Lost Sunday

Today, Daddy wanted to pick up some end of the season perennials for our yard (again), so we headed to the nursery and picked out some pretty flowers to compliment our ever-growing garden.  AND that's about the extent of Mommy's memory regarding our Sunday (it's been over a week ago).  Daddy had promised to write Sunday's blog, and Mommy had prepared all the others but not yet published them; in anticipation of Daddy sending me Sunday's entry.  Daddy again, wrote the wrong blog, and well, Mommy only remembers what she has too ha/ha!   I'm sure Daddy read the Sunday paper, and the two of you probably joined him in making Mommy's coffee, per our usual routine... so, I'm guessing :)

So, this Sunday was "lost,"  but every day with the two of you is a blessing, so it had to have been a good day!

A Rain Soaked Saturday

Wow, the weather in recent days has been superb for tomato plants and weeds, but not quite user friendly for family fun—hot, humid, wet, wet, wet!

The Saturday began conventionally, with Daddy off to work early and returning by 10 a.m. (actually running a little late, as Daddy first dropped off the Mazda at City Tire to have an alignment evaluation, and then walked home to return later for the car). Daddy barely made it to our door, before the initial rains began to fallJ.

Once home, Daddy and Mommy finished loading the precious cargo (yes, that would be the two of youJ) in the car to head to the Farmer’s Market—we decided it would be fool-hardy to attempt a carriage ride with the pending rains, and boy was that an intelligent choice! Once at the Farmer’s Market Daddy purchased some Amish tomatoes, Mommy purchased some cut wild flowers, and Mommy and Daddy purchased some banana bread and a couple of cookies for a couple of cookie monstersJ. It began to rain, as we left hurriedly the Farmer’s Market and drove a couple of blocks for an early lunch at one of Mommy’s restaurant discoveries—the Main Street CafĂ©—the homemade quiche, biscuits and gravy, and blueberry muffin were delicious—Mommy has indeed made a discovery for us! Even the coffee was extraordinary!

After our late breakfast-early lunch, we went on an antiquing tour of some of our favorite antique stores, and worked in picking up the Mazda and driving it home before continuing on our antique tourJ.  We also made our way to a nursery where we stocked up our selected needs to fulfill our pledge that we would construct a “fairy garden” in our backyard near your swingset-play areaJ.

Mommy and Daddy both had exhausting weeks, and by the time we concluded our shopping adventure, we were truly worn out. We made our way home and prepared a slumber party setting in our study for the three amigos (Bodhi, Buddha, and Daddy) to settle in for the night. A few “my shows” on Nickelodeon for Ms. Bodhi, and a few “Max and Ruby stories” for Mister Buddha, and before you knew it, we had all drifted into dreamland.

Daddy dreamed he whispered “night, night,” and dreamed he heard Mommy whisper back, “night, night.”

It was then official, “night, night!”

A Special Lunch Date

We were getting cleaned up when Mommy had a thought...we'll see if Aunt Laura Stiner has had lunch yet, if not, we'll take her to lunch :)  Laura had asked if Dianna, Sam, or I wanted to meet for lunch last week, and well, last week was super busy.  Today, Mommy had some errands to run, including placing Uncle Dan's obituary in our local newspaper, that's why we were getting cleaned up.  However, Mommy was super excited to hear that Laura didn't have lunch plans.  We decided to meet downtown at the new Main Street Cafe (Mommy's new favorite spot)!  You two were actually super excited, and warmed right up to Laura...she has that effect on people :)

We attempted to pay for Aunt Laura's lunch, but she used her connections so we couldn't :(  Mommy ordered you two a strawberry lemonade (which was totally yummy) a three-cheese grilled cheese sandwich, and Mommy a BLT.  Laura ordered a pesto and insisted that we all try it.  It was to die for!  You both loved it and ended up eating Laura's other half!!!  We had good conversation, and we all enjoyed ourselves.  It was a lovely lunch!

We then ran errands, and spent the remainder of the day running a few errands.  You two were troopers at the Kokomo Tribune!  We were there forever, only to discover that we needed confirmation of Uncle Dan's death before they would print his obituary!  :(  Plus, who knew it would it would cost $227.50, are you kidding me!!!  Mommy talked to both Aunt Chris and Papaw off and on the remainder of the evening trying to get things sorted out.  Mommy has to email pictures to Aunt Chris, and Mommy couldn't get our fax machine to work to receive Uncle Dan's death certificate.  Mommy had to then go to work for a few hours (here in Kokomo).  Afterwards, Mommy picked you two and Daddy up to go out to eat at Applebee's for dinner.

We ran into Aunt Amanda Federspill and family :)  We have yet to see little baby Owen, and well we got to see him tonight!  He is so stinkin' precious, and Mia and Ava are all grown up!  Mommy and Daddy hadn't yet got them a little Owen present yet, so we opted to take care of their dinner bill. It was supposed to be a surprise, but the waitress ended up telling them :)  We enjoyed our dinner, Jude, you actually ate two kids meals!!!!  You are such a little Sean Franky!

After dinner we headed over to the dollar store across the street, and picked up some household supplies and special treats for babes.  We then headed home.  Mommy gave you both a bath and off to bed you went.  Mommy took care of critters, while Daddy cleaned up Mr. Arlo's pee mess.  Mr. Arlo has been non-stop peeing in on the hardwood floors, right in front of our stairs for some reason.  He's old!  It's quite gross but at least it's on wood that we can clean up.  No matter how many times he goes out, he's still messing in the same spot, uggggh!  Dora is also on the run.  She runs from Momma and will not come to me for anything.  Mommy and Daddy have decided to give her a chance inside since she doesn't like the kittens, but Momma can't catch the little turdball!

