Haunted Forest

This morning came oh so too early, ha!  Even despite everyone sleeping in, well, except Daddy but he got an early head start on his sleep last night.  You two insisted that Mommy "Get Up," at 9:30 a.m.  This is a really late start to our day compared to most days, but Mommy stayed up until 3:45 a.m. working on my craft room project.  Thankfully, you two wanted to stay up late last night (11:30 p.m.) so that bought Mommy a few extra hours this morning, thank goodness.  When Daddy arrived home from his Saturday morning work, Mommy got in the shower and headed to my afternoon appointment. Buddha, Daddy had you in the kitchen with him when Mommy was leaving, and you said, "Mommy, don't leave me."  You have been saying this a lot lately...Mommy never leaves you, you little sucker!  I'm certain you would be glued to my hip 24/7 if I let you.  Mommy gives you 16 hours most days, sometimes more, and that's about all you're going to get :)-  Bodhi, you had a fuss butt moment with Daddy, so you came and told Mommy, "Mommy I cry for you, I want you Momma! Daddy hurt my heart."  You are such a little drama queen, and you know how to work it hee/hee  Anyway, when Mommy arrived home from my appointment, an hour later, you two were in your beds taking an afternoon nap...this was a first, Daddy always messes up nap time on the weekends!

Mommy had every intention of coming home and getting some housework done, but with everyone sleeping, including the hounds, Mommy couldn't resist curling up in bed with Daddy and taking a nap myself.  You two awakened shortly after Daddy got up, but Mommy kept sleeping...I didn't want to move.  Of course, you two about a half hour after being up with Daddy, came and got Mommy "UP!"  You guys were ready for dinner and a trip to the "Haunted Forest" as Daddy named it.  Mommy warmed up some leftovers, and Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron dropped by about this time.  They brought special treats for you both... a Hello Kitty (blue) sucker... made in China ha/ha for you, Bodhi.  It turned your whole face blue and we laughed that it probably had led in it and you'd be short the rest of your life :0  Buddha, you got an Amish sucker.  You both loved your suckers suckers! After Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron left, we couldn't talk them into going with us :(  Mommy got you both dressed and we headed to the park for a haunted trail walk.

Now Buddha, you are the biggest chicken ever, so this could have been really bad, but you survived and actually enjoyed it.  Mommy did manage to scare you once though...,you were on my shoulders and there was this vampire hanging in a tree, so Mommy walked over to it and said, "Jude, don't let him get you," as I backed you into his arms.   It started making scary noises and you freaked for a minute.  Mommy was laughing hysterically, I get that from Great Papaw Grills who use to love scaring me as a child, but Daddy comforted you by telling you it was ok hee/hee Bodhi, you were on your Daddy's shoulders and loving every minute of the walk.  Nothing scared you Bodhi, you laughed through most of it.  Mommy ended up screaming once ha/ha all the ghosts, witches, and scary people hiding, were all very considerate and they didn't jump out at you two, but when Mommy walked by one (you still on my shoulders Jude) Mommy didn't realize I was face to face with one, since they didn't move or say anything... as to not scare the two of you ha/ha Mommy jumped and screamed, the guy waived trying to not upset you Jude hee/hee  I think it was freakier for Momma that no one jumped out at us or yelled ha/ha Anyway, you two loved your adventure, and afterwards we got slushies as a special treat.

Once home, Mommy took care of the critters and started a movie, "The Night Before Christmas," (I think that's the name of it ha/ha).  It's a Halloween movie, and Sister Kelly's favorite, she brought it over for you two.  Buddha, you of course didn't care to watch it, you played and tormented your sister instead.  Daddy fell asleep, and Mommy tucked you both in afterwards.  I was going to continue working on my craft room, but these blogs and FB'ing ate up a ton of time, so I'm calling it a night as well.  We have an early morning date with an apple orchard, GiGi, Gi-Pa, and Grandmoo :)  Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

You two walking with Daddy :)

Look at that sky, perfect night for a haunted walk :0

Frightful Friday Festivities

It was back to fall weather today.  You two needed some fun Halloween craft activities for a change, so Mommy came up with some.  First thing this morning, Mommy grabbed our giant container of plastic beads, looked up on Pinterest how to melt the beads into window decorations, and then searched Mommy's "baking drawer" ha/ha  Mommy found three cookie cutter shapes (amazingly)...an apple, a rabbit, and a star.  You two filled your cookie cutters (laid on top  of parchment paper on a baking sheet) and then Mommy put them in the oven to bake.  They turned out really cute.  Mommy is going to buy more parchment paper and additional shapes, we ran out :(  So, we'll do this craft project again another day.

