Today was another sick day, both
of you struggling to beat back these flu-like symptoms, each of you developing
a cough Mommy and Daddy are closely monitoring. Mommy finally came down with
the characteristic symptoms of this flu-like bug, she has been experiencing
some symptoms for days. Daddy tried to mind the two of you and allow Mommy some
rest, and after making some chicken noodle soup for her, Mommy seemed to show
some signs of recovery, thank goodness. Much speculation has been offered that
this is going to prove to be a serious flu season, and Daddy is convinced these
concerns are validL!
Earlier in the day, both Mommy
and Daddy made separate runs to the mall, but by mid-day it was evident we all
just wanted to spend time at home, seeking as much comfort as we could from one
another. Daddy called and checked on Grandma, and she seemed to sound no better
than she has been for several days now. Daddy also called GiGi and checked on
her, as she had sprained her ankle and slightly (thank goodness) injured her
knee after a spill on her back porch. As usual, neither Grandma nor GiGi
accepted Daddy’s offer to get them anything and spare them going out in the
cold. And the weather was definitely turning much colder, with expected lows
tonight around 11 degrees. Brrrr.
Daddy also made calls to check up
on Sister Kelly, Brother Sean Francis, Brother Ryan Michael and Grandma Betty.
It just seemed like an appropriate day to check in on everyone and express love
and concern for their welfareJ.
Daddy made both of you lunch and
dinner tonight, and neither was anything to particularly brag about. Sandwiches
and soup seem to satisfy both of you, and Daddy has been pushing fruit on each
of you, which thankfully each of you accept with excitement and enjoymentJ! Buddha, you spent
time today with Daddy watching college basketball, for which you show about as
much interest in as any other television venture, and frankly probably
more---you are not a television person (probably, thank goodness). You again,
today, assured Daddy that you had “lots of kisses” “in your mouth” but would
permit Daddy only four. And you, Ms. Bodhi, continue to freak both Mommy and
Daddy out with your demonstrated performance in reading things, you are truly
like a savant in some waysJ!
After feeling somewhat better by
evening, Mommy decided to give the two of you a bath, which both of you always
gleefully appreciateJ!
Afterwards, Mommy got each of you (and herself) settled in with some warm and
comfy pajamas and all of us again looked forward to some evening’s rest.
Hopefully, we are on the road to a healthy recovery from the bug so many of us
have recently suffered.
Let’s get some rest, and look forward to spending
some quality family time together tomorrow! “Night, night!”
Buddha, you and Daddy took this picture of Mr. Cardinal sitting in the branches of our front bush :) |
