Soft Taco Tuesday

Today was another good day with you two babes.  Mommy picked you up from Aunt Ti's, luckily Mommy was running a little behind.  Mommy takes the back roads to Greentown, and there's a train track that doesn't have lights nor a cross bar...when you babes aren't in the car, Mommy always carelessly crosses it without stopping.  Today, when Mommy arrived, a little later than usual, a train had just passed minutes before whewwwww!  Mommy may have never arrived had I not been running behind :0  It was a wake up call for sure. 

Mommy got you both home and in bed.  Jude, Mommy decided to try and lay with you until you fell asleep, to see how you do with it... you got the giggles and then Mommy caught the giggles.  It didn't work out very well.  You weren't happy when Mommy then laid you in your crib to take a nap... you wanted "giggle time" to continue :)  Bo, you went to sleep, red faced and plain wore out! 

When you two woke up, Mommy made you your first soft tacos.  Mommy loves Aunt Diane's taco recipe... you put a roast in a crock pot with 1/3 cup of water, a package of taco seasoning, and a package of Italian seasoning.  It cooks on high for 5-7 hours and it is absolutely delicious!  The smell is to unbelievable too!   You two gobbled up a taco all by yourselves.  Bodhi, you don't care much for meat, but you LOVED your taco :)  Buddha, you struggled toward the middle of your taco, but for a while you were on a roll!

During dinner, Sister Kelly and Brother Governor stopped in, Grandpa Kurt followed shortly after.  Bodhi, you were in your "silly/good mood," which is always a hoot!  Buddha, you were in a good mood too, but you are such a Momma's boy sometimes people confuse your need for your Momma as being cranky hee/hee

Grandpa Kurt took you, Bodhi, outside... you always sucker him into finding some bubbles to play with.  Jude, Momma got your shoes on you (after wrestling you) and took you outside, along with the fuzzies.  You two had fun playing in the bubble mess, and Mommy remembered reading in a Parenting magazine about getting a bunch of containers and filling them with different colored water... So, Mommy went in the house and whipped up some containers with red, blue, yellow, and green water.  You two had a blast.  Buddha, you were more interested in trying to drink the water, but Bodhi, you were mixing and stirring, having a good ol' time.  You two were soaked at the conclusion of the water/container fiasco.  Grandpa Kurt helped wrangle you two one by one into the bath, while occupying the other in the living room.  Afterwards, Daddy arrived home and it was a cuddle fest back forth between Mommy and Daddy.  Mommy then went to work for an hour, but arrived home in time to let you, Bodhi, watch the Gummy Bear song on the computer :) 

You two are off in dreamland, hopefully having sweet dreams about tomorrow might bring :)

A Sweet Day At Home

Bodhi, you started your day out with a Speech Therapy appointment with Ms. Connie.  Bubba, you sure wanted in on the action, as usual.  Bodhi, you said a whopping 25 words,  a mixture of new and old.  Ms. Connie can't believe at two years old, you already know several colors, all your animal sounds, and you like to count with your finger (pointing as we say one, two, three out loud).  Mommy sure wishes you'd start gabbing away. Mommy can't help but worry about you.   After Speech Therapy, Mommy took you both downstairs to run around and play.  Momumy went to work calling around to find the best price on a set of tires for Daddy's car. After that task was completed, Mommy read you both poems from the book Auntie Susan bought Buddha for his birthday, "The Llama that had no pajamas."  Buddha, you occassionally looked at a picture and attempted to tear the book from Mommy's hands, but Bodhi, you actually loved Mommy reading the poems to you.  I was shocked at how well you sat and listened.  It was not a typical Bodhi book, you are becoming quite the refined big girl hee/hee.   Mommy then fed you both lunch and put you down for a nap. 

Mommy snuck in a little nap today too.  Mommy checked her email after napping to discover that we've been conditionly qualified for our new home, we still have two documents to submit, then the underwriting process should be complete :)  YAY!  What a relief!  After you both woke up from your naps, Mommy worked for about an hour, and you two played with Grandmoo outside.  When Mommy returned neither of you wanted Grandmoo to leave nor did either of you want to come inside.  Of course, Grandmoo gave in and let you play outside for a while longer while Mommy got your dinner ready.  Mommy then bathed Mr. Arlo, as instructed by his doctor, and then Mommy threw you two in for a bath.  Before we all knew it, it was time for bedtime. We had a cuddle session, some drawling, and then off to bed for Buddha.   Buddha, you fought a bit, but eventually you fell asleep.  Mommy has been keeping you up until 8:30-9pm, and you've been doing very well with it.  Bo, you have been a stinker and suckering Mommy into allowing you to stay up until 10-10:30pm.  You both have been happy babes in the morning, so Mommy keeps allowing you two to stay up later.  Bodhi, you have decided you need to watch about 20 minutes of cartoons from your crib (bad habit) but you do very well when Mommy comes back in and turns them off, so for now, you get a little cartoon time in your crib :)- 

Mommy really enjoyed our day together today :)  Hopefully we have many more days like today together.  Sweet Dreams Sweet Babes!