Aunt Laura took this picture of you two at lunch. We giggled at you two going at your strawberry lemonades ha/ha

Monster University

Mommy had an opportunity to supervise an extra visit for a co-worker, but Mommy didn't want Grandmoo to have to manage you two for any extra hours, since she's watching you twice this week.  Mommy headed to work at about 2pm, but before then, we spent the morning caring for critters, cleaning up poo out of the yard, and Mommy gathering up work supplies.  You both were still tired from yesterday, but little did you guys know; Grandmoo and GiGi had a big surprise for you.  Mommy dressed you both up in nice dress clothes; a summer dress for you, Bodhi, and a cute short outfit for you, Buddha.  Both of you asked, "why you dressing us up Momma."  ha/ha!  You two are too smart.

Daddy had purchased movie passes and some snack passes just for this special occasion.  We didn't know when GiGi would feel up to taking you two, but both GiGi and Grandmoo promised to take you four months back :)  Once we arrived at Grandmoo's, GiGi and Grandmoo surprised you two.  Bodhi, you had just said this morning, "Mommy each day keeps going by and I haven't seen Monster University yet."  HA!  Well, you got your wish.

Grandmoo and GiGi report that you, Ms. Bodhi, made it through the entire movie.  You, Buddha, did not!  Grandmoo had to take you outside to walk around and even take you to the car.  Bodhi, you reported that you LOVED the movie.  You did too, Jude, even if you didn't watch it all :)  Mommy got off work a little early, so Mommy rushed over to get you two.  You both had lots to talk about :)

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet monsters!

Marion Wave Pool

This morning you two awakened roaring to go.  Mommy announced that we would be joining the Rudd clan and Grandmoo for a swim day.  Mommy packed us all up with little time to do much of anything else, and then we headed to Grandmoo's house to pick her up.  We then took a car ride to Marion.  Aunt Dianna had bought passes on Groupon for the swim park, and Mommy agreed to reimburse her for ours and make it a fun "Babes Day."

Once there we were surprised to see that it wasn't all that busy.  We got a front row parking space and headed inside.  There was a splash area with slides for you two, a very slow lazy river, several little water areas, a couple of large water slides, and a wave pool.  You two did not care for the wave pool ha/ha!  Mommy and Dianna later escaped and had some Mommy times in the "Power Hour," waves.  The second session through Mommy felt like she was drowning a couple of times hee/hee Mommy is out shape!  Grandmoo and Mommy took turns taking you two to the potty and playing in the splash area with you.  Mommy bought you two hot dogs and icey drinks for lunch, but you two were too excited to enjoy ice cream the first go around.  You both wanted to swim non-stop. :)

We spent the entire day at the pool.  You two were getting so cranky and fussy but didn't want to leave.  We finally managed to pull you both away and packed you two in the car.  You both instantly fell asleep.  Mommy dropped Grandmoo off and then picked up some dinner for us.  Grandmoo doesn't ever eat out, so she didn't join us.  Once home, Mommy took care of critters, and then my two legged critters, Bodhi and Buddha.  You two ate dinner and took a bath and then it was lights out.  You two were exhausted!

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

Lost & Found

We spent the morning taking care of critters, playing on the swing set, and getting ready to start Mommy's work day.  Aunt Ti was scheduled to watch you, but when there was a possibility that her babes had strep throat, Grandmoo stepped in and said she wanted to watch the two of you (she didn't want to get sick come Thursday when she was scheduled to watch you hee/hee).

So, we stopped by Starbucks to get Grandmoo a "pick-me-up" coffee :) and headed over.  Mommy dropped you off with the wagon, sleeping bags, p.j.'s and all other requested supplies :)  You two were super excited and screamed at Grandmoo when you saw her.

Mommy headed to work and later received a report, that you, Ms. Bodhi, spotted a lost kitten.  Amy, Mommy's neighbor had been worried about the kitten that had wondered off.  Amy had taken on the liter when the so-called owner didn't want to care for them anymore.  Grandmoo was pulling you and your brother in the wagon, on the way to Highland Park when you spotted the kitten.  Grandmoo thought that you were pointing at a dog in a person's yard, but nope, you my little cat girl, saw a kitty.

The kitten had joined up with another a liter and Momma cat, but the Momma cat was feeding her.  The kitten was smart enough to stick around the group for protection.  Grandmoo snatched up the kitten and you all headed to Amy's.  The kitten was so happy to be reunited with her siblings and Momma!  Bodhi saved the day!!!!

Both of you reported having a great time with Grandmoo.  Unfortunately, Grandmoo's lower back and hips went out :(  So Grandmoo was exhausted and in pain.  Hopefully Grandmoo will feel better in the morning...we have a big day planned :)

Jude's Gymnastics Career Comes To An End :)-

This morning Mommy had you two up and dressed early.  Today was Jude's last gymnastics class woot woot!  Bodhi, it's your turn now sister!  Buddha, Mommy bribed you with "holiday" aka sprite, a visit to GiGi's, and candy ha/ha all you have to do is participate.  Well, we made it, and you pulled your normal "Mommy, go with me, Mommy, I want you!"  Mommy walked you out and was able to sneak off.  Bodhi, you were the biggest little girl ever.  You watched through the glass without crying :)  You then came into the gym area to sit with Mommy.  Mommy decided when Jude came running for Mommy, I'd have you, Ms. Bodhi, walk your brother back out to Ms. Chanti.  Well, you took brother's hand and walked him out, giving him a pep talk the entire way hee/hee  AND it worked!

