Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Today was a very, very, very special day---Mommy’s birthday! The world’s best Mommy, best wife, best friend…and the absolute best do-everything-for-everybody-person ever!!! Happy birthday, Amanda Lea, happy birthday Mommy!

Mommy’s birthday started off with an early departure of Daddy, as Tuesdays are all-day-at-school days for Daddy and then domestic violence intervention class at night. So the three of you, Mommy and Bodhi and Buddha (and Arlo and Allie and Ella and Dora) spent the day celebrating Mommy’s birthday with sleeping in (a little, not much of that is possible around here with the two of you, Princess Bodhi and Prince BuddhaJ), the spending time watching some movies (Mommy’s picks-Happy Feet 2 & Cars), building Mommy flower Legos, Ms. Bodhi, and sharing your beloved Lego fire truck, Buddha,  having lunch and settling in for a nap (so Mommy could take a shower). Then, in the later afternoon the three of you played with your toys, went out to get some Happy Meal dinners, watched some more movies and enjoyed a visit from Grandpa Kurt, and still found time to take Ms. Allie for a walk. GiGi and Grandmoo also called to wish Mommy a happy birthday, and sister Kelly and Brother Sean Franky both told Daddy to give Mommy a birthday hug!

Mommy’s happy birthday was also highlighted by you making Mommy a Lego flower, Bodhi---you are such a thoughtful angel! And Buddha, Daddy is confident Mommy managed to squeeze some extra kisses from you throughout the birthday dayJ. Mommy also suffered on her birthday, because she is smothered in poison ivy---Daddy tried to help by going to the pharmacy between jobs and picking up some cortisone cream and Benadryl, but it will take days for the poison ivy itself to run its course—poor Mommy, already sick and now this!

Daddy would happily smother Mommy in hugs and kisses and a massage, but with poison ivy, sinus infection, sore—if not strep—throat, Mommy is not in a snuggling state of body or mind—so by the time Daddy got home, we enjoyed a glass of wine together and shared opening Mommy’s gifts with the two of you. Mommy got some Puma running shoes (like Aunt Ti’s J), the new Dave Matthews Band cd and a tool bag and tools for Mommy’s craft room. After present opening, Mommy was busy getting the two of you dressed and put down for bed—Mommy’s work is never done—and Daddy wishes he could smother her with hugs and kisses and more gifts than there are stars in the sky! You two refused to go to bed, so Mommy allowed you two, as she always does, additional playtime in your room, Bodhi, playing little people with your doll house.  The rules is you two can play until you two start arguing.  This actually keeps you two from arguing, but as you both tire down, you inevitably get fussy with one another.  Mommy just waits it out J

Truly, we all love Mommy “to the moon” and back, and to Mars and back and around the universe and on and on and on and on…happy birthday beautiful, wonderful, special Mommy and Daddy’s love of his life, best friend, and life partner and soul mate!!! You are a truly magical, magnificent Mommy and a gorgeous, incredibly unique, once-in-a-lifetime best friend and wife. We celebrate this day, because we celebrate and cherish you!!!

“Night, night” all, and sweet dreams Mommy---we love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
