Overnight Adventure-Day One

Mommy and Daddy decided it would be beneficial to each of us to have an overnight adventure before Daddy returns full-time to work next week, so we took advantage of a discount offer for a stay at McCormick’s Creek State Park---mostly because of its proximity to Bloomington (the Center of the Universe) and because we could have use of a nice outdoor swimming pool!
We planned to get off early, but preparations for two babies always presents challenges and demands for patienceJ We did manage to get away by 9 a.m. stopped for some breakfast snacks at Mickey D’s and away we went to one of Mommy’s and Daddy’s favorite destinations, Bloomington, Indiana, alma mater of both Mommy’s and Daddy’s undergraduate degrees and all-around magical place!  On the way, we stopped at Oliver winery and sampled some wine, purchased a bottle and some bread and cheese, had fun accepting compliments from folks on how beautiful our babies are, and took a brief break and enjoyed some cheese and bread. We also, of course, had some photo shoot activities (Mommy is never without her NikonJ).
After leaving Oliver winery, we stopped at the Bloomington Visitors Welcome Center (Daddy likes stopping there and getting some complementary sunscreen for you twoJ) and we obtained some information for a visit to the Tibetan Buddhism Cultural Center located on the southeast rural side of Bloomington. Bodhi , you and your brother (but especially you) went nuts over two cats in the visitor’s center, and it was magical watching the two of you gently pet and baby talk the cat named Lora Li (spelling unknownJ).
Upon arrival just off campus in Bloomington, we enjoyed a fun walk, with you two, Bodhi and Buddha, especially enjoying the luxury of our top-of-the-line side-by-side stroller. The weather could not have been more beautiful! We visited some different shops we always enjoy browsing through and obtained a gift for Grandmoo and a cool t-shirt for both Mommy and DaddyJ We had lunch at the famous college pub, Nick’s Pub (one of Daddy’s haunts from his IU days).
After lunch, we strolled around the near downtown area for a while longer, then packed up and headed out to the Tibetan Buddhist Cultural Center. It was truly magical and mystical and honestly, spiritually peaceful to both Mommy and Daddy. The two of you enjoyed the sights and some time playing on the grounds.  We intend to return during our visit to the campus next spring!
From there, we headed to the state park, arrived in time to do some swimming (Bodhi you love to go swimming!). Both of you seemed so happy “swimming” though you, Bodhi, especially enjoyed attempts at jumping from the side of the pool into the water; we had to be careful because you have not quite conquered the art of jumping into something as opposed to just jumping and landing flat on your butt where you are standing—a present potentially dangerous issue. Mommy and Daddy managed to regulate your jumps into the pool and you simply did not want to stop. Buddha, you seemed to enjoy our “swim” but you were ready to call it quits when Mommy and Daddy thought we should get the two of you dressed and find a place for us to have dinner.
We enjoyed a family dinner at a restaurant outside of Spencer, Indiana (Aunt Jane lived near here once and Daddy is always saddened to some degree when in this area) called the Hilltop Restaurant. The place came by it’s name honestly, as it was on top of a steep hill---yikes. After dinner, Bodhi you and Mommy gave our leftovers to two cats outside of the restaurant---Buddha, you and Daddy were ready to get back to our state park inn room and go to bed (or so it seemed at the timeJ).
When we got back and settled in for the night, both of you did not want to settle in peacefully (J). Mommy attempted to comfort you to sleep, Buddha, and you, Bodhi, negotiated settling down if Daddy lay next to you while you drifted off to sleep. At one point, Buddha, you were screaming bloody murder, and your sister pulled her pacifier out of her “drowsy” mouth and held it up pointed toward you, as if to say, here take a toke off this brother! Wow, what an adventure day we enjoyed, and how good it felt when we all settled quietly in for our night’s sleep!!!
Mommy's to exhausted to add all the captions... enjoy the pictures :)
