More Sweet Potatoes and Another Photo-Shoot

Play, play, play... and play some more.  You both played all day.  Bodhi, you dragged out all your cleaning supplies, your vacuum, your broom, your fake boxes of cleaning supplies, your rags etc... you cleaned all day long.  You managed to get in all the unlocked cabinets, drawers, everything.  Jude, you had your usual bouncy time and tummy time.  Mr. Murff played and gave both of you kisses.  When Daddy came home in between jobs, Mommy took you Bodhi for a walk around the block.  You always look out the window Bodhi, it's like your day dreaming of playing outside :) You walked Mr. Murff on his leash, and Mommy also managed to get some pictures of you for the Counting Crows Valentine cover album.   Jude you also like to look out the windows.  Every time Mommy walks by a window holding you, your head turns so fast and you just stare out.  Jude, it was too cold to take you.  Bodhi didn't last long either, a walk around the block was the perfect length.

This evening Grandmoo came over to walk you around the block Bodhi, but she didn't know Mommy had already walked you.  So, she took the boys (Mr. Murff and Mr. Arlo) for a short walk and then she came back and played with you for about a half hour while Mommy nursed Jude to sleep.   Jude, you had sweet potatoes again tonight, and once again you chowed down and ate the whole jar of baby food.  You both were so sweet again today.  Bodhi, you got fussy a few times but only because you bumped your head.  You love getting under the dinning room table, but every time you do, you stand up straight and about knock yourself out.  :(  Jude, I'm proud to report you had no head injuries today :)

Momma's Little Superstars

Before you both were awake, at about 4:00 a.m. this morning, your Momma was creating and submitting a Valentine picture of Jude to Adam Duritz with the Counting Crows for the cover contest of his soon to be released album, "All My Bloody Valentines."  Momma had the bright idea that it would be super cool if one of you two were selected for the cover of his album.  Yes, it's highly unlikely, but Mommy loves creative projects, not to mention it's ADAM DURITZ AND THE COUNTING CROWS.  Grandmoo and Sean Franky are even bigger fans of their music.  Bodhi, had it not rained then snowed, Momma and Grandmoo were going to take you next door and pose you in front of the old dirty factory, playing on the nasty dirty snow pile... all while holding a black heart.  This was the vision Mommy had for your picture submission.  Maybe tomorrow we'll be able to do it.  We have until March 4th to submit an entry.  Meanwhile, Jude your picture was posted on his website with other submissions this early evening :)

Jude, today you ate another whole glass jar of baby food, sweet potatoes!  Yay, you are on vegetable number TWO.  You seemed to enjoy it much better than the baby peas :)  Bodhi, you cried very little when Mommy put you down for your nap this afternoon, and you didn't cry at all when Daddy put you to bed this evening :)!

Both Grandmoo and Sean Franky stopped in today.  Grandmoo of course played with you both.  Sean Franky also played with you Bodhi while Daddy went and bought pizza for everyone.  Jude you just stare and smile at Sean Franky when he visits.  You were getting tired so Mommy put you to bed while Franky played with Bodhi.  Jude, you are growing soooo fast, it's unbelievable.  Bodhi, you are understanding more and more everyday.  Today, Daddy told you to make a funny face at Mommy... the one you have made since you were tiny little thing, you squint your eyes and smile a goofy smile, and you did it on cue.  Daddy loves when you make that face :)

Today was a good day... well, besides when you Bodhi accidentally sat on your brother's head when you fell, and you Jude,  cried for like 20 minutes straight.  Mommy, doesn't think you meant to do it Bodhi, and Jude, Mommy doesn't think you suffered any brain damage.  Your head has been through the ringer the last few days :(

Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy

This morning started out kind of rocky.  Jude, while Mommy was changing Bodhi on her "big girl" little girl bed, you were sitting supported by your boppy pillow, and well you decided to dive head first to the floor.  Mommy tried to grab you but didn't manage to catch you.  You were ok, landing on a pillow for the second time.  However, your head bounced once you hit the floor, and well, bounced right into the side of the glider.  You have a mark on the side of your forehead.  You immediately started your precious little scream/cry, but quickly stopped after being comforted by Mommy.  Mommy felt so horrible.