Double “Funday” Sunday

Our Sunday began in traditional style, with a Daddy gourmet breakfast of bacon and sausage, eggs, blueberry bagels, coffee (for Mommy and Daddy) and juice (for Emilia) and banana oatmeal (for Jude). Mommy and Buddha object when we have fried eggs instead of scrambled, but Bodhi and Daddy managed just fine---though Daddy admits Bodhi (like her Mommy and brother) does seem to favor Daddy’s gourmet scrambled eggs with ketsup :).

As Daddy was preparing to get some work done, he heard a knock on the door and was pleasantly surprised to see GiGi had come by to visit, and as I encouraged her to sneak upstairs and surprise everyone it became evident that Bodhi heard her as she came in the door. The two of you, Bodhi and Buddha, characteristically went bonkers over GiGi. She took the two of you for a wagon ride, which served to make the visit even more a special treat!

After your return from your wagon ride, Mommy and Daddy got the two of you down for your afternoon nap, and then Mommy went shopping for some garage-sale swap for children’s clothes. When she returned, she brought along a pizza for dinner, after which she took the two of you to the park where you again got to visit GiGi who joined all of you for your park adventure. Daddy had to stay behind and continue working, trying to keep up with his classes and committee responsibilities for work.

When you returned from the park adventure, you were again treated to Grandmoo time as she played with both of you out in the backyard for a while and then came inside to assist as Mommy took turns getting you both bathed and ready for bed, and while she tried to catch up on some housework. Meanwhile Daddy kept working, missing a chance to spend time with the two of you stinkers (well, you weren’t really stinking anymore, after Mommy gave you both a bath after a few days without oneJ…whew, you both needed a bath :).

Finally, bedtime came around and the two of you special angels went off to dream your dreams of a double “funday” Sunday, fun time with GiGi and Grandmoo…and of course fun time with your adoring Mommy and Daddy. Sleep well you Princess and Prince of Indiana, dream of our dream home which is drawing nearer to becoming a dream come true.

PS Daddy doesn't know about our adventure to get ice cream... Mommy and GiGi both treated you to a bowl of chocolate ice cream from Frozen Custard on Webster :)-  Mmmmm!

Happy Birthday Great Papaw Grills!  Mommy and Jude tried calling you to sing happy birthday but you weren’t home… Bo, got in the spirit and said Papaw when she woke from her nap J  Hope you had a great day!

When the two of you are older, Bodhi and Buddha, you both will have a better appreciation of how much Mommy and Daddy tried to make weekends special family times. Both of us are working so much, it requires a great deal of focus to carve out time we can all enjoy one another on adventures.

Today, after Daddy got off work this morning, and after Mommy had a chance to take a shower and get dressed, we all went to the Farmer’s Market. Where is a photographer when you need one, there we all were walking from booth to booth at the market each of us holding hands, the two of you Bodhi and Buddha holding hands is just more precious than I can even begin to describe.

After market time (where we picked up some orchard apples and sweets for grandmoo), we all went out for a Saturday lunch at the Coney Island (Mommy has found her a new favorite tenderloin sandwich). The two of you had grilled cheese sandwiches and potato salad and some French fries. We all agreed it was yum, yum, yum.

After lunch, it was nap time (and time for Mommy to run to the mall)—today we all sneaked in a little bit of a nap, though Mommy didn’t enjoy much rest before Buddha was screaming for attention---hey people, its Saturday! So Mommy and Daddy and Jude got up, Daddy went out and cleaned the yard and mowed, and Mommy got the two of you fed dinner, after Bodhi got up.  Jude you and Mommy tried reaching Great Papaw Grills, he must have been out on a birthday adventure!  We hope Great Papaw had a great birthday, and we’ll catch up on birthdays when he next comes for a visit in November!

Later, we all went together to the mall to get some essentials for babies, and the two of you enjoyed some pretzel sticks and a sample piece of a chocolate chip cookie from Blondie’s. Again, yum, yum, yum. Before we left the mall, the two of you got to ride “the police car” which made siren noises, and though both of you seemed to enjoy it, you Bodhi literally screamed with joy!!!  Buddha, you only screamed when we tried to peel you off of it hee/hee

All in all, it was a fun Saturday family day, and we are looking forward to our Sunday morning together for some Daddy gourmet scrambled eggs.