Ms. Chanti invited you, Ms. Bodhi, to participate in one of the games :)  We had signed you up for next session prior to Jude's last session starting.  You were super excited, but super bummed you had to wait another week.  So, you were super excited to get to play in one Jude's class activities!  You and your brother are both like two feet taller than the other kids, so you both looked hilarious out there together.  Bodhi, you did so well, and you listened perfectly.  Mommy is so excited that you get to start going to class next week!  You will do so great :)

Jude, even though you didn't participate in the entire class, but most of this week's class, and even though you haven't participated in the past three classes ha/ha, you still took your participation ribbon, stood on the little stage, and waived your ribbon like the proudest little gymnast!  You little turd!

After gymnastics, we headed to GiGi's.  She finally looks well enough not to scare you both ha/ha! You two were super excited to see your GiGi, it's been what feels like forever!  AND WOW!  GiGi looks great.  She's still swollen, bruised, and has a lot of healing to do, but wow, she looks 20 years younger already!  You two didn't notice :)-  you were just happy to see GiGi and Gi-Pa.  We stayed and visited long enough for the two of you to have a bowl of pudding and a popsicle.  We were then off to find you a gymnastics outfit Ms. Bodhi girl.  We went to Dunham's but they didn't carry them and instructed us to go to Flipsters...which is where we were earlier for Jude's class ha/ha.  So, we headed back to pick out an outfit.  Luckily they had a blue outfit...one with a little glitz and blue kitty cat print hee/hee.  You look adorable in it!

The remainder of the day was spent playing and cleaning and playing some more :)  Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

1
Really?!?!  HAHA!  You were all about getting your ribbon :)

Wizard of Oz

Mommy again kicked work's bottom!  Mommy knocked out the remainder of work tasks left over from yesterday.  Afterwards, Mommy took you two outdoors to play your little hearts out.  Mommy too, got in a bathing suit and gave both Mr. Arlo and Ms. Allie a good scrubbing!  It was so hot out, the ice cold water from the hose was a bit of a shocker, but it felt nice (even if I was in a baby tub with dirty dogs, ugggh).  You two got the biggest kick out of Mommy giving the dogs a bath, while in the tub with them.  Each of you helped Mommy by fetching Mommy various supplies :)  Afterwards, you two chased Ms. Alley and Mr. Arlo with a towel around the yard, as they shook their smelly water all over us hee/hee .

You two then moved on to your swimming pool...up and down the slide, right into the pool over and over again.  When you two became bored with sliding into your pool, you moved on to the kitties and then onto your bikes.  About that time, Dianna and her crew joined us.  Mommy and Dianna decided we were going to throw together a cookout, and enjoy a glass of wine while you all played.  Well, that plan didn't last long.  Before we knew it, the sky darkened, storm clouds rushed in, and then it downpoured, and poured and poured!! UGGGGGH!  It never fails, anytime Aunt Dianna and I plan an outdoor dining experience/playdate, it always rains!  Oh well.  Mommy drove Aunt Dianna and her precious cargo home to rescue their puppy :)  and then we returned home for our dinner.

Daddy brought home the new Wizard of Oz movie; which was appropriate given the frightful weather conditions outdoors.  Mommy watched the original version of the Wizard of Oz probably a million times as a child, no joke, just ask GiGi or Great Papaw Grills.  Bodhi, you were not amused at first.  Mommy and Daddy kept telling you to hang in there, it would turn to color ha/ha  Well, you made it through, and by the end of the movie (Mommy and Jude passed out) but Mommy managed to wake up to watch the ending...you, Ms. Bodhi started crying.  Mommy and Daddy were like "what's wrong Bo, what's wrong."  You squeaked out a precious, "I loved that movie!"  You are so precious!  :)

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

Super Daddy Day

Yes, this Saturday was indeed a super Daddy day with Bodhi and Buddha! First, Daddy worked as usual his Saturday morning domestic violence intervention facilitation from 8:00 a – 10 a, and immediately upon return home gathered up his precious cargo (yep, Bodhi and BuddhaJ) and loaded the two of you in the carriage for our traditional stroll downtown to the Farmer’s Market. We made our usual rounds, disappointed we were too late to get our Dragonwood honey, purchased each of you a chocolate chip cookie, and of course paid Bonkers the Clown a visit and obtained a “blue kitty” balloon and a “yellow puppy” balloon to accompany us on our continued journey.

From Farmer’s Market we trekked southwest to Foster Park where of course we played until Daddy was exhausted, and Daddy issued a text-message SOS to Mommy to please join us in the park for a picnic, after finishing her appointments. At approximately 1:30 p.m. Mommy joined us at a picnic table with McDonald’s lunch treats, and just in time to stave off two tired and hungry little angels. By then, the three of us had laid down on a blanket and checked out the clouds, and you repeatedly instructed Daddy “again” after each story about brother and sister, Max and Ruby, and Bubble Guppies going on adventure walks near “the deep, dark woods” where they encountered the “ugly, old witch” and where they had “ventured too far into the DEEP, DARK WOODS” to have a picnic of “blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas, oranges and apples” and where they are saved “by SUPER DADDY.” Your tolerance for this basic, repeated story line (changing only the principal characters from Bodhi and Buddha, Max and Ruby, and Bubble Guppies) is nothing short of incredible, Jude LiamJ! And you join, right in, Ms. Bodhi, enthusiastic as your brother to hear the story told over and over and over….J!

