Carly and Wendell are squirrels.
We are not certain they live in our back yard, but they certainly spend a great
deal of time eating breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Daddy purchased a box-crate
of ear corn and regularly puts several out each day. One of the two, either
Carly or Wendell,
is big enough to be three squirrels. They are a hoot to watch.
Morning was our usual routine,
Daddy was up early and off to work for his morning two-hour job. You both and Mommy were supposed to be getting ready to accompany Daddy to a funeral, but you two were up most of the night and decided to sleep in, so Mommy let you. Upon returning
home, everyone was enjoying toast and Mommy was beginning to prepare bacon—um,
yum, yum—for brunch. Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron stopped by, and the two of
you damn near wore her out playing with her and demanding she accompany the two
of you upstairs to play in your rooms (“come on,” is your standard invitation, Buddha). After the two of you
wore her out and you returned to the living room, you proceeded to continue to
wear both Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron out, Jude Liam, by energetically
climbing all over them like a monkey!
After Sister Kelly and Brother
Aaron were worn out and decided they needed to move on, all of us got our “get
out of the house” clothes on and went antiquing. We first went to our favorite
antique store on Sycamore Street and there Mommy found two oval picture frames
she believes will perfectly fit our needs for each of your recent pictures. Mommy has been researching online for some time, and she couldn't believe the unbelievably low price on these two huge gems. They are believed to be early 1920's. Mommy also purchased Daddy an “antique” neck tie and a shaving bowl/mortar for
our downstairs bathroom. The picture frames are on “hold” until our next
payday. Next we went to another one of our favorite antique shops on U.S. 31
and Vaile, but we merely looked around and then Mommy remembered she was
supposed to meet someone at the house to sale one of you coats, Buddha. So, we
headed home where we all enjoyed a nap and where Mommy realized her meeting for
the coat sale is tomorrow.
We all enjoyed our nap, then
ventured back out on the antiquing trail where Mommy found a metal candle
holder she wanted very much---so Merry Christmas, MommyJ! After our tour of the
antique store concluded, we drove through Highland Park to enjoy the Christmas
light display, only to discover that you were sound asleep, Ms. Bodhi. After
our venture to Highland Park, Daddy drove to Menards where Mommy ran in to pick
up some “supplies” while Daddy stayed in the car with the two of you. Once we
returned home, it was time for a dinner of left-overs and Daddy sneaking into
the living room to watch the IU basketball game.
After dinner the two of you
started an interest in playing with your over-size building blocks, and then
after Mommy returned from walking Allie Mommy then gave the two of you a bath.
Daddy composed our daily blog while sneaking a peek from time to time at the
Butler-Northwestern game (Daddy loves college basketballJ!).
After bath-time came sleepy-time,
time for “night, night.” And you can be assured Daddy wasn’t far behindJ! “Night, night,” Bodhi
and Buddha. “Night, night” Mommy. “Night, night” Arlo and Allie. “Night, night”
Carly and WendellJ!
