The Saturday Before Mother’s Day Sunday

Today was the Saturday before Mother’s Day SundayJ. The day started like a usual Saturday with Daddy and Bodhi up early, then Daddy off to work for a few hours. When Daddy got home, it was time for an adventure so Mommy helped load up Bodhi and Buddha in the carriage and off to the Farmer’s Market we went while Mommy had some Mommy time. We purchased a chocolate chip and sugar cookie (that’s two cookies if you’re keeping countJ), some lemon balm ice tea with honey (for Daddy) and a dozen Amish farmer’s brown eggs. We met one of Mommy’s friends at the market who said she recognized our famous mellow-brick road babiesJ. We told Tiffany Irwin-Barnes and her two beautiful children we would say hi to Mommy for her.

When we got home we enjoyed lunch and then down for a nap, but immediately after our nap we were off for another adventure, this one to find Grandmoo a special Mother’s Day gift. We found a beautiful antique armoire and got in touch with Sean Franky to lend us a hand in making the delivery. He is such a remarkably thoughtful young man, he was pleased to help so Mommy ran out to the country to pick him up and make the delivery while Daddy kept the two of you occupied. We went over to Grandmoo’s and arrived just in time to watch the gift deliveryJ.

Though fairly exhausted from the day’s adventures, we had one more adventure in store (as much for Mommy as for the two of youJ), we went to the circus! A modest version of the circus was at the Greentown 4-H Pavilion, and Mommy had free tickets for the two of you. We were entertained especially by a well-trained dog (a Jack Russell Mommy thought) dressed as a miniature elephant. We also saw a horse dressed up like a unicorn, a kangaroo in an outside cage, a miniature pony, and of course bought some cotton candy and a balloon for Buddha and a Dora inflatable for Bodhi. Bodhi you were especially impressed by the circus and applauded enthusiastically at all the acts, Buddha you were also sort of impressed. Mommy and Daddy, not so muchJ.

After the circus, we stopped by Sister Kelly and Brother Aaron’s house in Greentown. They have made a beautiful brick patio in the back of their house and had a cook-out for Cory and Aaron’s family. Mommy hadn’t eaten all day and had a sandwich and a beer, and she thinks the beer made her very sick just like eggs have been making her very sick. Daddy is worried about her, and wants her to go back to the doctor and have some tests. You both will deal with this someday so I will tell you now, your Mommy is very stubborn or hard-headed or medically speaking a bozo.

Busy. Busy Friday

Today was a busy, busy day. Mommy played with the two of you all morning, while Daddy worked in the study. By mid-morning our friend Tom Brown and his son Bart came over to do some electrical work and completed the project of getting Mommy’s birdcage scones finally done—Daddy has been so preoccupied and worried because a wire fell behind a wall, but Mr. Brown had little difficulty getting things straightened out—thank you so very, very much Tom and Bart!!! J

At about a quarter to one, Daddy hurried you to out to Aunt Ti’s and of course you both fell asleep on the way, as Daddy feared would happen, and then you both cried and cried and cried and broke Daddy’s heart when I left---though later reports were you both recovered very soon after Daddy left and both of you enjoyed your time with Aunt Ti and familyJ.  Aunt Ti took you two on several new adventures exploring Greentown.  You all walked to the bank and the gas station :)  Aunt Ti reports that you, Bodhi, found Mr. Andrew absolutely hilarious today.

Mommy and Daddy continued to work throughout the afternoon, Daddy intended to go to the house on Leeds and mow but was surprised to discover Grandmoo mowed for us, she is obviously not feeling well but is always doing things for all of us—thank you Grandmoo, we love you!!!

Daddy made an appointment to get Arlo back to the vet to have his staples in his neck removed, and he seemed genuinely happy to get it doneJ.

Mommy picked the two of you up and made a trip to Hobby Lobby to find some Mother’s Day supplies for her twelve year old client, while Daddy made a spaghetti and meatballs dinner. After dinner, Mommy worked some more planting in the back yard while the three of us watched Nick Jr. and played monsterJ.

When Mommy came back in she gave the two of you a much needed bath and got you both off to bed, but you Bodhi got up and told Daddy you were hungry and wanted an apple and some milk. So, Mommy and Daddy and Bodhi had a late night snack of apple and milk and then got you off to bed, so you will be rested, like baby Buddha, and ready tomorrow for our adventure at Farmer’s MarketJ. Then, we all are going shopping for Mother’s Day for Grandmoo and GiGi…shhh…it’s a secretJ.

