Fateful Monday

Mommy was headed to work on this Labor Day Monday while you two little ones were still tucked in bed fast asleep.  Mommy figured I should provide families that want to visit their children the opportunity this Labor Day, especially since I've been so enraged with parents that cancel their visits.  Unfortunately for me, I was full blown sicky!  Yet, I awakened and got on the road on time :)

Daddy, who is severely behind on his work for his classes, needed some undisturbed work time as well.  Which one day is not enough he reports :(  but it's a start.  Mommy had laid out your clothes with instructions for Daddy, and Daddy transported you to Aunt Ti's for the entire day.  Mommy was supervising a visit during the time Daddy was driving you two.  Mommy spilled her drink in the middle of the visit, all over my computer, phone, myself, and of course the floor.  At that moment, Mommy thought something was really wrong, so I sent Daddy a text to make sure he got you two to Aunt Ti's.  Mommy about had a heart attack when he responded back... "we almost got killed in an accident, someone ran a stop sign...neck injured."  Say what?!!!  Mommy immediately called Daddy and Daddy explained that an old guy (ha/ha-apparently much older than Daddy-as Sister Kelly and Mommy are fond of calling Daddy "Old Man.")  ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of Daddy.  Daddy explained that there was a car heading toward Daddy in the opposite lane, so he couldn't go into the oncoming lane, but thankfully there was a corn field on the other side, so Daddy drove off the road and into the corn field...around the car that about caused the accident.  Daddy ended up in front of the old man.  Daddy said you two were obviously aware something serious was going on, but  neither of you screamed or anything.  Mommy couldn't believe that Daddy didn't stop and call the police.  Daddy said the police wouldn't care or do anything, and that the old man was shaken up, he could tell by looking at him in the review mirror.  The front of Daddy's car is mess, but nothing too bad.  Mommy was so relieved that everyone was ok, well aside from Daddy's neck :(  Mommy immediately began questioning why I volunteered to work this Labor Day Monday, and the only answer that hit me at the time was... I would want to see you two any chance I could get, so I had to do it for those families wanting to see their kids.

Well, you two made it to Aunt Ti's in one piece (Thank God) and Mommy's day away at work continued.  Mommy was so sick, constantly sanitizing my hands, making sure not to breath on anyone, and loading up on cold medicine.  Mommy made it to her last visit, a new couple to me, and seeing the kids yell and run into their parents arms was all I needed to keep going.  It was sooooo humid out, Mommy could hardly breath, and I was sweating like a pig ha/ha  Usually Mommy doesn't share this much when it comes to work, but it all ties in... at the conclusion of this particular visit, the Dad was asking Mommy about my background and I revealed that I worked for DCS for three years prior to joining my current family with Child and Family Partners.  Well, he had lots of questions and misunderstandings, at no one's fault, just typical unanswered questions of people unfamiliar with the child protection system.  When Mommy was packing the kids into the car, the Dad reached out his hand (to which I said "I'm sick") but he insisted on shaking my hand, and he said... I prayed last night that I would be given guidance and answers, and today I met you, you have been so helpful and have given me and my wife hope.  Wow!  For Mommy, that is why I volunteered to work today, that is why I didn't cancel two days ago when I knew I was going to be super sick, that is why Daddy was able to navigate you two to safety.  I was meant to be exactly where I was when I was!  Moments like this rarely happen to me, at least they rarely go noticed by me, but they always seem to come when I need reassurance that I'm on the right path, or need direction to the right path :)

Mommy couldn't wait to get home to you two.  Mommy picked up Daddy and we headed to Greentown to retrieve you from Aunt Ti :)  Daddy showed Mommy where he went off the road, and we made it to Aunt Ti's to be greeted by a very sweet little girl with french braids (Aunt Ti gave you two french braids and you looked absolutely precious Bodhi), and you Mr. Ornery, all decked out in your back-up outfit ha/ha Aunt Ti's niece was the only other little one present... Lizzie, Andrew, and Ellie had spent the day with Aunt T, Aunt Ti's oldest sister.  You two had a great day, and both of you love your Aunt Ti :)

Mommy and Daddy took you both to Target to get your "blue Hello Kitty" which apparently you created in your mind, Bo, because it certainly doesn't exist at Target, and Jude, you got a red race car.  See, this morning, Bodhi, Daddy told you that he might be able to pick you up a treat, to which you instructed Daddy to go to Target and buy you a "blue Hello Kitty," and Bubby a red race car. He didn't have a chance to get out, so Mommy and Daddy took you both as a special treat.

Pictures from Aunt Ti's :)
