A New Family Car

Today was a particularly important and special day, as Mommy and Daddy finalized the commitment for the purchase of a new family carJ. This is only the second new car Mommy and Daddy have ever had, it is a major, expensive investment and decision and one Mommy and Daddy carefully considered and reviewed.

Daddy’s work has been especially daunting and demanding recently so Mommy did the principal negotiation regarding the vehicle purchase, spending a good deal of her time yesterday and this morning. After conferring over specific details and concerns, Mommy and Daddy agreed on a choice and Mommy finalized the arrangement with the dealership late this morning. Here, within the next few days we will take possession of our new family car and we are all jazzed about it, even the two of you, both of you expressing excitement over the prospect of a larger family vehicle with a built-in “movie” component!!! JJJ !!!

Daddy spent his entire day in Indianapolis, attending a criminal justice program state curriculum meeting, one of two held each year. During this meeting, a course developed by Daddy was formally adopted into the state curriculum---this is the fourth course Daddy has developed, submitted, and formally adopted into the Ivy Tech Community College criminal justice program curriculum (for some sense of context, contemplate this accomplishment---matching Daddy’s four outstanding teaching/teacher of the year awards---as winning the NCAA national basketball tournamentJ). Cool.
Mommy spent the day with two baby angels, playing with you and directing you to playing together while she got some of her work done, and then venturing out shopping with the two of you---that is always a very special and challenging adventureJ. The two of you even accompanied Mommy as she went to her manicurist to have her nails professionally painted (Mommy cannot paint her own nails despite being the paint queen-truly, I’ve witnessed her failed attempts)---that, too, is like winning a national collegiate basketball championshipJ. Overall, Mommy gave each of you a good grade for behavior during your shopping outing. You were a little fussy during part of the outing, Bodhi, as both you and your brother are prone to be like when you don’t have an afternoon nap---still, Mommy said you both had fun on your outing and do did MommyJ.

When Daddy got home, everyone was excited to see their Daddy (and partnerJ) and we enjoyed dinner together. Daddy, of course, caught up on his emails and learned by seeing a copy of the print that Sister Kelly was a featured endorsement commentary for a college professional development publication---we are all proud of Sister Kelly and Daddy, especially, is so appreciative of her incredible talents and professional competence!

After dinner, the night settled all of us down, Mommy gave the two of you a much needed bathJ and got you comfortable for “night, night.” Mommy and Daddy settled down for a small piece of together alone time and excitedly contemplated taking possession of our new family car---a crimson exterior, beige interior (yes, cream and crimson!!!) four-wd eight passenger capacity (fully loaded---with a built-in “movie” component and navigation system and tow package) Toyota Highlander. We truly are really, really, really jazzed!!! Oh, by the way---2002 Ford Mustang for sale! “Night, night!!!”
