Never A Dull Moment

I desperately need to do some catching up, and not the usual "what we did today,"catching up either.   Bodhi and Jude, you both say the darnedest things, and make some of the funniest observations, you both are so very entertaining!  

So here we go....

Bodhi, while driving to the store Mommy stopped at the traffic light as it turned yellow.  You are usually not the "big mouth," but you shouted, "Ummmm Momma, what do you think you are doing?" (real serious-like by the way).   To which I responded, quite startled, "What Bodhi?"  "Mommy, yellow means hurry up and go, not stop!" Ha/Ha!  Mommy taught you that, and boy did you let Mommy have it for breaking Mommy's traffic light rule :)

While Mommy was painting a red flower on Daddy's office ceiling, Bodhi, you and your brother were messing around with Daddy's speaker on the floor.  You two love to turn it off because it comes back on automatically by itself (it's magic).  You two were entertaining yourselves by turning it off when you, Bodhi got a little ornery with your brother.  You said,  "Buddha, I said turn it off, it's on."  Buddha, you didn't pick up on the fact that your sister was teasing you, but to Bodhi's amazement, you picked a book off of Daddy's bookshelf and started flipping through it real frantically ha/ha  Bodhi, you said, "Mommy, Mommy look... Buddha learned to read!!!"  "Buddha is reading the book to try and figure out how to turn the speaker off."  Mommy laughed and laughed and laughed.  

This morning when Mommy got out of the shower, you two running in and out of the bathroom.  Mommy hurriedly put on my undies.  Bodhi, you came running in and said, "Oh Momma!"  You grabbed the front of my underwear and started adjusting them.  Bodhi, you then explained, "Mommy your GYNA  was hanging out."  Bahahahaha!  Mommy has a gyna and not a vagina!  

Last night, you refused to sleep Ms. Emilia Bodhi.  You got up literally 20 times, requesting one thing or another...mainly cheese, yogurt, chocolate, milk, and juice :)  After giving you two slices of cheese and a cup of yogurt, you again got back up.  You came into Mommy's craft room and said, "Mommy, I need another snack, and if you say no Ima gonna eat your toes."  Hee/hee Wow, that is so something Mommy would say to you. :)  Another time you got up and I tucked you back into bed, telling you "sweet dreams, close those beautiful eyes,"  and you responded, "Mommy, without cheese I'll have dumb dreams."  Boy, you were on a roll! 

Jude, despite having recently discovered your "pecker" as Daddy calls it, you still insist that everyone call you Cinderella and you continue to dress in your sister's dresses (ALL DAY LONG). While I was folding laundry this morning you saw Mommy's underwear (Mommy recently bought new underwear and bras and everyone...Daddy and the two of you, have been absolutely fascinated with Mommy's new undergarments) anyway, you spotted Mommy's underwear and said, "Ooooh Mommy's underwear, I'm going to put them on Mommy."  Mommy drew the line, "NO!"  "Jude, I refuse to allow you to wear my underwear, that is going too far, you little transvestite."  Well, you two cracked up, loving the new name...and so the rest of the morning  Mr. Jude, your sister referred to you as transvestite.  HA!

Buddha, you are our little comedian.  You do anything you can to make us laugh, well, then we laugh and you scold us hee/hee.  Bodhi, whenever brother does something silly, you roll your eyes, sigh, and look at Mommy and say, "Oh Bubbby," or "Oh Buddha, you are such a little nerd bird" or "turd bucket," thanks Sister Kelly ha/ha!  

Bodhi, when you and your brother are playing and brother does something you don't approve of, you tell him, "Buddha, I'm going to spank your ass," and then you come running for Mommy and say, "Mommy Buddha needs his butt spanked."  As if I can't hear you yelling at him in just the next room hee/hee

Mommy knows I'm forgetting a ton of other funny stories, so I'll try to do a weekly update of all the things I forget to add to your blog from day to day :)  

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!  You two are an absolute hoot!

PS I'll have to load pictures later, I can't find my camera cord, and I have a sneaking suspicion that you, Mr. Jude did something with it :)

GiGi’s Birthday Breakfast

Today was an especially exciting day, we looked forward to celebrating GiGi’s birthday with a family breakfast!

Daddy got the two of you decked out in your Sunday go to breakfastJ outfits while Mommy got dressed. Mommy then took both of you with her to the ATM machine to get our money for our contribution to the breakfast. Daddy finished getting himself ready, and Mommy and the two of you came back by the house to pick up Daddy. Mommy pulled into the drive and the car started rolling backwards, and you, Jude, screamed not to leave DaddyJ.

