On this Friday, the flu bug like
symptoms in the house (and Grandma’s too) seem to be worsening. Mommy and Daddy
are quite concerned for everyone, especially you two special babies. Both of
you show signs of a cough developing, you probably worse than your sister,
Buddha. There is nothing worse for a parent than witnessing a child suffer, and
Mommy and Daddy are distressed. And to add to the concern, Mommy seems to be
showing signs that she is developing similar symptoms!
Aside from the more critical
preoccupation with the health of each of you, and Mommy, Daddy is fighting mad,
as the expression goes, about the incompetence of our national politicians. Our
nation is on the verge of experiencing a worsening of our economic crisis, some
of which can be averted by thoughtful, cooperative collaboration among
politicians, and our government is proving completely dysfunctional and
incapable of managing the work at hand. Worse, is the growing recognition that
there is virtually nothing American citizens can do about it. As mad as Daddy
is about the overall situation, he is more concerned for the future of this
country and the quality of life each of you will possibly enjoy ahead. Daddy is
certainly not alone among serious, thoughtful intellectuals concerned about the
loss of American society to ineptitude and corruption among self-serving,
selfish, narcissistic politicians who like con artists manipulate our sense of
reality to nourish their own insatiable egos and greed. As the two of you grow
into intelligent, critical-thinking, patriots one hopes you will act to restore
the promise of this great nation. Responsible leaders currently do not exist,
and the carnage on our current situation and future prospects wrecked upon us
by these political flim-flam artists is unconscionable.
As a new year looms near, one has
hopes of better times. Daddy and Mommy want each of you to grow into optimists
and idealists, though that is a rare and inherently difficult combination to
sustain. Notwithstanding, the two of you will be prepared to face the
challenges of tomorrow!
On a less somber note, we enjoyed
a visit from Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron and the two of you, as usual,
kidnapped Sister Kelly to your rooms and deployed every new toy you received
for Christmas, as you demanded she give you her full attention (which she
always doesJ!).
Later in the evening, Mommy gave the two of you (and herself) the needed
medications to head off the worsening of the symptoms you have suffered now for
days, and the effects were that all three of you experience a phenomenal (if
not psychedelicJ)
burst of energy and cleaned the entire upstairs before settling in for the
night.
When “night, night” came, we were
all exhausted, if for Daddy for no other reason than being worn out by
witnessing the three of you demonstrate your cleaning rushJ! “Night, night!”
