A Sleepy Sunday

Today was overall a sleepy Sunday, with Mommy and Daddy respectively trying to get some work accomplished while spending some time with two special baby angelsJ.

Daddy busied himself franticly attempting to finalize phase one of a special faculty professional development project he has spearheaded now for over a year, a project Daddy proposed be called IvyTe@ch. The project is designed to bring small groups of faculty and staff together facilitated by a volunteer leading discussions on topics such as syllabus construction, first-day class preparedness, lesson plans and assessments, academic integrity and classroom civility and so on. The groups, referred to as teaching circles, will meet over the course of a semester three two-hour sessions and broaden their professional knowledge through this designed process of experience and expertise sharing. Daddy also worked on a summary program review report concerning the criminal justice program he manages and oversees. Additionally, of course, Daddy tended to keeping up with his regular classroom and lecture responsibilities for five courses he is presently instructing. Finally, Daddy is attempting (slowly, and ultimately possibly failing to meet a required deadline) to construct a required portfolio for promotional consideration to a position as a full professor, the highest achievement position for a member of the faculty. Most importantly, Daddy strives to be a responsible and loving husband and Daddy, and though that comes last in a summary of a working weekend, it comes first in Daddy’s heart and consciousness about what matters most.

Mommy worked on completing a conversion of our downstairs family-living room windows with Roman-style window coverings. Honestly, Mommy could and should (Daddy often thinks) start up a business of interior decorating. Mommy is incredibly creative and a pure visionary when it comes to beautification and interior design of a home (Grandmoo has the same talent!!!)!!! People are always complimenting your Mommy on how gorgeous our home is, Aunt Beth was just here for a brief visit this weekend with Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron and they commented on how special and beautiful our home isJ. We are so fortunate and blessed!!!

The two of you maintained a central point of focus for both Mommy and Daddy today, as the two of you always do. Both of you are barrels of unbridled energy, and your respective personalities are so clearly emerging---you are such an inherently introverted, thoughtful, reflecting, demonstrably intelligent, almost bookish personality Ms. Bodhi (undeniably a carbon copy of guess who, yes a Daddy’s girl, even though Mommy has you persuaded you are a “Mommy’s girl”). You, Mister Buddha, are so incredibly athletic, bursting with energy, sensitive in your own recognizable way, at times one is tempted to think intellectually reckless, a visually undeniable spitting’ image of your Mommy, a virtually duplicate personality of your brother Sean Franky and undoubtedly a Mommy’s boy (though Daddy works you constantly to convince you that you are a “Daddy’s boy”).  Each of you dazzle Mommy and Daddy with your unique expressions; you are so incredibly expressive with your face and body, Ms. Bodhi, and you come up with such classic verbal expressions, Buddha---your current repeated line is that you “don’t have a lot of kisses” so it’s difficult to get you to give your Daddy a kissJ. Bodhi, you always assure Daddy you have a kiss for himJ. We are incredibly and undeniably blessed with two precious, special souls!
