An excursion is an expression
commonly used to describe a purposeful short journey or trip, and today we
undertook such a short journey to Indianapolis for Mommy to visit the TJ Max
Home Store, one of her favorite places to once or twice a year visit and shop
for unique home furnishings and such. On this occasion our journey produced
purchases of Hello Kitty underwear for Ms. Bodhi (size six for my little three
year old!!! baby amazon girl!!!), some socks for Mister Buddha, some fudge for
DaddyJ
and some home decorating ideas for MommyJ.
After a visit at Mommy’s favorite
store, we stopped briefly at Daddy’s favorite (Half-Price Books) where Daddy
got a book on philosophy and Mommy purchased a “surprise” Easter book for two
special Easter bunniesJ.
We then stopped at World Market, a favorite store for both Mommy and Daddy
where we purchased some candy for a good girl named Emilia and a good boy named
Jude, and a hippie/flapper hat for Ms. Emilia, and where again Mommy nurtured
numerous home improvement suggestionsJ.
After our “shopping spree,” we
headed home, listening to the IU-Michigan basketball game on the radio, and
arriving home to let the dogs out for a break before proceeding on to a quick
trip to Meijer’s for a hitch cover (paw print design of course), and then made
our way back home in time to enjoy our dinner of Subway sandwiches we picked up
on the way back home. Daddy couldn’t help but marvel on how nice our new family
vehicle is and how comfortable it proved to be for outings with our family!
When we got home, Sean Franky
stopped by to watch the remainder of the IU game with us, and after the game he
left to get home to make his own dinner (he declined our offer to join us for
Subway, Mommy texted him for his preference but he wanted to wait and make
himself some Chinese foodJ).
After the game, it didn’t take
long for all of us again to be ready for an evening’s rest. The weekend was an
eventful one, selling our dear Ford Mustang and journeying to Indianapolis in
our new family car, and squeezing in work for both Mommy and Daddy on top of
spending our time together as a family.
So, we sat together in the living
room and read our Sunday newspaper (GiGi and GiPa always give us their Sunday
paper, and it has become our family tradition to “read” it together. It wasn’t
long after that that Mommy had the two of you dipped in the bathtub for a much
neededJ
bathing and then pajama-ed-up for bedtime. Daddy was either slightly ahead of
you or just shortly behind, a common point of dispute with Mommy. Nonetheless,
it was a wonderful weekend together, and one leading into a fun-anticipated
spring break week together.
“Night, night.”JJJJ