PS Mommy designed and created a wall design/application for her craft room.  It’s now 2:30 a.m. and she reports it will take her ten years to finish…so no craft projects will ever be completed :0-

A Super Thursday Too

The two of you enjoyed another super day todayJ! We had to be off early as Mommy had work to be done and Daddy had an appointment with a spine surgeonL, so Daddy took the two of you out to Greentown to stay with Aunt Ti for a while. Both of you cried and cried when Daddy had to leave, but I learned later you both settled in just fine shortly after I left. Daddy was so sad to watch the two of you cry and plead for me not to leave youL.

Daddy’s doctor appointment didn’t take as long as expected, Daddy has to have an updated medical assessment called an MRI done next week and see the doctor again, Daddy was very impressed with his doctor, Dr. Gentile. After the doctor’s appointment, Daddy went back to the house after getting a couple of tomatoes and bananas at the produce market and helped Mommy with a few things before she had to leave town to go to Lafayette to work.

Then Daddy hurried back out to Aunt Ti’s to pick the two of you up, you were super-charged to see Daddy, Bodhi and you Buddha at first squawked when Daddy tried to pick you up because you were trying to smuggle a couple of Andrew’s trucks home with youJ. It was a task trying to keep the two of you awake on the way home, and when we finally got home you went right down for your nap BuddhaJ You, on the other hand, Bodhi, would not stay down for a nap; you got up to have milk, a banana, to sit on the downstairs couch with Daddy, to lay next to Daddy on the couch, still you would not take a nap!

Around 4 p.m. you were so excited Bodhi that your brother awakened, and you told me “let’s go,” so we gathered up your brother and loaded the two of you in the carriage and off we went on an adventure! We took a long walk downtown and around to the Stite’s Cleaner’s to see Mrs. Hale, then we walked over to see Grandmoo, but we were disappointed to find Grandmoo wasn’t home. So, we sat on our porch on Leeds Street and had our snack, then headed home---you kept falling asleep all along our adventure trail, young lady! When we got home, we played out back for about an hour then went inside to wait on Mommy to get home from work and we started dinner.

Mommy finally got home around 7 p.m. and we had our dinner of pot-pies (which neither of you seemed wild about, by the way), then we had a great treat of being surprised by a visit from Grandmoo and GiGi. You guys played out back, while Mommy mowed the yard and Daddy composed the blog and got some work done.

What a day—another great adventure day! Love you, love, love, love!!!

A Super Wednesday Daddy Day

Today was the first day in memory that Daddy truly had no work commitments which couldn’t be put off, so the three of us made the most of it while Mommy had an opportunity to get her long awaited craft room preparations underway J.

First, Mommy got the two of you going with breakfast (you insisted on eggs this morning, Bodhi) while Daddy went for his scheduled eye vision exam. When Daddy returned, Mommy assisted in getting the two of you packed and ready for an adventure! We had some crackers and trail bars and ice water for treats, placed each of you in the carriage with a blanket and your spring jackets, and off we went for a long walk and eventually found our way to Foster Park.

The two of you had an absolute blast, you love to swing Bodhi, and Buddha you love to explore, and both of you were fearless in wanting to climb on everything. You tried climbing on the gorilla statute, Bodhi, then tried to cover its feet with rocks (with your brother’s help), but when you stood up underneath it you bumped your head and got a boo boo (you get this honest from your DaddyJ) and you cried and cried but Daddy and your brother comforted you until you agreed to shake it off and go back to playing. A mommy and her little boy (probably about two years older than you Buddha) came to play and the little boy kept climbing on the tall slide and yelling things like “I’m the king of the world” and you would completely stop what you were doing, Buddha, and turn to the little boy and scream, “NO!” You are such a hoot! I hope you’re not starting to mark your territory J.

After playtime and snack-time (which is an absolute must for you, BuddhaJ), we continued our journey along the adventure trail along the yellow-brick road (yes, Daddy sang you the song from the Wizard of Oz, and you both tolerated it, perhaps because Daddy’s voice really did seem to sound like the munchkinsJ) and we discovered a duck family with a mommy and daddy duck and three baby ducks, a bunch (ok, a gaggle) of geese grazing in the field, a turtle sunbathing in the creek, some hyper-active doggies, and some other park-goers all who commented on how adorable the two of you areJ.

Daddy assured the both of you that along the yellow brick road we would come upon an ice cream stand, so we stopped at the ice cream shop across the street from the park, Crazy J’s Ice Cream Bar at 320 W. Superior, and we met the owner “Jay Meck” who was an incredibly nice man who also substitute teaches at Kokomo High School (Daddy tried to recruit him for Ivy TechJ), and we assured Jay we would come back in the future to enjoy some ice cream again (Bodhi you had “Huckleberry” because it is blueJ and Buddha you had orange-pineapple).

