No Food or Drink After Midnight and Loose Clothing

Baby Boy!!  Mommy fed you an extra bowl of baby cereal last night before you retired to bed, in an attempt to keep your belly full through the night. Mommy and Daddy were instructed not to let you drink or eat after midnight!   Well, you slept one hour longer than usual, but you were not happy when you did wake up, and you would NOT go back to sleep.  You woke at 4:30 a.m. rather than 3:00 a.m.  Mommy could NOT comfort you.  You wanted to be nursed!  Mommy had to wake Daddy and have him try to get you back to sleep because I was getting no where.  You were trying to nurse through Mommy's shirt and you would not stop screaming a horrible gut wrenching cry :(  6:00 a.m. rolled around way too soon, so Mommy and Daddy got you, and ourselves, ready to go to the hospital.  Mommy dressed you in "loose clothing" as instructed by the doctor and nurses.  Once at the hospital, Bodhi you stayed in bed and GiGi came and sat with you, we were all on edge.  Mommy had been strong up to this point.  I still tried desperately to keep it together for your sake, Jude, and I think I did quite well... if I do say so myself.  Daddy on the other hand, was no help.  He was beyond nervous and I was very surprised that he didn't have more of a game face considering he worked undercover for years!  Grandmoo came for your surgery too.  Mommy could tell she was worried, but she helped calm everyone's nerves and kept you busy playing and having a good time.  Buddha, at one point you actually preferred Grandmoo hold you over your Mommy and Daddy hee/hee  Grandmoo's your buddy!  Anyway, your surgery took all of ten minutes and you were out but very groggy.  You were a little fussy and wanting to be nursed ASAP!  You actually recovered very quickly though.  You were up and moving around, eating, and playing in a matter of a couple of hours.

Bodhi, you broke GiGi's heart.  She said you weren't yourself and you kept looking for Momma :(  She said you went down to the basement and was saying "Mommm, Mommma?"  GiGi couldn't get you to go outside either.  She said any little noise upset you. Bodhi, you hadn't seen Gi-Pa in a couple of weeks, and you acted scared of him :(  So, you ended up coming home at 11am rather than 12pm as planned.  Once home, Mommy fed everyone and you both went down for your nap.  You both took about a four hour nap!  After you both woke up, Mommy took you for a wagon ride.  We walked over to the Kokomo Beach area, sat and played under a tree.  You both had a blast, and Mommy was happy to get out of the house since I can't remember the last time we spent some good quality time outside together.  It's been way too hot lately!    After our walk, Mommy's friend from high school, Tyson Damitz, stopped by.  He was going door to door to promote himself for the upcoming election.  He's running for City Council.  He's one conservative Mommy will vote for, Tyson was always a good guy :)  Bodhi, you sat on the couch like a zombie while Mommy chatted with Tyson.  Jude, you were in the kitchen screaming, you were in the middle of eating dinner and had just flipped food on Mommy before I answered the door hee/hee  Yep, we never know who is going to show up :)-

THANKFULLY our day turned out very well!  Ju Ju, you are doing great, and you both had some quality Mommy time outside.  Oh what a relief today is over! Mommy and Daddy feel so blessed to have two healthy precious babes!  No more surgeries EVER!

Our day from start to finish... no captions/just precious faces

The Day Before…

I’ll be the first to admit, I have been very distressed over the pending surgery for Buddha. We have been assured it is a rather routine procedure, still I simply cannot wrap my mind around accepting that such a small child would need be subjected to any surgical procedure…it certainly gives one perspective regarding others (friends and strangers) who face more serious and complicated surgical/medical treatments for their children. So, today’s title for our blog is…the day before. You understand.
We have tried to maintain a normal day’s activities, starting with daddy’s famous gourmet breakfasts on Sundays. Jude enjoyed some hot fruit cereal with fresh blueberries, while Bodhi enjoyed some fresh blueberries “a la carte” (that’s gourmet chef talk, straight at ya from Chef Michael)J Then, we all enjoyed some gourmet scrambled eggs, made with cheese and onion and tomato, and daddy’s special invention---some fresh blueberries cooked right in with all the other secret ingredients (half and half, Worchester sauce, and…hey, wait a minute, this is top secret), and complemented with egg bagels. Yummmmmmmmmmmm…though Mommy was at first skeptical about the blueberries in the scrambled eggs, she immediately after tasting gave it a five-star rating!
Mommy was up very late last night, so Daddy got up early and watched the news with you, Buddha, for about a half hour before Bodhi got up, then we all stayed in her room and played until it was time to awaken Mommy with a cup of hot coffee and we all then enjoyed our breakfast together. After playing until about noon, you Buddha were ready for a nap, so you and Mommy went off to bed to get you settled, then Daddy and Bodhi ran to the grocery store to pick up a couple of things for GiGi and Poncho. A check-out “girl” at the grocery store couldn’t stop complimenting you, Bodhi, about how pretty you are and how beautiful your curly hair looked. Mommy would have elbowed daddy had she been with us, ‘cause I just grinned and agreed you are indeed a beautiful little girlJ We drove over to GiGi and Poncho to drop off the groceries, and GiGi almost started crying when she discovered you were frantically trying to undo your seatbelt to get to her; Poncho came out to see you too, Bodhi, and it was evident they both miss you so much, they haven’t seen you in a while ‘cause they have both been recuperating from not feeling well. Mommy was so “mad” at Daddy when she learned we didn’t stay there and visit for a while, but Daddy didn’t think they felt like having visitors, though I admit Mommy was probably right about them making an exception for you, Bodhi! Then, Bodhi, you and Daddy went to the Noble Roman’s pizza place and picked up a deep dish Sicilian pizza (daddy’s favoriteJ), because even though money is sort of tight Daddy had a special Sunday coupon so we splurgedJ
When we got home, Mommy was busy working so we all took a break together and had a pizza party while Jude napped (you snooze, you lose around here, Buddha, when it comes to meal timesJ). Then, it was off to your nap time, too, Bodhi. Daddy decided that you and Buddha must know what’s best when it comes to nap times, so he decided to take a nap too, while Mommy went back to doing her work.
After we all (J) awakened from our naps, Mommy took over looking after the two of you, while Daddy tried to get some of his work done (Mommy is better at multitasking, ‘cause she works on her projects while taking care of either or both of you at the same timeJ). Later Mommy gave each of you a bath, after dinner, and shortly thereafter it was off to dreamland for the two of you.  Mommy played and had you both laughing hysterically upstairs.  Daddy came up to join in and then both Mommy and Daddy tucked you both in for the night.
That dreamland has to be a very, very, very special place to have two such very, very, very precious babies so regularly spend time there. Daddy wants to go there, too, and he is going to try to coax Mommy into not staying up all night and going there with him. J We all need some rest, tomorrow is a big day!

Did someone say breakfast?

"Eggs and cereal with blueberries, YUMO!"

Buddha, you love to dive into your inflated car!

"Look Momma, I'm driving!"

Look at that teefer... you have two others peeking through as well!

Little Buddha climbing on everything

"I really hate the Mommarazzi in the morning!"

"All that is keeping from Grandmoo are these steps!"

"Did someone say Grandmoo?"

"One more set of steps and I'm home free!"

Buddha showing off his walking skills at Grandmoo's!

"Peek-a-boo Buddha" ;)

Ju Ju, you were cracking yourself up... playing peek-a-boo with yourself in the mirror!