After our cloud gazing, story-telling, park playground playing, and picnic with Mommy, two precious baby angels were ready for an afternoon nap (and so were Mommy and Daddy) so Bodhi you joined Mommy in the Toyota for the trip home, and Buddha you opted to ride in “the carriage” to accompany Daddy on the walk home. By late afternoon, we were all settled in for a siestaJ.

By 5:30 p.m., Daddy was hustling the two of you back into action so that the three of us could return to Foster Park for the evening “Tribute to the Beatles” concert. Mommy was using the time to catch up on some important work, so again it was the “three amigos” on our own :). We of course had to first play on the playground equipment, then go to Crazy Jay’s Ice Cream Parlor across from the park for some vanilla ice cream with sprinkles (followed by a dessert of Super Man ice cream split between the two of you---Daddy was not impressed when he discovered Super Man Ice cream is merely vanilla ice cream colored in red, yellow and blue coloring---but the two of you were mightily impressed :), then back to the park for kettle corn, Kona Ice treats, root beer float and a surprise visit with Aunt Nettie (who volunteered to take care of you, Ms. Bodhi, as Daddy struggled to find a secluded tree for Mister Buddha to pee on :).  After fully enjoying our share of the concert, around 9:30 p we three adventurers made our way home and called it an evening with a Daddy slumber party on the study floor (yes, love has no bounds). What a wonderful, beautiful, magical, adventurous Saturday!!! We missed you, Mommy!!!

Bodhi with Uncle Jeff (Aunt Nettie's husband :)

Aunt Nettie sent these adorable pictures while Mommy was at home working :(

Surprise, Dave Matthews Band Concert

Wow, what a day. Almost a blur. Daddy is exhausted, no less so is Mommy.
Daddy was off early for his 8:00 a.m. Friday class, then hurriedly attempted to get caught up on work, and then keep his pledge to Mommy to get home in time for her to go do her work.

The afternoon was quickly upon us, and nap time took some edge off Daddy’s edginess, further exacerbated by Daddy’s failure to realize that tonight was the scheduled Dave Matthews Band concert in Noblesville. Yikes!  Grandpa stopped by and played with the two of you outside in your pool while Mommy cared for the critters.

Mommy made arrangements for Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron to take care of the two of you, and you both were jazzed about the prospect of having a “slumber party” with them! Sure enough, Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron came through and were there at our West Walnut castle to pick the two of you up, and Mommy and Daddy were immediately off to the concert! On the way there, Sister Kelly sent us a video-voice message from our curly haired baby girl angel asking “why can’t we go to the concert with you?” Mommy’s and Daddy’s hearts both sank, we had taken the two of you to concerts routinely! We assured both of you in a return voice-video that we would all be going together to the Bob Dylan concert in two weeksJ.

Once at the concert, Mommy and Daddy truly enjoyed “our date,” though admittedly Daddy’s back was hurting so critically bad that Daddy unsuccessfully attempted to anesthetize it with alcoholL. It was frankly the kind of thinking error Daddy would be most unyielding about from any of his children. Mommy ended up rescuing Daddy by driving home from the concertJ. While at the concert, Mommy and Daddy were able to visit a little with their friends Laura and Troy Stiner, and of course Mommy enjoyed the opportunity to hear (and seeJ) Dave Matthews! Still, both Mommy and Daddy admitted it was not the same attending a concert without the two of you!
By the time we made our way home, Sister Kelly had contacted Mommy to inform her you all would be waiting for us, that the two of you had reneged on the sleep-over propositionJ. Indeed, when we came in, you were on the downstairs couch sound asleep, insisting on “waiting up” for us, Ms. Bodhi, and your brother was in his bed sound asleep.

We thanked Brother Aaron and Sister Kelly, and Mommy and Daddy were not far behind the two of you in calling it a night. Daddy was not looking forward to work the next day, and was writhing in pain from a back which shows no sign of reliefL. And Mommy rose to the occasion and made sure we were all safe and sound asleep, before she called an end to her “surprise” Dave Matthews Band concert. There’s no place like home, and there is no substitute for family. Thank you Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron. Thank you, Mommy. Bless you, babies. Night, night all!

On our way to Dave :)

A Day In Paradise

Well, you have both been begging to go to Kokomo Beach aka Pee Shore aka Sea Shore since last summer when we all went....and then, all winter long, through springtime, and well today was the day. Mommy promised you last week that we would go one day this week, and Mommy made sure her calendar was clear so that I could take you today :)  Aunt Dianna sent Mommy a text last night asking what we were doing today, well, she had the same plan in mind so we decided to go together :)

We made it to the pool at 11:30 a.m. spending a whopping $13 dollars to get inside hee/hee  We then spent another $22 on junk food throughout the day.  We literally stayed all day (we had to get our money's worth).  Overall, Mommy was impressed with the two of you.  There were moments when I thought I was going to have to take you two home, but you guys managed to straighten yourselves out.  Mommy even talked you two into to walking out to the pool a couple times (holding hands) by yourselves :)  You guys were so proud of yourself, and Mommy was thrilled to see you two looking out for one another and exploring.  However, Mommy spent most of the day bouncing you two around the pool and playing.  Mommy didn't lose either of you today, thank goodness, but we did have one little mishap.  Dianna and Mommy laughed and laughed and laughed.  All eight of us went on the lazy river, and well, Mommy couldn't get comfortable so Aunt Dianna encouraged Mommy to readjust ha/ha!  Well, Mommy readjusted alright, I flipped you, Buddha right off (flipping into the water) but I managed to keep hold of your arm and flipped you back onto the raft.  You were traumatized and probably in shock, but Mommy couldn't stop laughing.  It was an unbelievable acrobatic move!