All of us then went by Grandma’s to pick her up, and when she tried to situate herself in the back seat between the two of you, you commented Bodhi that she was “too big and too heavyJ.” Grandma managed to squeeze into the back seat and off we went to meet GiGi and GiPa at the IHOP (a favorite breakfast house of both Mommy and Daddy, though as a family we seldom eat out for breakfast).

As we exited the car, both of you immediately recognized GiGi and GiPa gazing out of a restaurant window from our reserved table, and we hurried in whereupon each of you insisted on sitting on either side of GiGi for the breakfast celebration. Poor GiGi, sitting next to either of while while eating is a special treat, let alone both of youJ. GiGI spent as much time assisting and cleaning each of you as she did enjoying her celebration breakfastJ. Nothing stopped the rest of us from enjoying our breakfast of pancakes and crepes and eggs and hash browns and other goodies like chocolate milk and hot chocolate and hot coffee (not for babies)!

We love to spend family time together, and GiGi (and GiPa and Grandma) adores the two of you beyond words. It was a wonderful breakfast, compliments mostly of Grandma (we paid the tip and GiPa brought along a 20 percent coupon). The two of you had spent a great deal of time with Mommy the night before making GiGi a special greeting card, and she absolutely loved her special presents and the time we had together over breakfast. As we all prepared to leave, GiGi and GiPa explained they were going to go to the movie this afternoon and see the film Lincoln (on Mommy and Daddy’s recommendation!). GiGi would enjoy a fun birthday celebration, though her actual birthday isn’t until the 9^th.

After our breakfast celebration, we intended to drive Grandma home and then return home for our day, but of course the two of you insisted that you stay with Grandma and she of course agreed to the dealJ. So the two of you enjoyed an afternoon, impromptu, with Grandma and Mommy went on to go assist her friend Dianna strip wallpaper and Daddy returned home to work.

After coming home from Grandma’s and enjoying our afternoon naps, we spent time together (especially Mommy and the two of you---as Daddy continued to work) throughout the evening, enjoying a delicious dinner prepared by Mommy, then a television viewing of Shrek 2 and Rio and then off to “night, night.”  For GiGi and two beautiful little angels it was a very special, beautiful, fun-filled day!

Projects and Crafts

Daddy had to go to work for a couple of hours this morning, so Mommy perked up and made you both a good home cooked breakfast...sausage patties and cinnamon rolls (thanks Aunt Dianna for the rolls)!  You two gobbled breakfast up, and then we danced off those calories right there in the kitchen.  Of course you two always end up fighting about who's turn it is to dance with Momma, and that's when the dancing ended.   

Buddha, you went and fetched the play dough... you discovered Mommy's hiding place, so now you just get it out and THEN ask Momma.  After playing with play dough, Mommy caught up with Aunt Ti, you both were frustrated because you didn't want to share Mommy with Aunt Ti ha/ha.  Mommy made you two lunch and then I got in the shower.  Buddha, you were tired, so you went down for a nap.  Bodhi, you sat in the bathroom watching Mommy get cleaned up.  You asked Mommy to revive your boings with Mommy's curling iron...which turned into a Mommy/Bodhi hair party.  Mommy ended up straightening your hair with the curling iron.  Mommy was shocked at how much older you look with straight hair, but it was totally not you.  Mommy sure hopes you always love your beautiful curls, because they are so fitting for you!  

After Buddha awakened, we begun our craft projects for GiGi's birthday.  You two colored a card with markers, and then made a sequence art picture.  We had a major mess "sprinkles" every where! While Mommy was helping you, Bodhi, Buddha, you decided to take a marker and hide behind the dining room door...yep, coloring all over the wall.  You knew Mommy was furious, you grabbed your butt and said, "no Mommy," and then ran into the front room to retrieve some baby wipes.  You returned and helped Mommy clean the marker off the wall ha/ha  You knew you were in trouble, we had just talked about what we should and and should not color on, which included NOT coloring on the walls!  

After our GiGi projects, you both helped Mommy tie little ribbons on a topiary in the dining room. Mommy thought it needed some extra whimsy  aside from the lights.  You two ended up throwing all of Mommy's ribbon all over the dining room and using the ribbon as wigs ha/ha  After playing/decorating Mommy did a quick vacuum downstairs...sequence and snips of ribbon were every where.  You two then marched your little bums to bed in anticipation for GiGi's birthday breakfast in the morning.  Mommy sent Aunt Dianna a text and awaited her response..she had to get her kiddos to bed so we could scrape wallpaper off her dining room walls again.  I don't quite understand it, but anytime Mommy has plans to leave to go down the street to Aunt Dianna's, you two always wake up and sucker Daddy into having a slumber party with you both...such suckers!  Nighty night sweet angels.  Mommy will be back home before you know it.