Bodhi, you still are crying when being put down for a nap and/or to go to sleep at night.  However, Mommy and Daddy can tell you goodnight and shut your door and you go to sleep within a few minutes.  You break both your Daddy's and Mommy's heart.

GiGi came by to see you both today after your naps.  She surprised us all :)  Bodhi, you did your "Daddy Dance" for GiGi, she didn't believe you had a Daddy dance, and honestly Mommy didn't know you had one either.  Daddy came out of his office from doing work and started singing the Gummy Bear song, but substituting, "your a Daddy's girl, and you just danced your little heart out...  bouncing all over the place.  It was so funny :)  GiGi also walked you around the block on foot with Mr. Murff, and she got a kick out of you because you kept giggling the whole walk.  GiGi couldn't figure out why you were giggling.  No one knows for certain why, other than you love to take walks! While you were walking with GiGi, Mommy fed Jude some baby food.

Jude, today was the first time ever that you have reached out with your arms for someone, and it just so happens that you reached out for your Momma ;)  You did this three times today.  Once after falling, once after you were done bouncing in your bouncy seat, and once when GiGi was holding you.  GiGi wanted to see if you would reach out for her, but you would only reach out for your Momma :)  Jude you also ate a whole jar of baby food today.  It was so funny, you would snap your head at the spoon every time Mommy held a bite out to feed you.  You kept going and going, so Mommy went with it, and kept feeding you (baby peas still).  Tomorrow, we will be starting on a new vegetable.  Mommy read up on feeding, and it stated that babies are just familiarizing themselves with "tasting" and learning to swallow, and that feedings at this point aren't for nutrition or eliminating feedings.... however, you are eating like a toddler hee/hee

Bodhi, you decided to take a rest on Mr. Murff ;)

Jude in his bouncy... we had to move it up a notch, you are getting so tall!

Another Day at the Park

What can Mommy say... I was refreshed after having a day to myself.  Plus, I had guilt feelings about enjoying my day so much, I wanted to make today extra special for the two of you.  After naps, Bodhi (YAY! You napped today!) Mommy got you both dressed and out the door.  Mommy took a new way to Foster Park to shake things up a little :)  We went down the big hill at the entry of the park, and though at the time I thought this was a good idea, about half way down (in a dead run) I realized this wasn't such a great idea after all.  We made it safely to the bottom though.  Bodhi, once at the park you laughed and pointed at all the dogs that passed by, and there were several.  Then after about an hour of playing on the play equipment, some teenagers showed up.  They were making out, grossing Mommy out big time, and you Bodhi stood there and stared at them ha/ha to the point that one of the couples told the couple that was making out.... "um, you guys there are kids here cut it out."  Mommy thought maybe she should shield you from this disgusting public display, but Mommy thought it was too funny watching you stare (standing in the middle of the park) with your most judgemental look on your face, not even flinching as I called your name.  Jude, after you are put in the stroller you have this serious look on your face like you are all business.  At home you happily screamed and squeaked big time, but you immediately change when you get in the stroller.  Mommy manages to get a smile out of you here and there, but I think you believe these park visits are more for your sister.  Bodhi, you again walked part of the way home, holding Mr. Murff's leash, running and playing with him.  I love to see you so happy and free.  In the house, I feel like we are all crowded and confined.

This evening Bodhi, you again (I think this is like the 3rd or 4th night in a row) made Mommy and Daddy hold and rock you until you fell asleep.   We began this process at your usual bedtime, 7:30 p.m., and right at 8:00 p.m. after holding and rocking you in our bed, Mommy gets in position to put you in your bed when the theme song to "Two and Half Men" comes on.  You (with your eyes closed) raise your arm in the air and start dancing it around.  Mommy and Daddy looked at each other and just about lost it with laughter, but we held it in.  Mommy then put you in your crib.  You woke up and cried, but Mommy told you that she loved you and to have sweet dreams and then closed your door.  You stopped crying and went to sleep shortly after.