You two then ate lunch and went down for a late afternoon nap.  When you two awakened, Mommy sent Daddy to pick up some pumpkins.  We then painted Halloween pumpkins on our dining room table.  You two finger painted, and Mommy painted a "Hello Kitty" pumpkin for you Bodhi, and one with polka dots or "balls" for you Buddha.  You two had a blast, and had Mommy not been supervising, our entire dining room would have been covered in finger paint designs :)

Daddy, tired and cranky as hell, decided we all needed to watch a scary Halloween movie.  Buddha, you could care less about a movie, you're like your Momma... you rather be multi-tasking between doing something and watching a movie ha/ha  This drives your Daddy crazy!  The first half of the movie was spent with Daddy saying, "Jude sit down, Jude sit down, Jude sit down," until Daddy finally fell asleep (thank goodness).  After the movie, Mommy felt horrible that you didn't get to play Buddha, so Mommy took you and your sister upstairs to take a bath.  You both love bath time and were more than excited to hear you were going to get some playtime in the tub.  After baths, you two were being so sweet with one another, and you both begged Mommy to stay up and play. Mommy couldn't say no, so you two played nicely in both of your rooms while Mommy worked on my craft room, next door to you two :)  You guys ended up staying up until 11:30 p.m. HA!  Buddha, you were past tired, and yet you still insisted on fighting Momma about going to bed.  You fell asleep within minutes of Mommy rocking you :)  Bodhi, you were happy to go to bed by this time.  Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

Project One :)

We had our normal dance session while waiting for our treasures to bake and our lunch to get finished :)

A Beautiful Thursday

Today was another beautiful day!  It was so gorgeous, super warm, and sun shinning :)  We played outside for a while and then came back inside for an afternoon nap.  Mommy had to go to work this evening, so the two of you went to GiGi's and Grandmoo's.  Jude, you awakened from your nap and immediately said, "Good Morning Momma, go to Grandmoo's now?" Ha/Ha you are so darn precious.  Bodhi, you were your usual cranky self, since Momma had to wake you from your nap before you were ready, oh boy!  Getting you dressed was yet another major fuss butt task. I don't know what your issue is with clothes girlfriend!

Momma dropped you, Jude, off first. It was your turn to be with Grandmoo, and Bodhi, it was your turn to go to GiGi's and Gi-Pa's.  You both had your own special adventures :)  Bodhi, you made popcorn balls (and GiGi didn't take any pictures, WHAT?)!  Mommy use to love to making popcorn balls with GiGi, and when Daddy picked you up and brought home a huge sack of goodies.   Mommy went to town on the popcorn balls ha/ha  Mommy finally made it home from work, there was another major 911 incident at work, and then on my way home from work I encountered a horrible accident and traffic was being blocked so I had to country roads to get home, you two were cuddled up with Daddy waiting for Momma to come home and tuck you both in for the night.

Sweet Dreams my sweet sweet babes!

Yum!

Indian Summer

Today was a Daddy Wednesday and seemed very much a late fall Indian Summer, as the temperature surely reached 80 degrees. We began our morning with toast and jelly and chocolate milk, and coffee for Mommy and Daddy. After breakfast Mommy supplied Daddy with selected outfits for the day and Daddy got the two of you dressed for a backyard adventureJ.