We then continued our carriage ride home to get the two of you down for your nap after a delicious lunch Mommy made us. By the time the two of you awakened from your nap, Daddy prepared the grill outside for Mommy to cook some steaks for dinner, brother Sean Frankie came by and asked for a ride home (he walked all the way from work-at least 2 ½ miles—Daddy instructed him to call in the future to see if someone is available to come get him, thought it proved fortunate that he walked because he found your blanket on the sidewalk a few blocks from our house Bodhi, apparently we dropped it unnoticed on the way home. So, the three of us added another adventure to our day by driving Sean Frankie home (on the way he bought you French fries, a McDouble and a sprite, BuddhaJ but Mommy had dinner prepared), dropped him off (he didn’t want to go on an adventure, he had plans), and then we went to the Markland Mall where you both got a cookie from Blondies, guess what you got a blue one Bodhi and Buddha got a yellow oneJ.

By the time we made it home it was dinner time (yes, another dinner BuddhaJ), and we watched Nick Jr. before Daddy gave the two of you a bath, then Mommy helped get everyone ready for bed. The three of us lay in Mommy and Daddy’s bed and watch Nick Jr. for a little while (pretending we were at a drive-in theatre), then off to bed for stinkerbutt and stinkerbelleJ.

Daddy ended up falling asleep on the couch, and thought at first I was dreaming, but Mommy awakened Daddy to announce her final grades were posted in her last classes in her graduate program so Mommy in another week will have her Master’s degree!!!! Yeah, Mommy!!!!!!!

PS  Daddy failed to mention that while he was giving you both a bath, Mommy was downstairs cleaning up the kitchen and putting away dinner dishes, when Mr. Arlo passed out in water bowl, spilling it everywhere.  Mommy  would have never noticed anything was wrong hadn’t Mr. Arlo spilled his water everywhere.  Mr. Arlo was choking on steak.  Mommy panicked, but managed to perform the Heimlich maneuver and Mr. Arlo puked up the huge piece of steak lodged in his throat.  Mommy ran upstairs, soaking wet and smelling of puke, and announced that she had saved Mr. Arlo’s life… Bodhi, you were so funny, when Mommy announced it you cheered.  Buddha you followed your sister’s lead and cheered as well J

This morning, Mommy and Daddy took turns playing with you both while we each got ready for work.  You two were not the usual happy morning campers, but you weren't totally terrible either.  Once Daddy got back from work, at about 12:30 p.m., he packed you both up to go to Aunt Ti's.  Mommy and her friend, Lacey, went to visit Susie Newburn.  As mentioned previously, Susie's a neighborhood Momma from Mommy's childhood neighborhood that sadly has an inoperable brain tumor :(  Mommy is happy to report Susie looked great and had a nice 10 minute conversation with Lacey and I before she resorted to communicating through smiles and by shaking her head.  Mommy will continue to pray and think of Susie everyday.  Life is short with twists and turns, so we need to be certain to cherish every moment we have together, fussy butts or not, and we need to show each other how much we love one another every single day!  

Daddy reports that you, Buddha, continue to have major separation anxiety. You kicked, hit, and screamed when Aunt Ti took you out of the car.  You certainly broke Daddy's heart!  Buddha, you do not want to part with whomever you start your day with... it doesn't matter who it is anymore, you just don't want to part from whomever has you :(  You've also been horrible about going to sleep at night.  Tonight you screamed "No No Momma," as if you were being beat.  Mommy rocked you to sleep twice, both times you woke up when Mommy laid you in your crib.  I'm certain the neighbors believe you were being beat.  So, thank you for that Mister!  Mommy's job is to work with families involved with child protection, now our neighbors think Mommy is an abuser :)-  

Anyway, Aunt Ti reported to Mommy that you two were sweet as pie.  Mommy was late picking you up... I got stuck at the Humane Society with the hounds and a chatty dog catcher :(  Aunt Ti is so understanding, she took good care of you both, as usual, until Mommy could retrieve you both.  Aunt Ti also reports that you, Bodhi, now have diarrhea :(  Jude, you didn't have diarrhea this morning, but you too have diarrhea once again.  Poor babes!  

Mommy, once again was going to work on my craft room once I got you two settled in bed, but chores and your blog have taken what little energy I had left :(  Sweet dreams my sweet babes!

PS  You both hugged each other several times this evening... you two were so adorable!  Buddha, you would push Sissy away from you after hugging for about a minute, and then grab Sissy to hug her again :)
