJ) had picked out a Hello Kitty nightgown-princess gown for Mommy to get youJ. Brother Franky came and picked Momma and Buddha up to join them in their task of acquiring some medicine.

While Mommy, Buddha, and Franky weathered (literally) a blizzard, Daddy attempted to comfort you through several more violent vomit episodes with modest sips of ginger ale. Finally, you informed Daddy you wanted to try some chicken noodle broth (at Daddy’s initial suggestion) and you seemed to manage that well and indeed seemed to perk up a little. Still, you were not out of the woods, as the expression goes, and you remained a focus of all our attention throughout the day and night.

Daddy couldn’t help reflect that both he and cousin Chrissie were clearly not feeling well these past few days, and couldn’t help suspect that you and Sister Kelly perhaps picked up a bug from usL. All-in-all, our concerns for you and your brother’s natural energy level combined to wear both Mommy and Daddy down, and we all looked forward to a night’s rest.

Tomorrow Daddy returns to work, and hopes that you will fully recover with a good night’s rest occupies the thoughts of Daddy as he attempts to organize some work papers to take in with him. Your Mommy also remains thoughtful of you resting comfortably and feeling better tomorrow, so that we can all join in a happy and healthy reflection on an eventful and exceptional Christmas season!

“Night, night,” precious Princess and Prince, love beyond your present comprehension surrounds and protects you, each of you!

Mommy just went outside at 2am in a tank and sweat pants to take these pictures ha/ha :)-

If you look closely, you can see Dora Kitty (on the right) and Baby Ella (on the left) sleeping on  their window seats, in their comfortably heated cat house