As a funny side note... Norah kept telling her Mommy, Dianna, that there was poop in the water.  Well, they cleared the pool out because there was in fact poop in the pool.  Aunt Dianna told Mommy (who was clueless) that they were clearing the pool because of poo ha/ha!  Mommy sure hopes it wasn't you, Jude man!  You refused to wear a swim diaper, but you did go to the bathroom several times so I don't think it was you :)-

After our extremely long day we headed home.  You both were so tired, begging Mommy to go to bed.  Mommy wouldn't let you since it was only 6pm;  I knew you two would just nap and end up staying up all night long.  Mommy let you guys ride your bikes, and our new neighbors invited you over to play in their super cool table sand box.  We played and played!  Bodhi, you then helped Mommy water the flowers, and Daddy arrived home with a coffee for Momma :)  Love you Daddy!   You two insisted on going inside so you could get your p.j.'s on and go to bed :)  Sean Franky stopped by and visited, but you two were too tired.

Nighty night sweet babes!  You both expressed having a fun day...and told Daddy, our neighbor, and everyone else you came in contact with... "we went to the swim park today," and "we went to the pee shore today."  You guys were in paradise!  Mommy is going to enroll you in swim lessons this summer :)

Thank you Aunt Dianna, Kota, Nathan, Norah, and Rowan for going with us!  You guys were a blast to spend the day with (as usual).  :)

An Evening with Aunt Ti aka Dianna

Uggggggh!  Mommy was so tired, no joke!  Mommy stayed up late cleaning and writing, and man oh man did I not want to get up.  Buddha, you continue to sneak down to the fridge and pull food out, uggggh!  So Mommy was forced to get up and moving.  Since GiGi had surgery, Aunt Ti has agreed to watch the two of you in her absence.  Thankfully, you both cheered when Mommy announced that you would be spending the evening with Aunt Ti and family :)

Mommy drove you two out to Greentown at 2pm.  Jude man, you of course cried and didn't want Mommy to leave.  Aunt Ti was able to distract you and calm you down with a doughnut ha/ha!  Bodhi, you were so excited about the fish and seeing everyone, so you were good to go :)  You've become such a big girl!  Mommy left for work, and later received a report from Daddy that Aunt Ti (or "Dianna" as you teased Bodhi) gave you both a bath and found a horrible bruise behind your ear Juders.  You two had a blast and were so exhausted by the time Daddy picked you up at 8:30 p.m., you both fell right to sleep in the car.  Aunt Ti says you both played on the bouncey balls; Jude you threw one of the balls into the neighbor's yard who has a dog who likes to eat the balls (we now owe Mr. Andrew a new bouncy ball).

Mommy made it home sometime after 10:30 p.m. and checked in on the kitties.  Daddy was a super Daddy and managed to get Dora locked in with Garfield and Sundae for the night :)

Sweet dreams my exhausted babes!!!

Pictures from Aunt Ti, thank you Aunt Ti!  We love you!!! :)

Busy Monday

This morning Mommy arranged for you, Jude Liam, to go with Aunt Dianna and her family to gymnastics.  Mommy had to cover a visit observation for my boss in Peru, and the only time Mommy could fit it in was this morning :(  Mommy thought this might be a good opportunity for you to get in the swing of actually participating again.  You are so attached to your Momma, it's no joke!!!  Bodhi, you went to Grandmoo's so Dianna wouldn't have to maintain both and your brother and her four!!! Dianna was definitely super Momma this morning, especially after you screamed for ten whole minutes Buddha!  Poor Dianna!

Bodhi, you went to the park with Grandmoo, and Jude man, you reportedly half-way participated in gymnastics.  Dianna said she had to be firm with you (which doesn't work with Mommy) and you tried to come out a few times, but you did participate, good grief!  Once this session is over, you are done little guy.  Sister is more than happy to fill your spot.

The rest of the evening was spent playing outdoors with kitties, followed by Mommy cleaning indoors until 3am in the morning and writing reports, ugggh!  Mommy hasn't done that in a while.

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

Father’s Day 2013

A very special weekend came to a close today on Father’s Day 2013. Our day began with Mommy serving Daddy a special coffee treat and all of us sharing our morning watching our Sunday morning news shows (and reading our Sunday newspaper which GiPa so thoughtfully brought over and left secretly on the porch, even while GiGi was still recuperating from her surgery).

Mommy and the two of you gave Daddy beautiful (heart wrenchingJ) Father’s Day cards and adorable gifts that the three of you secretly had obtained two days earlier (a miniature Buddha statue, Buddha sitting in front of a Bodhi Tree; and a Buddha desk-pen holder)! After our celebration we ventured out to an antique store to pick up a purchase Mommy made for our back yard, and then on to Harbor Freight Tools to purchase a craft/work bench Daddy has been wanting for our garageJ.