Kitties and Pups for Momma's Kitty and Pup

Home again, home again. We all thoroughly enjoyed our outing last night, but this morning, it was back to our routine.  Daddy working, and you two babes at home with Momma.  Mommy had hoped to get to volunteer but it just couldn't get worked out.  You two are still coughing and aren't 100% and Mommy's still lacking energy.

We played, read, danced, and enjoyed our normal routine together.  When you two went down for a nap, Mommy took down 90% of all the Christmas lights and decorations outside the house, as well scoop poop and cleaned out the kitty house.  Mommy figured I better take extra good care  of our furry babes since I couldn't help the homeless ones today.

After naps, you two awakened and Mommy started a meatloaf. Bodhi, you were wanting to get out of the house, and Buddha, you were wanting to snuggle up with Daddy :)  So Bodhi, Mommy threw your boots on over your Hello Kitty jammies (you and your brother chose to be naked most of the day and jammies the remainder ha/ha).  Mommy took you to Meijers to pick up ketchup needed for our meatloaf, and you begged Mommy for not one but two stuffed kitties, and you even found to baby pups for brother.  Mommy figured you could use some of Christmas money Great Papaw sent you and your brother, so you walked out of Meijers a very happy girl.

We all enjoyed dinner together, Buddha enjoyed the meatloaf more than you, and after dinner you two settled in for the night.  Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!

Date Night

Today (and night) was special, special, special for Mommy and Daddy—“Date Night!” It was also special for each of you as well, as you spent the evening with GiGi and GiPa!

The day began quite early (around 4:30 a.m.) for Daddy, who fell asleep exhausted last night and then awakened so early. By 7:00 a.m., you joined Daddy Ms. Bodhi and requested “just one popcycle.” Daddy opted for a glass of chocolate milk and a banana for you instead. By 8:00 a.m. you joined Bodhi and Daddy, Buddha, requesting some apple juice.

Mommy then joined the three of us, and shortly thereafter Daddy was off to work to do some volunteer academic advising. Mommy played with the two of you throughout the day, and got everything prepared for your evening at GiGi’s.

Daddy got home from work at 4:00 p.m., and Mommy drove the two of you over to GiGi’s and then returned to pick Daddy up for our date. Brother Sean Franky gave Mommy and Daddy Christmas gifts of a gift card to Olive Garden restaurant and a gift card to the movie theatre. GiGi and GiPa, Daddy later discovered, gave Mommy an additional gift card to contribute to our dinner-dateJ. Both of you were excited, to understate the matter, to spend time with GiGi and GiPa, so Mommy and Daddy were at ease in having our time out.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Olive Garden, then went to the 6:30 p.m. showing of “Lincoln.” Both Mommy and Daddy were excited about the prospect of seeing the film, and both Mommy and Daddy left the theatre agreeing and discussing the film (and the acting—especially by Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln—the direction, the screen play, the whole film project!) as the best motion picture either had ever seen. The story of President Lincoln’s management of the Civil War, preparation for peace, the passage of the 13^th Amendment abolishing slavery, the story and the presentation of the story was spell-binding! The suffering of President Lincoln, and symbolically of our nation, was made more comprehensible by this incredible film. Everyone should see this film. Every one!

Someday each of you will mature to an understanding of your times and of the history of our nation, and you will be humbled by the demands of character placed upon each of you as you make your contribution to this world, and leave your footprint on eternity. Each of you is a special child, and Mommy and Daddy understand a certainty concerning the destiny each of you will play out in your lifetimes.

“Date Night” is important to Mommy and Daddy, and it is important to each of you as well. Together or temporarily apart—we grow as a family. And the love that exists for us is a power that binds together history and the promise of tomorrow.

Still Cold, Still Colds Wednesday

Today continued to be extremely cold, and the two of you (and Mommy) continue to struggle with your colds. Both of you are fighting a cough, and you are the worse of the pair, Buddha, as you continue to have bad sniffles, along with MommyL.

Mommy entertained the two of you with playing games, and rolling out the play dough, which is reserved for special occasions. Mommy and Daddy are wanting to comfort each of you so this was declared a special occasion! Still both of you wanted so much to be able to go outdoors, just no can do until these colds and this cold weather subside.

