A Rough Monday

Today was an all-around rough Monday! Daddy was given a treat by being able to join two of his dear friends, Steve Barton and Dave Kellar for breakfast for about an hour. Then, it was quickly back home to look in on a very sick Mommy and two very sick babies, before being off to work for the day and through the early evening.

Mommy was able to get in to see a nurse practitioner at Dr. Hoshaw’s office, where she was also able to get some medicine for her sore throat and flu-like symptoms. GiGi came by to offer her help by looking after our two sick babies as Daddy had to get to work, and by the time Mommy got home she settled the two of you down for lunch and a quick nap before preparing to take you both to the doctor.  Buddha, you weren’t sleeping, so GiGi rocked you to sleep, and then Mommy took over.  However, you were in such horrible pain, you insisted on getting up.  Mommy gave you and your sister a bath since you both requested one

Again, GiGi came through for all of us and accompanied Mommy as the two of you got in to Dr. Zentz’ office to see our nurse, Kathleen (Daddy’s friend, Steve Barton’s sister) and both of you got prescriptions to help deal with your sinus infections, you especially Buddha were feverish and clearly not feeling good! You refused to allow anyone but Mommy and GiGi hold you.  You down right refused to cooperate with getting your weight or height, then looking in your ears, nose, mouth, or listening to your breathing and heart rate.  You just were not wanting any part of it!  Bodhi, you loved the attention of Kathleen, you kept calling her and her nurse, "hey Doctor... hey doctor!"  You had Mommy and GiGi giggling.  You even told "the doctor," GiGi was a doctor and she gave you a shot ha/ha  GiGi had played doctor with you and Buddha while Mommy was at her doctor's appointment. Finally, after a chaotic doctor's appointment, GiGi then took Mommy to Meijers to pick up prescriptions.  Now Mommy laughs and says there's a long story about picking up the prescriptions...she said to just put her and GiGi were instructed three times to go back through the line for additional time, I can only imagine what that was all about.   After getting you home and attempting to get everyone comfortable as possible, Mommy patiently awaited Daddy’s getting home from work to help, though Daddy is of little help as his back is hurting so badly he can barely stay still for any length of time---wow, what a mess we have all been!

By the time bedtime rolled around, we all were more than ready to try to get some much needed recovery rest, and look forward to getting on the mend! We also looked forward to tomorrow being a very, very, very special day for Mommy—her birthday!

So, as we can all readily see from this short mellow brick road entry, it was far from a mellow day for a family much in need of rest and an opportunity for some medicine to assist us in getting on the mend. If love was the magic elixir, we would be well on our way---and frankly, because of love we are---but it is also going to take some antibiotics and time---it has been a rough MondayL.

Still, let’s end on a note of love and peace. And goodnight kisses!

PS  Sorry no pictures for today... they wouldn't have been pleasant or "pretty" pictures :(