Afterwards, we made a short trip to the Mall to purchase some summer shoes for our Princess and Prince of Indiana, then purchased a subway sandwich to supplement our packed cheesecake and root beer picnic cooler for a celebration visit to Foster ParkJ. We sat at a picnic table and enjoyed our picnic and our companyJ and then of course made our way to the playground to give equal time to energetic toddler-angels (watching the two of you on Father’s Day made Daddy realize his babies are truly now (AmazonJ) toddlers). “We” played happily for over an hour, Daddy mesmerized by the two of you repeatedly climbing the highest slide in the park and valiantly sliding your hearts out (and occasionally almost stopping Daddy’s). We of course had to stroll down below the bridge to check out the status of the “tide” of the Wildcat Creek, the two of you are fascinated by the variable depth and rising waters due to weather of the creek (encouraged in your interest by the imaginative urgings of GrandmooJ).

After picnic and playtime, we made our way home and played outside in the back yard, visiting and caring for our kitties, Sundae and Garfield, while Daddy did some maintenance work around our perennial garden, and being blessed by a visit from Brother Sean Francis who stopped by to wish Daddy a happy Father’s Day and visit his familyJ. While we visited and played in the back yard, we had an opportunity to meet our new neighbors, Steve and Sheila Bower (actually Daddy has known Sheila for some years and Sheila is a close friend of Daddy’s friend and work colleague, Laura Hapner)! We learned that Steve is a musician and plans to convert the out building on the property to a rehearsal room for he and his band members, and he and Sheila enthusiastically welcomed us to join in the jam sessionsJ!

As the day finally settled down, we all made our way inside our beautiful home and settled in for a night of thanks for the love we treasure in each other, for the blessing of our family, and in celebration of a fun-filled Father’s Day weekend that means the world to Daddy ManJ.

Love, love, love!!!

PS Mommy called but was not able to get a hold of Grandpa :(  Mommy wished Grandpa a Happy Father's Day and informed him that I had a card and cheesecake waiting on him :)

Saturday On the Road

Friday’s hectic day was followed by another hectic day, a long hectic day!
Daddy was up early and off to work, concerned again Mister Buddha that you would find yourself to some form of mischief, like going out the back door or getting into the refrigerator, so Daddy kissed Mommy and awakened her to be on Jude alertJ.

When Daddy got home from work, Mommy was hurriedly finishing getting everyone ready for our road trip to Westfield to get our Mazda serviced and to look over prospective new vehicles. We first made our routine stopover at the Farmer’s Market, and again Daddy was disappointed Mary and her husband were not there yet another week. We were additionally disappointed that there was no honey available from our favorite vendor Dragonwood, still we purchased goodies from our other favorite vendor, the Amish bakersJ. We, of course, had to additionally visit with Bonkers the clown and receive from him a gift of a balloon animal for each of youJ.

Once in Westfield, we waited patiently while we had the oil changed in the Mazda and the tires rotated (Mommy and Daddy follow Papaw’s advice and take care of our vehiclesJ) and spoke with a sales representative the possibility of trading our Mazda 3 in for a new Mazda 3; that prospect remains under consideration though Mommy and Daddy would prefer to purchase a vehicle from our friends, the Stiner’s.

After our visit at the car dealer, we hurriedly rushed to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner, anxious to ultimately return home to visit with Brother Ryan and Sister Holly who were making a special trip to see Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron and to wish Daddy a Happy Father’s DayJ! After our dinner, we stopped by the Mini-Cooper dealership and had the Mazda appraised for trade-in and spoke with some sales representatives about the purchase of a Mini-Cooper. Daddy became very stressed at falling behind our time-table and frustrated further by traffic problems due to construction all around Indianapolis and Carmel.

It was nearly 4:30 p.m. when we finally arrived back home to find Brother Ryan and Sister Holly and Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron waiting for us, and Daddy cherished the opportunity to visit with Brother Ryan whom we so seldom see---it really, really, really made for a special Father’s Day weekend that he and Sister Holly took the time to come from South Bend for the visit. After our visit, which always seems so very short, Brother Ryan and Sister Holly and Brother Aaron and Sister Kelly were on their way, and the toll of the day began quickly to show on all of us.

We settled in for the night, blessed by the love we have for each other and enchanted by the happiness of our very, very, very special family. Daddy truly was thoughtful of a magnificent Father’s Day weekend underway…and it wasn’t even over yetJ.

A Hard Day in Jericho or A Hard Day at Flat Rock

Daddy worked with a friend who used to use these expressions when it was a difficult day at work, Daddy never quite understood what made “Jericho” or “Flat Rock” likely references for difficult days, assuming some connection with a biblical battle or classic Western (or both), but today would have fit the description—it was a difficult dayL.

Daddy was up and away quite early, being certain to lock both the regular doors and screen doors behind him, as you have become a bit of an escape artist young BuddhaJ. You have also become something of a household “menace” in a recent habit of raiding the refrigerator and leaving the refrigerator door standing openL. Daddy and Mommy expect you to become a refrigerator raider sometime in your teen years, it just appears you are at least a decade ahead of your timeJ.

After Daddy’s early morning class, Daddy hurried home to watch the Prince and Princess of Indiana, while Mommy did one of her jobs, then when Mommy returned home, Daddy rushed back to work, and did not have an opportunity to come back home until late afternoon---we were all looking forward to a special Father’s Day weekend, but work has both Mommy and Daddy stretched and stressed to the limitL.