We took advantage of the incredible good weather and Daddy raked leaves as the two of you alternately would swing on the swing-set or frolic in the leaf pile Daddy constructed in the backyard. We invited Allie and Arlo to join us and to share the beautiful day, but that proved a bit of a mistake as we agreed to “capture” Pippen for our neighbors and secure him in their garage, but when Daddy attempted to get him Allie charged on us and away skirted PippenJ. Mommy came out to say her goodbyes as she made off for her volunteer work at the Animal Shelter, and you pleaded with her to stay Bodhi. Mommy assured us a fun day together and promised she would she us later, so we diverted our attention back to leaves and swingingJ. However, you did try to talk your Momma into allowing you to volunteer with her, but you are still too young L

At noon, Daddy brought our entire group back inside and made everyone lunch, corn dogs and green beans for Buddha and Bodhi and vegetable soup for Daddy, and dog food and some green beans for Allie and ArloJ. Both of you asked Daddy for chocolate milk, again, and Daddy gave in, though he is having some second thoughts about it, as your little butt has been especially sore for several days Jude LiamL. After lunch, we went upstairs to settle in for our nap, and we briefly watched some news program together in Mommy and Daddy’s bed---you have a tolerance for watching news Buddha that your sister only slightly shares. So, it wasn’t long before you were off to your own bed and an afternoon cartoon, Princess Bodhi, while Prince Buddha and Daddy continued to watch the news.

After about an hour, you refused to settle in for a nap, son, and you repeatedly told Daddy no so Daddy explained to you such behavior forfeited your chance to take a nap in Mommy’s bed and off to your crib you went---in all reality, Daddy should just put you down for your nap without discussion and maintain the consistency of the routine---Daddy is more of a pushover than Mommy.

Bodhi, you barely napped at all, and by the time Mommy got home and all of us were ready to return outdoors, you elected to stay in your bed—as you were both tired and ultimately, later quite fussy. Mommy and Daddy and young Prince Buddha greatly enjoyed a beautiful late afternoon and early evening of play and work together in our yard and garage---Buddha you were precious and adorable as you played so happily in the backyard, and Mommy completely cleared our entire yard of tons of leaves as Daddy made great progress in cleaning and organizing the garage. Daddy is intent on the garage accommodating Mommy’s car for the winter, and we are certainly inching our way to that goalJ.

As night fell, we all gathered for family time and chips and cheese and salsa and cheese dip and lunchmeat for a makeshift dinner, and though initially you were one emotionally tightly spun young lady, you eventually settled in so that we could enjoy our time together before bedtime. A beautiful day, a beautiful ending to a beautiful day, and two incredibly beautiful and uniquely special little angels off to dream land. Love, love, love!!!

Ha! Bodhi, after the boys were asleep, you joined Mommy for several hours, watching as I worked on my craft room.  You “ahhhh’d” over Mommy’s selections and assisted Mommy…even when Mommy didn’t need assistance hee/hee  You are so precious!

Rainy Fall Tuesday

Mommy fell asleep after lasts night Presidential debate, so Mommy actually got a good night's rest.  If that wasn't sweet enough, you, Mr. Buddha, decided to sleep in this morning YAY!  Bodhi, you got up early with Daddy this morning.  Daddy had you bundled in a blanket with breakfast downstairs when he had to leave for work.  You entertain yourself downstairs the mornings you get up early with Daddy, but Daddy didn't bother waking Momma up, so you were truly on your own this morning hee/hee You woke Momma up at about 9:00 a.m., and so we waited for Buddha to wake up.  It was raining and such an awesome morning to sleep in :)  Mommy was truly in heaven.  Once Buddha awakened, Mommy got the play-doh out and laid out about 12 different colors, with all of the baking play-doh accessories on our dining room table.  You two were in heaven and super excited.  You both played with play-doh for about two hours straight, and actually making minimal messes.  Mommy made homemade vegetable soup and cleaned the kitchen while you two played.  Mommy discovered a leak under our sink, so I called and got that taken care of in a matter of 30 minutes.  Gardners' had fixed it this time last year, so they rushed over and got it taken care of in  literally minutes.