Mommy was also busy herself, and also not feeling all that well, by organizing and paying monthly bills and finalizing the most thorough house cleanings Daddy has ever witnessed (and Daddy’s Mommy-Grandma Betty, and his sisters-Aunt Debbie, Aunt Terrie, and Aunt Diane-all maintain clean, clean, clean homes!) but Mommy wins the contest, no contest!

By evening time, Mommy decided the two of you would enjoy a nice bath and warm pajamas to get you settled in for the night—and as always, you both loved your bath time!

Mommy got the two of you settled in for the night, and Daddy literally was so exhausted he fell asleep, a deep sleep, until early next morning. Daddy has lately been so exhausted, with no real reason for being so tired other than routine start of a new semester anxiety.

So, Daddy wished each of you a loving “night, night,” and then himself fell right into “night, night” leaving Mommy to stay up late and do finishing touches on all the day’s activities and work completed. Someday, the two of you will fully appreciate the energy and total commitment to all us made each and every day by Mommy! And Daddy, too, by the way!

The Start Of A New Year

Well, Mommy and Daddy made it to see first few minutes of the new year together.  Sick, tired, and cranky, Mommy and Daddy watched the NYC ball drop on television and shared a midnight kiss...one of the very few handful of New Year's memories we share together :)  After some snuggle time, we joined the two of you in Dreamville.  Which, Jude man, a few days ago I couldn't remember anything that occurred ha/ha well, it came to me...the night before you and I were up talking to one another all night long and I had completely forgotten :)-  Mommy recalls having a dream about taking care of the kitties and fuzzy butts, only to awaken for a brief moment to hear you say (you had sneaked into bed with Mommy as per our new nightly routine) "Mommy, feed Allie, don't forget Allie."  Mommy was so weirded out that A) You were talking in your sleep B) you were in my dream AND C) you were talking about what Mommy was doing in my dream!  Daddy usually escapes to the couch early early morning, after you, Jude man take over the bed.  However, all the talking we do, I'm sure it's not easy to sleep with the both of us in the same room ha/ha.  

I also need to note... you sleep walk at midnight every night!  You are so cute and funny to watch, even if you are crying.  You can hardly walk and you are not at all orientated with where you are, you just sort of stumble your way into Mommy's and Daddy's room and fall into bed.  You usually fall a few times and just lay on the floor before making it to the bed.  Mommy helps you most nights, but a couple times while sick, I wasn't totally aware that you had awakened, YIKES!  

Anyway, we all awakened January 1st, 2013, still sick :(  However, Mommy couldn't take the dog hair, dander, and dust any longer.  Mommy got up and got busy cleaning.  I cleaned all morning, afternoon and evening. Jude, you assisted Mommy all morning long.  You insisted on using the dry swifter mop to clean up the floors as Mommy was vacuuming them.  Mommy felt bad because all the dog hair had your little sick eyes seriously red and irritated, but you wouldn't quit.  Well, after Bodhi decided she needed her nap, you then started to lose steam too.  You finally pooped out and said, "Mommy, I'm tired, I need a nap."  You poor little thing!  Mommy dusted you off and tucked you into bed.  You only slept for about an hour.  You were a mess.  Mommy decided to give you a nice warm bath and that seemed to calm you down and relax you.  Bodhi, you took an extra long nap and opted out of a bath once you awakened.  Mommy continued cleaning and started a Pinterst recipe for dinner.  Daddy ran errands most of the day, he's learned it's best if he's out of the house while Mommy cleans ha/ha  He offered to take you Jude, but Mommy wouldn't let him take you, you wanted to stay with Mommy.

We all had a nice chicken and pasta dinner together and Mommy then continued to clean.  Mommy couldn't figure out why were all sneezing even after Mommy cleaned the house from top to bottom.  After further investigation, Mommy discovered our ceiling fans (which are always going) had huge furry creatures growing off of them, as did the tops of all our original woodwork around our windows and door frames.  It was NASTY!  So essentially, Mommy cleaned our upstairs TWICE.  I had to re-vacuum everything once I dusted the woodwork and fans.  The floors appeared to have a dead cat laying on them with the all junk that came off the fan alone, yuck!  

You two watched tv with Daddy and played legos.  Once Mommy finished cleaning, Mommy tucked you both in bed.  Mommy and Daddy then crashed on our couches to watch a movie.  Awwwww, it was so nice to sit down and relax!  Mommy does miss Mommy's and Daddy's movie nights!  

Sweet dreams my sweet sweet babes!  The start of the new year was anything but exciting, but we have a clean slate for sure :)