Friday Adventures with Momma

This morning started off just like every other Friday, off to Aunt Ti's while Mommy and Daddy worked.  Jude, you and your sister watch each other dance and bust a move in the car.  You two giggle every morning at each other :)  About mid-morning Mommy received a text from Aunt Ti and it went something like this... I have never ever dealt with poo like the poo that just came from little man, he isn't wearing his cute skinny jeans anymore and I about puked with all the poo flying everywhere.  Mommy snorted out loud and laughed hysterically!  Typically Mommy wouldn't recommend giving babes chili, however, you two LOVE your Momma's chili ha/ha!!!  Aunt Ti unfortunately had to deal with the consquence of you two eating a large bowl of chili last night!  Mommy texted back, "LOL, I probably shouldn't have given them chili, hu.... you're going to kill me aren't you?"  Aunt Ti's reply, "Yes, yes I am!"  :)- 

When Mommy picked you up, Aunt Ti purposely taunted Mommy with a bananna cake she had just baked.  She said she wasn't going to ice it until later... meaning, Mommy was not getting a piece of the deliciousness that is Aunt Ti's bananna cake!  Mommy said that's alright, I'll be back later to pay you hee/hee 

You two fell asleep during the car ride home, and Mommy was able to transition you both from the car to your beds with no problem (and no kidnappings).  Bodhi, you woke up a couple of hours later crying hysterically, Jude, you shortly followed.  Mommy turned on some cartoons and cuddled you both in your room, Bodhi.  You two were the "lovingest" little babes!  Mommy got atleast 100 kisses from you Buddha.  Bodhi, you too got in on the action.  Daddy arrived home shortly after, but he looked and felt exhausted so he went down for a nap.  Mommy then asked you Bodhi, "do you want to go to the park," you said "YEAH!"  You also smiled super big.  So, Mommy thought we'll make an evening of adventures. 

Mommy first stopped off at McDonalds and got you two the usual, cheeseburger, apples, and milk, and then we headed to Highland Park.  We had a nice picnic, and just as we were finishing up, the bees started swarming us.  So, we quickly transitioned to the play area.  You two played your little hearts out.  Bodhi, you were also reunited with the stray Highland Park kitty cat, which you LOVE LOVE LOVE so much.  Mommy's eyes start itching just thinking about you loving on the little wild thing.  He/She was a friendly kitty cat, and another little girl at the park helped you pet "shim."  Mommy appologized to the little girl and group of girls, because moments earlier they were throwing walnuts at a squirrel, and Mommy having no filter when it comes to animals yelled very harshly and loudly, "HEY, don't throw walnuts at that squirrel!!!"  They were like 12 and 13 years old, someone needed to tell them that wasn't appropriate.  All the parents at the park just looked at me like I was crazy.  Anyway, the little girl and her boyfriends were the ones that helped you pet the kitty, and they were extra sweet to it.  Mommy was watching them interact with the kitty before allowing you, Bodhi to go up to it and them.  I was of course expecting the worst... but they were being sweet so Mommy appologized to them and explained that the squirrel didn't deserve to be treated meanly.  They said they didn't mean it any harm and smiled. 

 When we were leaving the park and heading toward the car, Mommy told you, Bodhi, to hold your Bubba's hand.  You grabbed it, and you two walked holding hands until about half way to the car.  Buddha, you got distracted and no longer wanted your sister to hold your hand.  Bodhi, you got so mad and started yelling, "Bubba, Bubbbbba, Bubs!"  Mommy was able to get Buddha back on track and you two held hands again as we walked across the parking lot to our car.  You two were the absolute cutest!  I mean, the ABSOLUTE cutest!  You two are growing so close.  I love to watch you two watch each other.  It's very apparent how much you two love one another and you both constantly giggle at each other.  :)  One of the main reasons Mommy had you so close together, was so that you two would be close and take care of each other throughout your lifetime!  My plan is coming together!

After we left the park, we headed to Greentown to pay Aunt Ti and say hi :)  Mommy got a text from Aunt Ti too, her guilty conscience caught up with her... she told Mommy the bananna cake was iced hee/hee  We stopped in and visited for a few, and then Mommy thought since we were in Greentown, we should stop in and see the progress on Sister Kelly's and Brother Aaron's new home.  They were shocked to see us, and had actually just left our house hoping to see you two.  They didn't think anyone was home, but Mommy told them Daddy was passed out upstairs :)  Sister Kelly has to write a 40-50 page paper on 10 different questions for her Graduate exam... Mommy should be taking this graduate exam too, but I wussed out and dropped two of the three classes I needed to graduate this semester.  Mommy will have to do this next semester, and I can tell you, Mommy won't be as opptomistic nor as happy about it as Sister Kelly :/  Anyway, you two got to visit the buns, and run around like crazy.  Their house looks absolutely beautiful!  Their furniture and wall color goes together perfectly!  Mommy, however, wants to paint the two super tall side walls for them.  They insist that the walls are just too tall to mess with, Mommy told them she was going to sneak in and paint them when they're not home :)- 

Mommy returned you two home to a very anxious Daddy.  Apparently, Daddy tried calling to check on us but Mommy didn't hear her cell phone ring.  Daddy put you, Buddha, down for the night, and got you, Bodhi, ready to go next.  Mommy cuddled you, Bodhi, while Daddy was tending to Buddha.  Mommy then went to work.  Daddy put you to bed before Mommy got home :(  So, Mommy has to sneak in your room and give you a kiss and tell you sweet dreams.  Sweet dreams babies... Mommy hopes you enjoyed your Friday Adventures :)
