Graduation Night for Family and Friends

Bodhi, you made it through your first scorching hot night without a window air conditioner in your room.  Unfortunately, it stopped working, and this old house doesn’t have central air upstairs.  So, Mommy opened both of your windows and put three different fans in your room.  One fan was blowing hot air out your window, and the other two were circulating air in an attempt to keep you cool.  Mommy put you in a t-shirt to sleep in and left your hair wet after your bath.   You slept the whole night though J  Jude, you sleep in Mommy’s and Daddy’s room so we had to bundle you, we wouldn’t want you to wake up a Judesicle
This morning Mommy played with you both while Daddy cleaned out his clothes closet upstairs and the coat closet downstairs.  Daddy always gets scared when Mommy says she’s going to have a yard sale, he knows Mommy will clean house (your Daddy is a hoarder)!
This afternoon, you both woke up in time to see Aunt Bethie.  Aunt Bethie needed a place to change her clothes before attending her college graduation ceremony for Ivy Tech.  Your Daddy had to go it to as well, since he’s a Professor.  Sister Kelly and the Governor were also in attendance. The Governor graduated and is now a Paramedic!  Woot Woot Governor!    Bodhi, you ate your lunch and then part of Aunt Bethie’s.  She asked if you wanted to feed her the grilled cheese Mommy made for her, and you shook your yes.  However, you then started eating her sandwhich.  Jude, you were shy or something, Aunt Bethie was feeding you your food but you would hardly take a bite.  Bodhi, you followed Aunt Bethie around the house, tried on her shoes, and went through her bag hee/hee You are such a snoop with people’s bags!  You also helped Aunt Bethie get dressed and “Prettied up.” Jude, Daddy held you, you make Daddy so nervous with all your crawling around and pulling yourself up.  You have turned into a crazy little man J  You love to chase your sister and Mr. Murff around the house. Sister Kelly and Cory stopped by to pick up Mommy’s camera to take pictures of the Governor at graduation,  and of course to visit with you both, for a minute anyway.   Bodhi, you were beside yourself with all the visitors today.  You even started to cry when everyone left, but Mommy told you GiGi and Grandmoo would be coming over to play with you while Mommy went to Zumba class, you cheered up immediately.
This evening Momma went to Zumba class and when I returned home, Bodhi, you were sitting on the step with GiGi, you smiled the biggest smile at Mommy J  Mommy was so happy to see your smiling face.  Before I left for class, GiGi had me take a few pictures of you receiving your first real three wheel bicycle!  You were so excited and tried riding it right away.  Mommy tried showing you how to peddle, but you were more interested in Mommy pushing you while you steered.  Bodhi, you are so smart, you’ll have the hang of it in no time!  Jude, when I returned home, you were inside with Grandmoo playing.  You were happy until you heard Mommy’s voice, and then you turned into a “wild animal” as Grandmoo says.  Mommy gave you both baths and then put you to bed.
Mommy’s getting very depressed, Grandmoo keeps telling Mommy that Mr. Murff needs to be put down.  Mr. Murff falls a lot and is not active like he used to be, but Mommy thought and was told, Mr. Murff would show signs of suffering, he would become depressed and not eat when it was time to put him down.  Mommy in no way wants Mr. Murff to suffer, and I know he suffers to the extent that he can’t play like he wants to, but when it’s just him and I in the evenings, and when he watches you two play during the day, he seems to be content.  So, Mommy is struggling right now to know the right thing to do.  Grandmoo told Mommy tonight that a “Yee ha” (as Grandmoo referred to him) stopped her and Mr. Murff when they were walking across the street, and Mr. Murff fell, and the guy told Grandmoo, “you know, that dog will never give up, it’s a tough dog- bread for working, and he’ll never show typical signs of when he should be put down.”  Grandmoo said she was so embarrassed.  Mommy is so conflicted.  Everyone grows old and less mobile. People, dogs, children, we all adapt… if he doesn’t appear to be unhappy, do put him down anyway?   I feel in my heart I will recognize when it’s time, but Grandmoo insists that I’m just keeping him alive to make myself happy (I don’t believe that to be true at all).  Yes, Mr. Murff is tough, but when he previously got sick, he became very depressed and wouldn’t eat, if the vet didn’t have a cure, Mommy would have put Mr. Murff down… wouldn’t Mr. Murff do that again if he didn’t want to live or he knew it was his time to go?
