Tonight sparks the first occurrence of the Mellow Brick Road written by a non-custodial person in the babies’ lives. Emilia and Jude, your mom and our dad were at an early birthday Bob Dylan concert, which is becoming a sort of birthday happening. Dad is also speaking at a conference the next day, so they are staying in Southern Indiana for an overnight trip. Both of them were slightly panicky leading up to the trip, so I’m sure they will be checking in tomorrow bright and early to make sure every baby butt and fuzzy butt made it through the night.
We experienced a long nap for you, Bodhi, and a very short nap for you, Buddha. Emilia went right to sleep before the start of the Bob Dylan journey, and was still asleep when I left for a hair appointment. One day, we will be able to get Bodhi into the cycle of constant salon and spa visits just like her big sister. :) Jude was asleep before everyone left…until…Momma and I heard a big thump from Buddha’s room. Juders, you woke up and wanted to let us know that you were awake and ready to play. I was able to get you to fall asleep by holding you and watching tv. An hour and a half later, I heard little manly, shrill screams from upstairs. When I rounded the stairs, I was shocked to see the bedroom door open because I closed it to keep the room cool. Mr. Murffee had pushed the door open and woke you up, Jude, for an afternoon visit. He must have been missing the big people, and sought out a familiar pal. I sent your momma several pictures of you both napping to hold her over until after the show tonight, and she quickly responded that she missed you both.
Sean Franky came to visit just around the same time that the Governor came over after work. Somehow, he never has to watch you two completely by himself. After my hair appointment, our evening adventure consisted of taking a trip to visit the bunnies to make sure they had plenty of food to hold them over on an evening with out their bunny momma. Both of your squealed with joy after seeing what probably seemed to you both to be smaller versions of Mr. Murffee and Mr. Arlo. We decided to have a treat tonight, since spending time with you both is such a special occurrence. We treated ourselves to happy meals for all! Grandpa Kurt came by to visit, and the boys played Wii while I wrangled the babies for baths and bedtime.
In true Mommy and Daddy fashion, “Kisses and hugs to the Princess and Prince of Indiana, off to the enchanted dreamland filled with happiness and wonderment, forever and ever…”
