So Mommy spoke with Grandmoo this morning who shared that she is absolutely mortified because she failed her written driving exam ha/ha. Mommy and Grandmoo instantly started laughing, given that we are Dyslexic and struggle with tests, Mommy can only imagine Grandmoo at the DMV being told she has to retest. Grandmoo had to take this test every six months for UPS, not being permitted to miss a single question, but apparently DMV has revised their test and have them worded in a not so "Grills" friendly way! We also inherit this stress/panic disorder that can get very ugly ha/ha thank you Great Papaw Grills! When we don't understand the wording, or if we can't grasp a concept, we go into major panic mode... sweating, loss of hearing, loss of vision, and extreme anger, etc... Now, Mommy managed to make it through college without walking out on a test, but I can't say the same for Great Papaw or Grandmoo. Your Great Papaw got so upset at the way one of his tests were worded, he stood up and told the professor to stick that test some where BAHAHAHA! Great Papaw new the content of the class, as it was his profession, however, he couldn't get past the writing and format of the test :/ Anyway, Mommy told Grandmoo that I would come over and help her study later.
Daddy called early this morning to get Ms. Allie into see the vet at Jefferson Animal Hospital (Mommy and Daddy were not looking forward to seeing that bill)! Mommy was certain Ms. Allie had some how broke her leg :( Mommy carried Ms. Allie up and down our stairs several times throughout the night to take Ms. Allie to go potty. Ms. Allie uses the bathroom a ton, Grandmoo has been worried Ms. Allie has a bladder infection. So this morning, Mommy collected a poo sample but didn't manage to get a potty sample, however the doctor was easily able to collect one :) Dr. Swart could tell by the touch that Ms. Allie had blew her knee and probably tore her CCL. Mommy had informed Dr. Swart that her knee area felt like there were floating sists thingy's around it and that her hip was felt and appeared to be swollen. Dr. Swart could move her knee around in such a way that would give you goose bumps. Ms. Allie is a tough cattle dog, she didn't make a single squeal, she just buried her head in Mommy's chest. Dr. Swart said we could wait it out and see if the scar tissue would form around it, she'd just learn how to get around on her three good legs. He said he'd provide as much pain medication as she needed to be comfortable until she healed of course. However, we could get an x-ray to confirm it, and also check to make sure she doesn't have hip dysplasia (sp?) which would run us around $380 with medications, and then wait and schedule a $2,000.00 surgery (provided she didn't have hip dysplasia) to fix her knee and CCL. However, there's a 50% chance her other knee would eventually need to be operated on as well. Oh good grief! Mommy knew that I was connected to Ms. Allie like Mr. Murff in a weird way...she has some of the same health issues Mr. Murff had :(
Anyway, given the timing, holidays, little work, bills, bills, and more bills, Mommy's only option (even without speaking to Daddy) was to get her all the medicines she would need to be comfortable and start to wait it out. Dr. Swart told Mommy not to give up on her just yet and to remain positive. So, after balling for a few minutes, Mommy got it together and took Ms. Allie home. We drove through Mommy's childhood neighborhood in order for Mommy to pull it together completely and then returned home to share the news. You two babes have been so loving and so worried about Ms. Allie. Jude, you call Allie, "My dog." You both gathered up blankets and pillows for Ms. Allie, and stuffed some animals under her front arm. She loved every minute of it. She loves you two like you both are her pups. Mommy supervised of course, making certain that you two were being rough, and that she was ok with you two giving her some love...she seemed to be comforted by all of our attention. We then left Ms. Allie to rest and allow her medicines to take affect. Mommy didn't take pictures today to capture the sweet moment, but Mommy managed to get pictures of you two comforting Ms. Allie yesterday :)
Within an hour, Ms. Allie was hopping around trying to follow us around. Mommy has had a heck of a time keeping her laying down. Mommy can only lay with her for her to truly relax and sleep. After Mommy managed to get her relaxed, I slipped downstairs to greet Ms. Susan two doors down. Daddy had found her Annie, her cat, dead on the side of our house. Annie had been sick and she disappeared four days ago. So Mommy had Daddy put her in a bag and Mommy called Ms. Susan to give her the sad news. Ms. Susan was at her mother's house visiting, so Mommy told her to come over when she got back home. Mommy then buried Annie in Ms. Susan's backyard for her. Ms. Susan was relieved to know what had happened to her, Mommy is sad that she was in our yard. Mommy had carried Annie home on one of our nightly walks with Ms. Allie, Dora, and Ella a couple of weeks ago. Mommy thinks Annie wanted me to help her so she came to our house, however, she died :( After burying Annie, Ms. Susan wanted Mommy to come inside for a while. Mommy sat and visited with Ms. Susan for a couple of hours. When I returned home, you two had Daddy all stressed out.
Mommy tried putting you two down for a nap, but you two flat out refused! You both were running around like mad children when Aunt Debbie Riffe dropped by a plate of Christmas treats, yumm! Aunt Debbie makes such delicious candies!!! We were all excited and anxiously awaiting her arrival so we could all binge away this dark cloud hanging above us, well, at least Mommy and Daddy were, you two just wanted a sugar high :) Thank you Aunt Debbie!
Daddy then took you both to Walmart to pick up some paper towels and additional crafting supplies for Mommy. Daddy called to let Mommy know that you both were hungry and wanted dinner when you arrived home ha/ha Mommy had your plates all laid out when Daddy arrived home with junk food. Good grief, really?!? Mommy managed to get some carrots down you Bodhi, and a bite down you, Jude, however you both chose a hamburger over roast, potatoes, and carrots...such suckers!
As promised, Mommy went to Grandmoo's to assist with her test. Grandmoo had called GiGi who helped her through some of the information. Mommy and Grandmoo laughed until we nearly pee'd ourselves about the "Grills" learning disabilities. Grandmoo tried to get help for Mommy upon entering college, however, I didn't get any, well besides a diagnosis of panic attacks. Mommy joked that Grandmoo probably didn't communicate the problem, which is part of the problem, and that there should be a sign at the doctor's office that reads, "if you have to read this sign more than twice (Mommy went on and on)," etc, etc... then you have dyslexia. Inform us at the desk that you are here regarding the sign, otherwise, you will never accurately communicate what you here for and we will not properly diagnosis you :) Mommy shared with Grandmoo that you, Ms. Bodhi, incredibly bright, as is your brother, probably has the "Grills" curse. Mommy has noticed and observed so many signs that you process information like Mommy. Mommy realized the other day that when you count, specifically when you are subtracting and adding...you get confused if you should start with the number or if you skip the first number and just move on to the next (granted you're three, Mommy struggled with this in first grade ha/ha). So, who knows. I recognize so many similarities in the way you process information... at least I know how to help you...get you help :) I don't know how I managed get through college and Grad School, I do know it was extremely difficult and very miserable!
When Mommy returned home from Grandmoo's, you Ms. Bodhi were fast asleep tightly tucked in your cozy little bed. Jude man, you were passed out on Daddy's lap, you had been watching a movie with Daddy and Sean Franky. Mommy carried Ms. Allie upstairs and started playing catch-up with these blogs :) Nighty night sweet babes. Tomorrow you'll be going to GiGi's and Gi-Pa's while Mommy works.

Wally didn't travel far ha/ha still hanging out in the bathroom :) |
Poor baby Allie! Your breed is unbelievably tough, and you are no exception! You'll get through this! |
This big ol' A-hole manages to keep on keeping on! :)- |
