Freaky Friday Tuesday

Fat Tuesday, A Childhood Memory/Experience:  Daddy Entry Number Four

Hot and Muggy Day-Back to College and Worrying About Babies At Home
Today, Daddy reported back to work at the college for summer session, and whew was it ever a hot day outside and in---the air-conditioner inside wasn’t keeping up with the hot temperature outside, that’s for sure. When I spoke with Mommy I learned that you were having a very hot day too, Bodhi, we think you are running a fever because you are teething. And poor Jude is still suffering from his outbreak of yeast infection on his cheeks.
There is no pain and suffering like the anguish of a parent watching as their children suffer. Mommy and Daddy would do anything we could to make you both feel better immediately! We are just so thankful that it is “normal” childhood maladies we are confronting and nothing life-threatening. We are so blessed, and we know it and are so thankful for it!!!
Daddy has been told many times over the years by your Grandma and Grandpa Holsapple that I suffered with numerous maladies as a small child, I had a congenital hernia that could not be repaired until I was a teenager, and I suffered serious teeth problems throughout my childhood life, and both Grandma and Grandpa Holsapple often described for me their anguish in watching their baby boy suffer, and how they felt so helpless to address some of the concerns over my health.
Like I said, I don’t think a parent can suffer any more than to witness their children suffer an illness or injury. It is the inevitable price one must bear in exchange for the joy of love we know with each of you. So, tonight, Mommy and Daddy are reflecting on our love and concern for each of you, as each of you thank goodness seem (at least for now) to sleep quietly, and one hopes restfully.

Goodnight Prince and Princess of Indiana, King and Queen of our family universe. We love you both so very, very, very much!!!!
Your Day Bodhi and Jude:

Today was such an off day.  Bodhi, you wouldn't eat breakfast this morning, slept forever this afternoon, and wanted to be held, rocked, and cuddled at all times!  Your teeth were apparently hurting you big time!  Your cheeks were red and swollen and you didn't feel much like playing at all today, plus you had a fever.  Juders, you were crawling like a possessed little guy... half crawl/half trying to stand up and walk, you looked like something out of horror film hee/hee.  You didn't eat much today either, and you slept forever as well! You were happy though, and you definitely wanted to play!  While you two took your long afternoon nap, Mommy cleaned and organized the front porch, as well as planted my flowers :)  However, Mommy time turned bad when I stood up underneath my fern plant hanging from the porch rail, and dumped the nest of robin eggs!  I killed five little birdies that were close to hatching, as there was little dead birdies and blood everywhere.  This totally broke my heart and ruined the rest of my day.  I watched as the Momma bird came back and searched frantically for her eggs, chirping away loudly, and what I recognized as shear panic!  It was the saddest thing ever!  Mr. Murff got some new pain medication from the vet and seems to be even more wild eyed but mobile.    He walked clear to the corner and played with his ball!  Now,  everyone is medicated and fast asleep!  Thanks Sister Kelly for taking care of the babes while I was at Zumba class,  and thank you for taking all the photos :)

Babes searching for something to play with :)
"Whatcha got there sis?"

Bodhi, despite not feeling well at all today, you still managed to be sweet to your brother... you helped put his attachment back on his walker :)  That's a good Sis!

"Here you go Bubs!" ;)

Bodhi, playing with her tool table... Aunt Debbie Riffe gave this to you Bodhi!  We were going to save it for your birthday, but Daddy thought it would be nice for you play with now, hee/hee of course! ;)

Juders, you are getting so big, and it seems like you are doing more and more everyday!

A Memorable Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day!  We played, we ate, and we played some more.  We all went to Lowes, for the third time in three days hee/hee and bought some flowers for our flower boxes.  Mommy had previously returned her Mother's Day gift and it was credited back to our account, so Mommy decided to treat herself to some flowers :)  Sister Kelly, the Governor, Uncle Cory, and Sean Franky all came over for a cookout.  Grandmoo even stopped in for a little while.  Bodhi, you said "blue, purple, ball, sister, and bubbles," today!  Yay for you!  You really struggled to get the words out, but you did, and you even repeated them!  Man oh man, it's just a matter of time before you are repeating everything anyone says :0  Bubby, when Mommy was loading you into your car seat, you grabbed hold of the car door and pulled yourself up.  You hung from the car door all by yourself!  Mommy, of course, kept her hands around your waist, but you just hung there like no big deal.  You are such a little muscle baby, a little ape boy!  You both loved all the visitors today, which is nothing new!  You laugh, crawl, run, and are all smiles when you have a house full of people playing with you and feeding you!  It was a perfect ending to our Memorial weekend, spent with family and friends.  Thank you service men and women for all of your sacrifices!