By the time we all settled in from work for an afternoon together, Mommy and Daddy alternated mowing the yard, Mommy worked in the yard and did some planting in our perennial garden in our back yard, and Daddy and Bodhi and Buddha took a nap togetherJ. After our nap, Mommy took the two of you off on a secret mission, which in part included a visit to an antique store and purchase of some adornments for our beautiful back yard, a discovery of a birthday present for our friend Aunt Diana, and a secret Daddy wouldn’t discover for two more daysJ.

By the time early evening rolled around, we were off to Greentown to celebrate Brother Aaron’s birthday, where we found Sister Kelly had really decked their house out for a great birthday celebration! We all enjoyed our dinner and birthday dessert, and gave Brother Aaron his birthday hugs and kisses, and then we were off again to head home and settle in for the night. At least celebrating Brother Aaron’s birthday gave a happy respite from a difficult dayJ!

By the time evening settled we all were ready for a good night’s rest, a hard day in Jericho or a hard day at Flat Rock done and over. Thank goodness. And thank heaven for two precious angel babies!

Today is Grandmoo's actual birthday!  Happy Birthday Grandmoo!  GiGi's surgery went well, she is now on a long road to recovery :)

Comfort Critters

Our critters have been keeping us busy busy busy.  Mommy doesn't know what she was thinking when she decided to get Dora two roommates ha/ha, but boy are they super adorable!  Since Mommy has been working more, everything else has been slipping...except with the two of you.  We've been managing as Mommy's work schedule has been increasing; you two haven't complained about the extra Sister Kelly, Grandmoo, and GiGi time.  Mommy has some financial goals to accomplish this summer (usually we are using Daddy's summer pay to renovate, but not this summer...we have got to get back to ZERO debt)! It's truly driving Mommy bonkers!  Anyway, Mommy got you two fed, packed, dressed, and out the door by noon.  We first had to run some errands; post office, gas, etc... Then it was off to Grandmoo's house.  Usually GiGi and Gi-Pa watch you on Thursdays but GiGi had to get a shot in her knee and wanted to clean her house before her surgery scheduled for tomorrow.

Yes, GiGi is having plastic surgery ha/ha!  Grandmoo and Mommy finally talked her into doing something for herself for once, something she's always wanted to do, but GiGi is the biggest chicken EVER!  After years of encouraging her, we finally got her talked into removing her extra neck!  Now, GiGi is an incredibly beautiful GiGi, and she's perfect the way she is, however, she's felt uncomfortable and self conscious about her neck for YEARS.  Now Daddy totally disagrees with GiGi's decision, and he hates that Grandmoo and Mommy talked her into having the procedure :/  BUT Daddy, GiGi has worked hard her entire life, has never done anything for herself, and is always doing for others...so Daddy, you are wrong ha/ha!  However, Mommy and Grandmoo are now nervous that she is finally going through with it.  Here GiGi LOVES life and LOVES the two of you more than anything; she's healthy, happy, and perfect, so what if something goes wrong???....yep, Mommy and Grandmoo would just die!  We'd most definitely be responsible :/  So, we'll all be nervous, but sending positive vibes and prayers until GiGi is through with her surgery!

Anyway, you two enjoyed a super LONG evening with Grandmoo.  She made you guys your requested dinner; spaghetti and meatballs, yum!  Mommy took Grandmoo the stroller as she requested,  and you all went to the park :)  Grandmoo brought the two of you home late night.  Totally exhausted.  By the time Mommy made it home, sometime after 10pm, you two were already in bed.  Mommy took care of the kittens and then the dogs, and then took GiGi a bag with one of your favorite Hello Kitty's, Bodhi, and one of your favorite doggies, Jude man.  Mommy wrote GiGi a note (explaining that the cat and dog were to be used to help comfort), put the two stuffed animals into a bag, and then left  the package hanging on her back door to find in the morning before her surgery.

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet exhausted babes!  Fingers crossed for GiGi!!!

Dennis The Menace

Mommy had to cover for a co-worker today, so Mommy arranged for Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron to come sit with you two while Daddy went to work from 11am-1pm.  Mommy had to leave early, 9:30 a.m. to drive to Lafayette for an 11am-3pm visit.  Mommy was worried about the two of you all day, but I kept it in check and didn't text Daddy with a 1,000 questions (well Mommy's intuition is never off)!

You two apparently had a great time with Sister Kelly because you had all your toys strung out all over your rooms :/  Sister Kelly is gonna have to get firm with the two of you!  However, the scare came when Daddy arrived home from work and put you both to bed for a nap.  Well, Daddy of course decided he was going to nap before returning to work 5pm-7pm.  Daddy reports that you, Buddha, snuck back up and cleared out the refrigerator; placing all the food on the floor with the door wide open, uggggh!  AND you didn't stop there.  Daddy finally awakened when he heard you, Buddha, yelling and screaming-banging on the door (just like Momma's sleep walking episode in Tennessee when I was just a tot myself).  Who knows how long you were outside, or what you were doing, or where you went!  Mommy freaked when I heard about it.

Just the other day when Mommy was in the other room folding laundry, your sister apparently talked you into going out to the kitty house with her, and Mommy would have never known had I not seen you two making a mad dash out the window!  Mommy had a stern scary talk with the two of you.  Mommy explained that someone could have took you without anyone knowing and hurt you, and Mommy explained that in Mommy's line of work, parents have their children removed for neglect (such as young kids playing outside with no supervision).  Bodhi, you started crying...you understood and apologized, promising to never do it again.  Buddha, well, what can I say????  You obviously didn't get the message.  We are going to have to figure out a way to attach a lock high enough so that you can't pull a chair up to it and open the door. Oh boy!

