A Working Wednesday

Today was an intended Daddy’s day, but it began with Daddy having a dental appointment at 7:00 a.m., and Mommy had seven hours of volunteer work early herself (she volunteered for the Animal Shelter working the “Living In the Real World” for all the middle school students in the city), so Grandma was kind enough (as she and GiGi always are) to come over and manage sleeping angelsJ. By 8:30 a.m., Daddy was able to return home and Grandma was preparing each of you to go outside with her to help clean up the Kitty MansionJ.

Daddy assured Grandmoo that I would be fine taking care of both of you, and that she needn’t worry about staying, but she insisted she wanted to spend time with the two of you if Daddy didn’t mind. So, the two of you went outside and became assistants to Grandma as she scooped poop and took care of the Kitty Mansion. Daddy took the opportunity to work on cleaning the garage, and made some progress but still needs to coordinate with Mommy how we can best prepare the garage for winter.

As always, both of you loved spending time with Grandma, and Daddy looked on as the two of you played with chalk drawing pictures on the driveway, and as both of you rode Bodhi’s bicycle. Daddy joined the two of you to assist as you were swinging on the swing-set and Grandma treated the two of you to a Fiber One bar. Around 11:00 a.m., Grandma said she needed to go so she could get to the grocery store (and you kept asking Grandma if you could go to the grocery store with her, BodhiJ).

Daddy took both of you inside, where you sat patiently (with our kitchen radio on---that was a winning suggestion from Daddy, huh MommyJ) while Daddy made lunch of macaroni and cheese (and both of you wanted a piece of breadJ) and a special treat of raspberry crème sodaJ. After lunch, we played in the living room and watched “one show” until it was time for a nap. You were completely cooperative, Princess Bodhi, and you lay right down for your nap (you were tired, little girl). Prince Buddha, you on the other hand would not cooperate at all and refused to lay down in your bed, even after Daddy rocked you and sang our happy birthday song with you—you insisted you wanted your Mommy, so Daddy took you to Mommy and Daddy’s bed and lay down with you.

As Mommy discovered when she later came home, you never did go down for a nap until you had your Mommy (yes, Daddy admits it is true, you are a Mommy’s boyJ). Ultimately, we all stayed in our bed for an afternoon nap, and when we awakened a storm was coming in so we all wrapped up in blankets in the living room and watched tv together. Mommy was really tired and asked Daddy to make dinner, so Daddy made cheeseburgers and French fries and green beans (your favorite, BuddhaJ). We enjoyed our dinner and Mommy cleaned up Daddy’s mess and washed all the dishes—Mommy never really gets to rest, both of you need understand and respect that, always!

Later in the evening, Daddy took his pain medicine and completely crashed for the night, as Mommy got the two of you tucked away for the evening—it ended as it began, two little angels snuggled in bed, surrounded by mountains of love!

Sweet Sweet baby girl! :)

Nighty night!  Jude man Mommy doesn't dare go in your room after I shut your door ha/ha
