Remembering 9/11 and Our Snot Nose Sunday

Aside from our "Snot Nose Sunday," today was a day of remembering... remembering the events that happened on this day, ten years ago (September 11, 2001).  Mommy saw this post and felt it was important to include here for you two...

TIMES OF IMPACT: 8:46 a.m. and 9:02 a.m. Time the burning towers stood: 56 minutes and 102 minutes. Time they took to fall: 12 seconds. 2819 dead from 115 different nations. 343 Fireman/paramedics, 23 NYPD, 37 Port Authority officers.

When the terrorists crashed the planes into the Twin Towers, Mommy was living at home with Grandmoo.  We were in the living room at Grandmoo's house on Windsor Street watching the Morning Show.  The programing was interrupted to show the plane crashes, and we were both glued to the tv watching everything unfold.  Mommy was getting ready for her college accredited Yoga class, but I couldn't move from my seat on the ottoman in front of the television.  Mommy did eventually get up and attend class, a little tardy. However, everyone was too shook up to concentrate on Yoga, and the class was cancelled.  Mommy rushed home and Grandmoo and I continued to watch in horror the rest of the day's events.  Grandmoo was relieved that Mommy's move to Queens a couple of months earlier (I had moved there to attend John Jay) had fallen through.  Grandmoo and GiGi moved Mommy to Queens only to return me back home because the slum lord raised the rent.  Had Mommy stayed, I would have been flying home at some point in September for a court date regarding, Gary, Mommy's biological dad.  Mommy will never forget the feeling of sadness and hopelessness I felt that day.

Our Day:
You both continue to have the worst snot noses!  Bodhi, you asked for medicine by grabbing your throat, ears, and/or head, while groaning "awwwwe," and then you nodded your head yes while puckering your lips... like you do when given medicine.  Either you're like your Momma and really like the flavor of the Tylenol, or you feel awful, or maybe both.  Mommy kept Tylenol down you both every eight hours. One time when Mommy was about three years old,  while Grandmoo was sleeping,  Mommy snuck into the fridge and removed the childproof lid off the pink medicine, and downed it all... I'm told Grandmoo flipped out hee/hee    Lets hope you don't have those addictive genes!

Today was too beautiful not to get out, despite the constant battle to wipe your noses.  Mommy thought some fresh air would do you both some good, as well as allow Daddy some time to get work done.  Mommy took you both for a short wagon ride.  It was short because Mommy decided Mr. Arlo and Mr. Murff needed some fresh air as well.  Given their health issues, Mommy can't take them far before we're at risk of having to carry them home :(  They were both as excited, if not more excited, than you two.  It's been forever since they've gone for a walk.  It's only been in the last few days that Mr. Murff has been able to walk across the street without stopping for a break.  So we all went to the field, the Syndicate Sales field.  Mr. Murff ran the whole way.  Mommy found him a nice shade spot to rest and got you both out of the wagon to run around and chase the geese.  However, he didn't want to rest, he kept up with us!  After our little field adventure, Grandmoo came over and played with you both out front.  It was really hot and humid at that time, so you two and Grandmoo were a sweaty mess.  Mommy took advantage of the time you were playing with Grandmoo and swept the upstairs.  Grandmoo brought you both inside and Mommy got you fed lunch.  Well, you wouldn't eat anything Bodhi, not even your favorite, a banana.  Jude man, you ate enough for both you and your sister :)  Mommy then put you both down for a nap and went to work for a couple of hours.

When Mommy returned from work, Bodhi, you were awake.  Jude man, it's rare that your sister wakes before you, but today she did!  When you woke up, Daddy decided he needed a break and to get out of the house.  So, he packed you both in the car and went to Starbucks to get us a special treat, a yummmo pumpkin spice coffee!  He also admitted that he drove you two by our house HEE/HEE!  Neither Mommy or Daddy can resist driving by anytime we leave the house.  We are so super excited and hope everything goes smoothly!  While you all were out super stalking our soon-to-be new house and picking up some coffee, Mommy managed to get the downstairs swept and mopped, boy kitty fed, and, and flowers watered.

As of an hour ago, Mommy realized that she misread one of her course assignments and has lost 2% of my class grade, and I managed to miss an exam in a different course.  Mommy is about to puke!  I now have emails in asking if I can drop two courses without failing, and if they are going to be refundable.  I'm pretty certain that they aren't refundable :(  Mommy's Stats course is kicking my butt big time.  I knew I shouldn't have taken all three of the courses at once!  I was just anxious to get this Master's degree out of the way.  Mommy doesn't want to screw up her 4.0 grade average, but this Stats course looks like my 4.0 is about to come to an end!  I'll be lucky if I just pass it!  No sweet dreams for Momma tonight!  You two will get your Master's right after your undergraduate degree... this family, work, school business is for the birds!