Give Momma a Break!

Bodhi and Jude, you both went to GiGi's and Gi-Pa Poncho's for the day.  Last night Bodhi you woke Mommy and Daddy up at 12:30 a.m. and stayed awake until nearly 2:00 a.m.  So, Mommy was relieved to have a day to herself and also to work on Jude's baby book.   Bodhi you were so excited when Mommy told you where you would be spending the day.  Jude you always smile when Mommy talks to you, so you were happy too.  Momma is certain Jude that all you  hear when Mommy talks is  blah blah blah blah blah, and Mommy must say in a funny tone because you just belly laugh and smile! Mommy packed her old red "Going to Grandma's" suitcase from when she was little for you Bodhi, and Jude.  Bodhi, you insisted on trying to carry it to the car.  You always try to carry things that are too heavy for you... it's the Grills' women curse :)  GiGi and Poncho reported that Jude, you slept for an hour and a half, and that you Bodhi slept for about an hour, and that the two of you were constipated.   GiGi and Poncho made you a huge healthy lunch, as usual, and they think it will make you go to the bathroom Bodhi... hopefully not at 12:30 a.m. again tonight :)  Jude you had ate cereal for breakfast and baby food (peas) for lunch.  Also Jude, Mommy did get quite a bit done on your baby book, with some help from Steph Wray and Jennifer Sosbe Goad, two of Mommy's HS friends as well as Carrie Besser Talbott, Mommy's friend from DCS :)  So, Mommy is chalking today up as a success, as well as a wonderful break from the daily grind that is our life.  Mommy did miss you both very much though!  Mommy loves a break, but spends most of it thinking about you both!   Oh and, GiGi was left in charge of pictures of you two today... and well, she only found time to take one, ha!  Mommy took the rest, both before and after your day with GiGi and Poncho.

A Walk in the Park

Well, Bodhi and Jude, let's just say the day had a rough start!  Mommy's not going to dwell on the fact that you two woke up at 6am and then only took an hour nap this afternoon.  Mommy decided we needed an outing.  So, we loaded up the stroller, grabbed Mr. Murff  (we left Mr. Arlo behind because of his paws and stubborness)  and headed for Foster Park.  Bodhi, you were so excited, Jude you just go with the flow.  Once we made it to the park, the first this year, Jude, the first in your lifetime, Mommy put Bodhi in a swing first.  Bodhi you could hardly contain yourself giggling the whole time.  Jude, you went next and you instantly looked relaxed and an old pro.  Bodhi, when you were done swinging you got down and started pushing your bubs.  You were so cute!  You also played in the muddy rocks and dirty snow, of course, and you loved every minute of it.  Bodhi, Mommy let you walk part of the way home.  Jude you just relaxed as Mommy pushed you in the stroller.  Bodhi you ran in the old ball park field playing with Mr. Murff and picking dirty things and snow up, all while giggling.  All Mommy had to say was, "Bye Bye," and you came a running.  You even pretended the stroller was chasing you at one point, you would run and get real close to the stroller and then laugh and run away.  Crippled Mr. Murff really enjoyed the long walk too.  Mr. Arlo wouldn't have made it so he didn't get to go today.  On our way home, we passed by Mommy's all time favorite tree, the Wildcat Creek, a reindeer statue that Mr. Murff and Mr. Arlo use to growl at as pups... and you Bodhi, now laugh and point at every time we pass by, a neighborhood dog that runs off leash and pesters us all... which, Bodhi you find him hysterical and entertaining, lots of trash, Haynes, and the Seashore aka Peeshore aka Kokomo Beach.  These are the sights of your guys' childhood trips to the park.

Tonight, Bodhi you screamed a horrible scream when Mommy laid you down, but Mommy painstakingly left the room to let you try to cry it out.   You only cried for a few minutes before falling asleep.  Mommy went to check on you and you were sound asleep snuggled up with your monkey.  Mommy and Daddy think you are going experiencing some attachment issues. Jude, you also went right to sleep :)
