These are lyrics from a hippie era song Daddy is fond of remembering, a song popularized by Crosby, Stills and Nash…lyrics suggesting, at least, the importance of keeping proper priorities…easier said than done.
Today, the two of you spent nearly an entire day with Aunt Ti so that Mommy and Daddy could get needed work done. At day’s end, very little work was actually accomplished, (well Mommy got more accomplished than I of course) and we both failed to spend time with the two of you. Misplaced priorities, to say the very, very least. Mommy and Daddy are both trying, be assured that our love for the two of you is unequaled, we simply need to perfect our efforts at being more perfect parents.
The bug continues to linger, Mommy and you Bodhi continue to struggle, Daddy continues to be exhausted, Buddha you seemed especially fussy this evening, GiGi and Grandmoo are slowly recovering,
GiPa remains very ill, Sean Franky is very sick, Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron are slowly on the mend…yikes, this bug has been a phenomenon!
Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron picked the two of you up this evening at Aunt Ti’s and brought you home, and they stayed and visited for a while, but the two of you were both fussy and clearly still somewhat under the weather.
Mommy and Daddy found a beautiful “distressed-look” blue highlighted twin bed for your room, Bodhi, and you looked so especially adorable laying in your “big girl” bed this evening. We have one for you, also, Buddha but Mommy is going to do some work on it this spring before we transition you to a “big boy” bed.
It has, again, been one of those days, Mommy and Daddy haven’t even eaten supper tonight, and it is going on well past Daddy’s bedtime (yes, interested readers will have to guess), but Daddy agreed to make something for Mommy before calling it a night. This afternoon, Mommy was warming taco shells in the oven for a late lunch and they caught fire. The entire inside of the oven was on fire! Mommy couldn’t remember what she was supposed to throw on the fire to extinguish it… baking soda? baking powder?... but it didn’t matter because we had neither. Daddy was picking up your bed, Bodhi at the time, so Mommy was on her own. I returned home to see all the doors standing wide open and smoke flooding out! YIKES! So, I'm making dinner tonight!
As for the two of you, we have called it a night…a “night, nightJ.” Love and peace[.