This morning, Mommy took a load of clothes and put them in your room with you, Daddy, and Jude and I went back downstairs to get the rest, when Daddy hollared for Mommy to come back up with the camera... Bodhi, you were putting on your brother's clothes :)

"Nakey Buddha" ;)
Your sister had all your clothes hee/hee

Bodhi, you just woke up from your nap and were yelling for your Momma :)

While you two were napping, Daddy went and retrieved some of your old toys for you two to play with... this being the blow-up car with balls your Sister Kelly bought you for Christmas.

Buddha, you love balls!

Buddha, Momma fed you three containers of baby food for dinner... My goodness!

Grandmoo and Buddha playing with Bodhi's baby doll hee/hee Juders, you loved the sucking sound the baby made when you stick the bottle in it's mouth :)

A Tough Decision Draws Near

Today was pretty much a bust when it came to the Mommy and Daddy fun factor.  However, GiGi came over this morning to visit you both, as well as, to drop off the Sunday Kokomo Tribune, which had you featured on the front page, Bodhi!  They used your picture to advertise for people to submit their photos.  Jude, they posted a picture of you and your Aunt Terrie on the online photo gallery :)  You both, of course,  loved your time with GiGi this morning!  While you two played with GiGi out front, Mommy touched up some of the paint in your guy's room, and Daddy tried to fix our sump pump (it's still not working).  Afterwards, Mommy fed you both and put you to down for your naps.  When you both woke up, you went with Mommy and Daddy to Lowes again.  Daddy shared some of his ice cream with you Bodhi.  We made a stop at Cone Palace where the Governor works :) Mommy then fed you both dinner and then took you outside.  Daddy had his own agenda, so we played out front without him.  Grandmoo came over to see you both for a little bit.  Mommy cleaned Mr. Arlo's ears on the front porch, played with your new bubbles with you, Bodhi, and Jude, you walked around in your walker.  Mommy then took you both for a wagon ride.  Jude, your cheeks are looking bad again :(  You are still taking your medicine, so I don't know why they are getting worse?!   We walked until you, Jude decided you had had enough!  Once home, Jude, you wanted to be nursed and go to bed.  Mommy took you, Bodhi, to your room to play and watch tv, while Mommy nursed Jude.  Daddy came up and laid in your big girl bed with you until Mommy was done with Jude.  Then Mommy put you to bed.

On a very sad note, Mommy is tired of hearing from Grandmoo how Mr. Murff needs to be put down or put to sleep, so Mommy is going to take Mr. Murff to the vet one last time and it may end up being Mr. Murff's last week with us :(  This breaks Mommy's heart, I don't even have words to convey the sadness that I feel.  I don't believe it's the right time, but I understand how Grandmoo feels it is the right time, so we'll see what the vet has to say.  No one wants Mr. Murff to suffer, and  Mommy is truly not afraid to make the decision, but I'm torn.

Bodhi, this is the picture that was on the front page of the newspaper, and Jude, this is the picture of you and your Aunt Terrie that was posted on the online photo gallery.  The pictures were taken on 5/21/11

GiGi and the babes this morning :)

"Thunder Thigh Buddha" ;)
Buddha, you were struggling to sit in the rocking chair, so GiGi helped you get situated.  Look at those rolls!

Juders, you actually knew what to do... you started rocking yourself back and forth :)  Such a smart boy!

"Weeee This is so fun!"

Bodhi, when we were getting ready to leave, you insisted on putting these green shoes on inested of your white tennis shoes (Mommy and Daddy had them in Jude's drawer because we didn't think they would fit your little Fred Flinstone feet)  hee/hee You also insisted on wearing this winter, green and white striped hat, HA!  You picked a blue and white striped hat out for Jude to wear, but he wasn't having it!  You looked so stinkin' cute.  Mommy is so proud that you are already color coordinating!

Bodhi outside playing! :)

You loved your new "huge" bubble making wand :)

You also decided to incorporate your bucket and shovel :)

"This walk is over Momma!"

"Man Bubs!"

Every year a Momma bird lays her eggs in one of my ferns.  This is this years family :)