Hey Dennis, did I mention how many rolls of toilet paper you have wasted already this week?  How about five rolls.  Yep, that's right.  You fill the entire potty with a roll of toilet paper, go poo, then cover the poo with another roll of toilet paper.  It's quite unpleasant and disgusting digging out all that toilet paper, so how about you quit it!  Lord I hope you get easier with age!!!!

Tuesday All Mixed Up

Today is supposed to be a Grandmoo day, however GiGi needed to switch Grandmoo so that she could get a shot in her knee Thursday.  Mommy had a very long work day lined up, so you guys went to GiGi's and Gi-Pa's at noon.  You two reportedly went down for a nap.  Jude, you went potty before laying down, so GiGi decided not to put you in a pull-up...big mistake ha/ha!  GiGi reports that you came out and said, "GiGi I went potty just a wittle bit in the bed."  Well, you soaked clear through down to the mattress pad :/  Yikes!

Bodhi, you too took a nap without a pull-up and Mommy is excited to report, you didn't have an accident :)  GiGi and Gi-Pa promised you guys a trip to the park when you two awakened, however it was raining so you guys weren't able to go :(  Bodhi, Daddy had you and your brother tucked in by the time I arrived home at 9:45 p.m.  I went in to give you a kiss and tell you I love you, and you whispered, "Mommy I had so much fun at GiGi's and Gi-Pa's!"  You were so cute, rambling on and on about everything you and your brother did :)

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

Here We Go Again!

Momma has been working on you since last Monday, Jude Liam Grills Holsapple!  Last Monday you refused to participate in gymnastics, you go into baby mode; baby talking, clinging to Mommy's leg, and saying, "NO!"  So, everyday Mommy has been preparing you for today.  We talked about being a "BIG BOY,"  earning a treat for listening, and trusting Ms. Chanti your instructor....well, it totally figures, Ms. Chanti was not there today.  Aunt Dianna and her clan wasn't there either :(

You, Bodhi, and Mommy ended up sitting on the sidelines :(  Bodhi, you cried because you wanted to participate and couldn't, and Buddha, you fussed because you wanted to go home, ugggh!  Daddy always asks, "why are we spending money for him to do something he's not doing?"  Well, Daddy, because Jude man needs to socialize, and more importantly, try new things without his Momma and Sista :)-  I have faith you'll eventually get there Jude man.  I think if they let you play on the bars, you'd hang there the entire class! You love hanging and flipping!  You are so incredibly strong!  Anyway, no sticker today :(  Tough lesson I know, but you should have participated.

This evening, Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron came and picked the two of you up to give Mommy some time to write parenting assessments for work.  Well, you two went to the park, had a picnic, stopped by Menards, and then returned about two hours later.  Mommy managed to finalize one, but didn't get started on the 2nd like I had hoped.  However, every little bit helps, plus you two got some quality Brother Aaron and Sister Kelly time :)  Thank you Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron!

After baths it was nighty night time.  Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes.

Happy Birthday Grandmoo and Gi-Pa- And Our New Family Members Arrive

So today was a much anticipated day of celebration.  Today was the day we all decided we would have a little get-together for Grandmoo and Gi-Pa's June birthdays.  Mommy frantically cleaned and completed tasks throughout the morning, all while chasing you two around.  Daddy isn't feeling well so he was out of commission most of the afternoon.  Once everyone was up, we all got ready and headed to Highland park.

We were responsible for bringing utensils and drinks, while GiGi brought cake, and Grandmoo picked up pizza.  We ate, Grandmoo and Gi-Pa opened their birthday gifts, and then we played.  We had a great time and Gi-Pa and Grandmoo loved their gifts, but loved being with the two of you :)  Once it started sprinkling, we all headed back to our house for coffee and tea.  The rain had stopped, so we all sat outside drinking our drinks and watching the two of you play.  It was a great evening!

We topped our evening off by picking up Sundae and Garfield from Amy, who lives behind Grandmoo.  We took our precious little Garfield and Sundae home to their new home.  Dora arrived home just in time.  Mommy got Dora situated and then we took Sundae and Garfield inside.  Dora was not pleases, as I had hoped.  She hissed and went to her cat tent to hide out ha/ha.  The babies were oddly comfortable and sniffed around.  All three of us spent about an hour in the cat house with them before you, Buddha went inside to go to sleep with Daddy. Mommy and Bodhi went back outside and spent another hour with all our furry family members.  After you, Bodhi, went to sleep, Mommy went back out to check on everyone :)  Garfield and Sundae climbed all the way to the top of the new cat climbing condo and cuddled each other inside their kitty tent.  They were so precious.  Dora continued to sleep in her cat tent, not thrilled about her new family members :(

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

We bought Grandmoo gardening tools, she was being silly with one of them (she didn't know what it was for ha/ha)

Gi-Pa opening his gifts :)

Ha/ha, Bodhi, you definitely have your Grandmoo's and Mommy's ornery side :)

Daddy decided to have some good ol' boy time...usually Mommy is the one that rough houses  and shares boy time ha/ha

You are so strong!

Welcome Sundae :)  Wittle Baby girl :)

Welcome baby boy, Garfield.  Both you and your sister mirror Bodhi and Buddha's personalities.

One happy Baby girl!!!!

Little beauties!

One pissed off Dora Kitty :(