Once you two decided you were done playing with play-doh, Mommy cleaned it up and continued to clean the rest of the house.  It was still raining and we had all of our windows and doors open...it's was so lovely!  You two ran around the house, stopping to play with your toys in one room and then another, but allowing Mommy to clean and (thankfully) not making any major messes.  Mommy was hopeful it would stop raining and dry up a little so we could go outside and play, but it didn't, so we continued cleaning and playing indoors.  1:00 p.m. rolled around and then 2:00 p.m., but neither of you acted tired, and Mommy figured why put you down for a nap when everyone seems happy.  Mommy announced, "no naps today," and you both cheered ha/ha  it was pretty cute.  Jude, you didn't get fussy at all, Bodhi, when 5pm rolled around, you were a mess!  Mommy had a heck of a time getting you to stop crying long enough to eat your vegetable soup.  Daddy arrived home at about this time, and was able to calm you down, Bodhi.  Bodhi, you made Daddy stand beside your high chair and hold your hand while you ate ha/ha  Daddy managed to get some soup himself, and had to leave to go to his other job.  You threw a fit Bodhi!  Uggggh!  Mommy was finally able to get you to eat, with the promise of a bath with bath paints.  You both were super excited, we always forget to get the bath paints out, but not tonight.  You two played and played.  Mommy allowed you two to play for a while after baths, but then made you two go to bed early since you didn't nap.  Buddha, you then threw a fit!  You kept saying, "Momma's room, lay in Momma's room."  You screamed yourself to sleep.  Mommy tried three times to rock you to sleep like we usually do, but after the third time, Mommy warned you.  You screamed and cried for like 15 minutes :(  You absolutely broke Momma's heart!  Bodhi, you couldn't get to sleep, ugggh.  You decided to get back up several times, but you are now back in bed.

Mommy asked you both throughout the day, "Bodhi, Jude, do you like your life, do you love our home, do you love your family?"  You both responded all day long... "Yes, Momma, we like our life, we love our home, we love our family."  It was so stinkin' cute!  Other than bedtime, we had a great day.  Mommy didn't mention, but you both required several cuddle sessions throughout the day since you didn't get your usual nap in :)  You both would say, "Momma, hug!"  "Momma hold me..."  Mommy loves your hugs!  Sweet dreams my sweet babes!

PLAY-DOH!!!

Clothes-less ALL day!

You decided since you didn't take a nap, you were going to wear your glasses during dinner ha/ha

You wore them the whole time!

Dress-up after baths :)

"Look at my shoes Momma!"

Picnic and Pumpkins At The Park

This morning was go go go.  Mommy got up, got cleaned up, got you two dressed, packed, fed, and out the door by 10:30 a.m.  Mommy has a long work day ahead in Lafayette, 12pm-8pm supervising a visit, plus transportation of the children both ways, as well as my two hour drive, which makes for a super long day!  Mommy dropped you, Bodhi, off at Grandmoo's first.  You were cranky...anytime you have to wear clothes, you fuss and fight like a little stinker butt.  You are so weird about the way things feel, noise, etc... I sure hope this is a stage.  Your behavior reminds Mommy of Autistic children I've encountered in my work!  Jude man, you were happy as sunshine and ready to go to GiGi's.  You helped Mommy get you packed, and didn't fuss the slightest.  You even tried to cheer Bodhi girl up, but all she would say back to you was "No!"

Both of you were happy when Mommy dropped you off though :)  Grandmoo told you, Jude, that she would be seeing you after a while.  Bodhi, you and Grandmoo had plans to pick up some lunch items from the grocery store, then you two were going to meet up with GiGi and Jude at the park for a picnic and pumpkin carving, YAY!  You two were super excited, and this made Mommy relieved and happy!  I hate leaving unhappy babes behind.

When Daddy got off work, he ran to the grocery to pick up some items for Mommy.  Mommy is making vegetable soup tomorrow, YUM!  Daddy then went and picked you both up.  Daddy reports that all parties looked exhausted ha/ha  but all reported to have had a great day!  Daddy brought you guys home, and you all awaited Mommy's late night return.  Mommy arrived home, put the kitties away for the night (with their nightly plate of tuna), and then tucked you two in bed.

Mommy and Daddy then watched the last Presidential Debate.  Mommy crashed right after.  Sweet dreams my sweet babes! :)

Lunch time at the park :)

Play time with Grandmoo!

Oh boy!  Pumpkin guts! :)
